Do NOT pay any money to ANYBODY until a full & complete notice of validation has been received (by mail, NOT e-mail or fax.) and has been verified. Believe NOTHING you're told on the phone. If it's not in writing, in front of you & you haven't verified the claims...pay nothing. EVER!
If a collector makes threats of arrest... he's a fraud! If someone says he's a process server and then tells you to call another number...he's a fraud! If a collector won't, or can't, provide you with proof of his claim...he's a fraud! If a collector won't divulge his legitimate physical address...he's a fraud! The list goes on, but the gist of it all is simple. A consumers job is never to prove he does not owe a debt. The collector MUST (by federal law) prove that he does! If a dirt-bag calls you with nothing but bluff & bluster, ignore him.
Learn your rights as a consumer under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and then pass on that knowledge to all you know. Help stamp out fraudulent debt collectors! They're nothing but vermin.

Turns out I had forgotten that I had some outstanding loans floating around. These guys took care of me and got me the supporting documents. One guy was not that nice, but seems as most of the staff acts with professionalism. They even let me make payments.

I am getting calls from this company claiming to be CMCE Associates and saying they are about to send someone out to arrest me at home or on my job.  They say I wrote a check for a payday loan and now they want to collect on the check.  I never even wrote a check. I did have pay day loan but I do not know who CMCE and Associates is and they are calling family members as well as my phone.

Thank you so much for the info you posted! My family has been drug through the mud and we are hoping to just be getting to the top of the hole that we were stuck in. This call really worried me, I expect the worse at times. Once I researched this number I saw your post and knew right away you were talking about the same call as I got. I got a huge peace of mind from it and also very angry that they are out there messing with people who really don't need the extra stupid stress!!! I recieved a voice mail from this number while I was at work. They didn't give any info other than something about a cival complaint, not even my name or a case #. When I got off of work I called the # back and their office was closed but said it's name was CMCE & Associates. After looking this company up and now this # I believe this is just crap! I had some payday loans that went under my bankruptcy and this is the 2nd time I've had calls like this to still get $ from me. The first time took my lawyer to threaten them, and they stopped. Don't give any info to these people, if they call me back I will try to provide more info for others that they might be messing with.

Yes i received a call from this number and he saidbi would be served and asked for the name of the company for my lawyer and his name and contact information but he would not give it to me so he got tired of me asking and then he gave me the worst.cussing called me every name in the book

PHONY SCAM ARTISTS! Don't fall for their BS! They call and ask for strange names, people I've never heard of and when I tell them so, THEY DEMAND TO KNOW WHO I AM!   NOT ANYONE'S LAW OFFICE! A CALL CENTER ROBO CALLING!

They talk fast and demand information trying to get you to give up your info so they can steal your identity.

Don't give them ANY informattion they are just liars cheats and thieves. If they threaten to sue you tell them to sue away, ask them who they are going to sue and for what?

Just liars cheats and thieves, call the police and file a report for harassing phone calls and attempted ID theft. cLAIMS TO BE lAWYERS oFFICE CALLING ABOUT "DEFAULTED DEBT."

Automated voice indicated civil suit being filed and to call back the number, provide the paralegal with phone number called you at. If it was legit, they would provide a case number to reference, not your phone number. Not to mention, they would call you live, not automated, and if you're being served, it wouldn't be over the phone. Not calling back. Read several other posts, all point to scam.

I called these people and asked for an address so my lawyer could contact them. The rude rep said good luck and hung up. I called again and was told because I'm going thru a lawyer he won't speak to me. Since I hadn't spoke to my lawyer I asked him again he then hung up. I called back and he said if I call again it's harassment. For those o you out there do not fall for this. I called my town court that supposedly had the paperwork and 1 they didn't and 2 I would have been served the paperwork not received a call. These people are a joke. They wouldn't provide any information because it was "irrelevant" since I was going to court. They aren't legit no address, name or company info. Use caution!
