Similar story but told someone was using my email address  and he kept asking what my email address was. He also claimed to be a Microsoft tech but I believe he called from India sine I heard a cricket game in the background noise and he confirmed that is what I heard. Shouldn't Microsoft do something to stop theses impostors?

Hi, i received a call this morning asking for a remote on my computer. when i asked why so the lady said that they are receiving  warnings and errors messages form my internet address. So i was worried and provided them the remote of my computer. Then after getting the remote that lady transferred me to the another technician nick simons. Then showed me all things and application that were stopped and showed the possibility of a infection in my computer. After i asked for his help he transferred me to some warranty department. I was asked to purchase a warranty, some sort of subscription from them. once i did that then only i would get assistance so i spend 200 dollars for it. But for sure the technician nick simons was really helpful and kind. he sounded a professional with a knowledge of computer. finally my computer i secured and protected now. even it was slow performing but it working fine now. thanks Nick

I had a similar incident today.  These are the notes I made following the incident.  I did not allow him "Microsoft Windows Support" to enter my computer:
"You sent an error report recently to Microsoft.  We wish to look into the issue now - you have a trojan in your computer and this has to be resolved before the computer crashes".
I had the fellow by name of Abe confirm who he was with and he repeated 'Microsoft Windows Support".  He wanted to check my DLL32.EXE to see what the problem was.  He suggested that I type Run - wwww.ammyy.com and he would help me sort this out.  I discovered that this was to permit him to access my computer.  I simply did not go along with that and left him hanging with an open phone and returned to my lunch.  He then called back some 8 times - I did not answer the calls.
The following numbers were used:
1-877-301-0605
1-877-301-0005
1-877-301-0638

David and I had a very long conversation, and I told him to call me back on Monday where myself and 4 other computer analysis had setup a vmware machine for him to remote into.  We all sat and watched and giggled to ourselves as this guy would deliver line after line of complete bull sh*t.  Then the next guy came on the phone who was Microsoft Certified; when I asked what certification he possessed he simply said Microsoft windows 7 to which I laughed and allowed him to continue.  They open up event viewer and show you all the errors and warnings that are inherent of using a computer and pretend like they are something catastrophic which is detrimental to the health of your pc.  They also open the command prompt and run the tree command and scroll through it pretending as though it's telling them something about my computer and how their hackers inside.

They then try to sell me an at first non-negotiable maintenance plan where they can get the errors and hackers out, but after pretending like I was going to pay for it but didn't have the money, they knocked one hundred dollars off the price.

I got bored and finally revealed who I was and that I didn't appreciate them calling me, lying to me (telling me my IP address is blah blah blah and telling me have hackers blah blah), and how they take advantage of people who don't understand how to use computer that well.

These people disgust me and if I had the time I would surely trace them back to their call center and pay them a visit myself.  Perhaps if they continue to call me I may find the time, I possess the resources...

If anyone ever calls you and you do not know who they are, expect they are trying to sell you something.  These people are indeed scammers and I find myself getting more and more encouraged to trace them back...

Received call from 877-301 0605
Guy that called said his name was David Jackson from Microsoft customer service.  He had a foreign ascent  for sure, sounded like an indian. He told me that he had seen that a virus had entered my computer, then he asked me if I used windows 7.  He said he would help me fix it over the phone if I would log into my computer and follow his instructions. I told him I will check and call him back, I believe this is an scam or hacker !!

I received a call today from the exact same number and guy telling me the same thing.  The only difference was that he was telling me to search for file rundll32.exe.  Just like you, I was not going to find out and my computer was fine.

Got an urgent call yesterday from a man with a foreign accent but good English telling me "his server" was getting my emails and he needed me to go to my computer and check for a specific file to see if my computer had been hacked. When he called he had my name and verified my email address however that's easy to find since I'm a Realtor.  After that, I didn't give him any further information because I started wondering why my internet provider wasn't calling me to notify me of the problem.  I offered to call my provider and do a conference call with him to make him squirm but didn't have time so asked him for his name "Albert" and call back number 877-301-0605 (called ID said 877-301-0005).  He wanted to walk me thru how to check my computer and indicated the file ended with exe so thinking that was his key to accessing my computer without my knowledge. I decided to call  Albert back this morning for more information on the company so I could report but the connection was so bad I hung up after getting nowhere and the man who answered didn't know Albert and he also had a very heavy foreign accent.  He indicated the company name was Premium Technical Support located in California but would not give me the city and asked why I needed that. After I hung up, I received an immediate call back from Albert with "No Caller ID" noted for the call.  He said the company name was Amack Technology, 690 W Fremont Ave, Suite 10 (or 200 since he changed it during the call), Sunnyvale, CA 94087  He had to put me on hold so he could find the company address.  When I googled the company name and city nothing comes up for either business name.  This is most certainly a scam.

This company called me too.
Here's how to handle ANY telemarketer.
Answer EVERY question with an enthusiastic YES!
No matter what they say just reply with one word, Yes!
Eventually they get pissed off and hang up.  At least you string them along for awhile. :)

>>  Sounds like a scam. <<

Because it is. :) MS has NO WAY of knowing your computer is "spamming," lol. What a twit (the caller, not you ^_~). Microsoft will NOT call you about your computer; only scammers wanting access to your money and your computer will.

Just got a call from this number. The tech claimed to be from Microsoft and that my IP address was spamming MS. She wanted me log in while she talked me through it. I got her call back (it showed up as 0000000 on callerid) and it does not say MS but Technical Support Group. Sounds like a scam.

Received a call from 877-301-0605 AMAK TECHNOLOGIES or Techie Help.  website http://techiehelp.us/terms.html  also saw this phone number 1-877-301-0638  Anyway the guy that called said his name was Troy from Amak Technologies.  He had a foreign accept for sure. He told me that he had seen that a virus had entered my computer, then he asked me if I used windows 7.  He said he would help me fix it over the phone if I would log into my computer and follow his instructions.  I am thinking "no way" of course. He speciifcally said that the problem was with a CSRSS.EXE file that needed to be fixed (to se the file go Control> Alt >Delete >Processes running) I looked to see if I had the file but I told him I would fix it myself.  This is a necessary file but there might be some truth to this file being corrupt. I ran a scan and my computer was fine.  The impression he was trying to sell me was that he was working with Mircosoft, he is not working with any computer company.  Scam? Hacker? I was not going to find out by following his instruction!
