The call from the number 877-307-2038 is about collecting some kind of debt but they leave messages saying they are trying to serve a summons. When you return the call they try to use scare tactics to get the debt resolved. They are not working in accordance to the laws as they have kept calling even after being told not to call, and they have threatened to arrest people (which they do not have the power to do) so do not let them harass you. Stay strong and report them if they harass you too.

We just received a call from this number saying they were process servers looking for my husband at an address we moved away from 2 years ago.  They specifically said my name and wanted me to return the call to verify our address and discuss the ongoing asset and liability investigation that they are working on.  They also gave me a case number.  What a bunch of crap!  Cases don't get filed without the investigation being pretty well set and process servers and the court have access to your location information.  Just another bad collection company trying to scare people with legal action.

I have been receiving this call for several weeks now. Claiming to be a "Process Serving Office". And saying I have been served with a suit against me and must contact then immediately.  They wanted to confirm my address (REALLY?) I can tell you from two years in the court system that this is false.   If indeed you are served papers you have to be served in person.  You aren't going to get something in the mail..REALLY ..dont let these guys put you in fear.  They are a bottom feeding low life firm.  AND  The stature of limitation for debt is 7 years.  It looks like they are trying to get people with really old debt to pay up.  How do these people sleep at night after treating people so badly.  Make a complaint to your Attorney general and California's Also better business bureau. As this phone call came from  951 847 3319.

I got the same call. I called and it was about an old debt that I had. I explained what happen and I was able to settle out of court. They can take you to court if they want to pursue it. The things they threaten you with are withing the law, depending on the state you live in.  I didn't want to take that chance so we agreed on a settlement. I did owe the debt, I was skeptical but Mr Brasi sent me all the paperwork I asked for and got me a fair settlement. I do live in a state where they can garnish wages. Every state is different so educate yourself.

I'm not even getting the calls! They are calling my 82 year-old grandmother (I have NO idea how they got her information.) (Well, they are listed in the White Pages.) and giving her the story about the court order. I have no idea how to get them to stop harassing my grandparents without getting stuck in the trap.

After a few calls to my work place I decided to call them back and for the third time advise it is prohibitted to call my work at anytime. They wouldn't agree to me recording the conversation and ask that i turn it off before continuing conversation. After going over some the laws found in FDCPA they said they new the laws but they werent a collection agency so it didn't pertain to them. Heres the kicker>>>>>>> They than asked how long it would take to pay the money owed if we sent you a letter?>>>>>>> When I asked "If your not a collection agency then why are you trying to collect $$$?" they got mad and hung up. LMAO!!!! What a job!!!! Have fun ya'll!!!! Oh yeah and if you talk to them tell FRANK i said HELLO!!!!!

Message left on my cell says calling from "Process Servers Office" and that they had already attempted once, to "deliver me legal documents". Asked that I call (Carrie Warden)  back at this number to RESCHEDULE my service of the docs. Yeah, right.  Nothing in the mail from these bottom feeders, process delivery in this area is done only by appointed  officers of the court and, sure, I'll be happy to call you to set a time allow further harassment by you!. I see at least a couple violations of the FDCPA here.

Oh please! "hung up...45 min.later i got served" is just too melodramatic even for a scammer post! Folks, real debt collectors send paperwork within 5 days of initial contact as required by law in Section 809 Validation Of Debt in the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf  These callers are either abusive collectors or outright scammers.

The FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf requires debt collectors to send *WRITTEN* notice and creditor name to debtors, give debtors 30 days to dispute the debt, etc., within 5 days of initial contact. You do not report receiving paperwork so I think yours may be a fake positive collector/scammer post.

They are collection agencies just like all the others. There is no debtors prison. I do believe everyone is responsible for the debt they create. However, when people fall on hard times sometimes they need more time to get their affairs in order.

Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
?The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) is a federal statute applicable in Ohio that regulates debt collection agencies and monitors their business operations to curtail deceptive practices in debt collection. Debt collection agencies are prohibited from harassing consumers with calls repeated in quick succession, calling the debtor before 9 a.m. or after 8 p.m. or contacting the consumer at her place of employment. Debt collectors may not release information pertaining to the debt to a third party, except for the consumer's lawyer or spouse, and must cease contact with the consumer after receiving a written request. FDCPA also precludes threats of arrest that are not consistent with the law and abusive language used to intimidate consumers. If state law and FDCPA are inconsistent with respect to debt collection laws, the law that offers the consumer the greatest protection is applied. A collection agency's failure to comply with FDCPA may lead to civil litigation brought by the consumer

She said this is a summons service or a collection agency law firm trying to settle a suit that was pending against me. They said if I didn't take action they would take me to court. They have called my work place 2 times now! How do you stop something like that?
