these people called me in Jan., 2012.  debt collectors for someone else, unknown to us.  had another call in 2011, but don't remember who the company  was calling on that one.  
  there needs to be something done, with all of the debt collectors, as we are also getting calls from about 8 to 10 different companies for a johnny w thorpe, a john w thorpe Sr. and a Rita thorpe.   they are now being sued by someone, plus chased  for debt to WALMART, Chase and others. WHY should I even know of this???  
none of these calls are to anyone who has had this phone # or we are related to, or are even friends of, so why should we have to write letters, make reports to FTC to just try to get them to STOP calling. there needs to be some changes made to FTC....  everyone should report these calls.

I received a call on saturday around 11 am from 877 307 5476.He identified himself as an HPC reprensentive. He stated i had until monday to moneygram 383 dollars to his office to prevent legal actions for writing a bad check to a check n go. I almost sent the money until i thought about it and found it strange they called me on a saturday and said i had to have it received by sunday at midnight. From my previous encounters with credit collectors they call during normal business hours monday-friday. i tried calling the number back and dial his extension and i received someone elses voicemail. Im sure it is a scam.

I get several different calls from different numbers, but are the same people looking for Holly somebody, that person does not exist to my cell phone number, nor am I related to whoever this is.  I do not know how or why that keep calling?  Or why they think this person may be at my cell phone number.  I have told them and told them, and they all say "Oh sorry we will take your number off the list or something"  BUT they have NOT!!  I told one of the guys, why dont you google her name and find out what her real number is???? UGH!

I received a call at 8:35.  The female caller stated is ______ home.  I stated yes.  The female caller stated is ______ the last four digits of your social security number.  I asked her "who are you and the company you represent".  The female refused to answer my question and insisted on me verifying the last four digits.  I told her I will not answer any questions until she identify her herself and the company she represents.  The stated "if you don't want to answer my question we will see you in court.  She then hung up the phone on me.  This is not how a company would do business.  So I am now going to call them and harass them.  I will also send a complaint to my state attorney general.

This number called me early this morning. Asking for someone i have never heard of but calls for often. How they got my cell phone number i don't know. So after they called me early i called them back. Then got hung up on, after i was told i had no job and no Intelligence. Wrong move with me. They have now been reported to the Attorney Generals office and marked as a scam. Also have been reported to multiple other consumer watch groups. I hope they call me back that way it just gives the Attorney Generals office more clout to work and shut them down.

Call 1-888-545-1954 for a attorney to help you with this at no cost to you, they just take a portion of what you get, my attorney told me this is an illegal company operating that steals your information from payday loan companies and other companies and tries to get you to pay a debt you may not even owe. So to get them out of business turn them into your states attorney general so they go away, by just ignoring them will allow them to continue to harass other people and just think how many people a day fall for there scam by thinking they will go to jail if they dont pay!!! You will not be arrested or have a warrant put out on you people!!! You can verify this by calling your states attorney general!!! Shut them down!!

bwahhhaaa they have been calling me for years and I have been ignoring it, I had a blast today just calling them back and talking to them, now they won't take my calls anymore and all there ext, are not answering either.... hmm ya'll should do the same It was fun... the guy even ask if I had been drinking.. and cussed on the phone, after I told him he used the word obtuse incorrectly. Oh this has been a great day and I think I shall keep calling them everyday to make my days fun.

I keep getting calls from this number looking for a Chester Treptrop. Sounds like a made up name. I told her they constantly call looking for the same person but there is no one here with that name. She didn't sound like she believed me and I wasn't about to give my name to prove it. They call every five minutes.

My co-worker recieved a call today from the same Company or Same ## The call was actually for me however they asked her to take a message and stated they have a documented claim and it is important that I call back today. First I don't even know this Co and secondly if this was a legitiment Company they should know that all personal information should not be relayed. Some one needs to stop this Company from getting personal infomation.

Someone named Eric Barksdale just called me from this number today also. He's a gentleman who spoke with a very "ebonic" type of accent, and was very difficult to understand. He said something very quickly about calling from the offices of HPC Processing division about "a matter I may or may not be aware of" and that I "needed to call immediately" so he could "advise and prepare you for what's next". His last two words where an ominous sounding "good luck". It made me laugh. He gave me a call back number of 904-418-5044. What a freaking tool.

This company called to harrass me for several weeks for now reason. How do I block them?

Just as everyone else received a call from James Tate who cant read from his notes well claims to be looking for me regarding a payday loan that they wont provide any information on nor will they send out any "proof" of the debt.  This company has been calling for years threatening to pick me up in the county where I live but they havent shown up yet...ha He tries to intimidate you as if they can garnish wages etc but they cant.  Looks like they will take a loss because I aint paying for something over 7-10 years old and they have no proof.

They left a voicemail and ask for someone that doesn't live in my home.  The continued to claim they wanted their side of the story about a SERIOUS allegation against them.  Then said they should call this number and "good luck."  What in the world?

got a call from this number numerous times in the last week. never answered it. they finally left a voice mail. a james tate. saying i had to call them by 6pm i was identified as a person of interest and theyre in contact with the county i live in and will turn me over if  i dont return the call by 6pm that day. they did have my social. threatening a warrant etc... they are continuing to call me today. 2 calls already!!! this is redculous. this is from 7 years ago. statue of limitations!!!!! this place is a joke!!! dont give the your money!!!!

I got a call from these guys today and they had the last 4 of my social security number and the last 4 of my bank account. The lady said I was being sued for issuing a bad check to payday today. Then she says we can settle this out of court if I pay $420. She transfers me to some rude guy who kep telling ke I would go to jail if I didn't pay, so I told him I'd take my chances in court. He refused to give me any court date information and hung up on me, so I googled the number and thank God you guys are confirming what I thought all along, it's a f****ng scam. So I've been calling them back all day just harass them as well. What a bunch of low life!!!

I just got the same call as well. They said I took out a loan from Pay Day Today for 300 in August 2010. They had my last 4 of social and last 4 of bank account. My bank said there are no such deposits from this company on or near that date. HPC said I would be taken to court if I did not come to an agreeement to pay them by 3 pm today when I ask for proof that I signed for or asked for a loan. They said the e mail I sent asking for the loan was enough proof and that I could see it in court. They too said I would be charged with legal fees, etc... so I should try to settle this now. I am going with it is a scam. Chase Manhattan wouldnt lie to me about whether or not I have a 300 deposit from August 2010. The only transaction I had was a transfer from one of my accounts to another of my accounts, done by me, for that amount. No deposits what so ever. These people hack into your accounts (by hacking into your PC / Mac) and monitor activity then scare you years later so you just pay them whatever asap since most bank statments do not go that far back and most people do not want Judgments on their credit reports. And yes, why are these companies allowed to call your job and make these threats? No clue.

HPC Attorneys at Law called my wife at work. Threaten to put a warrant for her arrest!! That pissed me off cuz they got her very scarred and worried. I called them back and asked for a location. Not to my surprised, they would NOT give me one. They had her social security number which worries me. There's no telling what these people are capable of doing. I'm calling the FDCPA right now to report the harassment. Also, some one just called my home number from a cell phone #. 912-467-1003. From ST. Marys Ga. Saying Mr. ###### can you please call me back at this number. Oh I'll call aright!! Just as soon as I get off the phone with the FDCPA!!! Good luck everyone!! Don't fall for their bull crap!!!

they did the same ting to me, so i took it a step further, after all the rude comments and them calling back just to hang up and harrase me at work, i desided to call them over and over again, they will not give you an adress or fax number nor will they fax you any info, just want your personal info. i found there fax number online and faxed them all thier information back, about the 100th call back to them, threatening me about harrasment, they said they would no longer call me if i stopped harrasing them.. touche lol i thing everyone should repeat call them and fax them unwanted info they dont need. just so they know how we feel with all of thier false threats. here is there fax. fax number for HPC.(904 418 5051) 3. Received a message that faded in and out saying that a case under my name had been placed in their office and that they had "come to a decision," and that if I wanted to have any say in my future I should call back and talk to Ray Buchannon.  A lot of noise in the background of people talking and laughing...a real professional office atmosphere it sounded like (yeah, right), and the caller was hard to understand due to the quality of the call.  But he made it sound like my very existence relied upon my returning a phone cal to him immediately.  I think I'll wait to see what happens to me!  What a joke, and these people intimidate and attempt to frighten consumers who aren't knowledgeable about their rights.  Education for All!!!!!!!

got a phone today from a melissa park- stating there was a document in her office regards to me and that i needed to call her back by end of the day. first of all, i have never received anything in the mail and i am taking care of debts.

a lady call denise saying i better pay 246 on my account or they will file legal action against me

i have been receiving calls for a craig/greg jenkins. i get approx 3-5 calls on my work issued cell a week. when i've called back to advise that the person they are looking for is not on my work cell, i get hung up on.  after some investigating, i've found another number to call. the following number is the corporate hq for this H&P Capital: 1-800-837-0371. i spoke to a 'ben' advising that the personnel at H&P are very rude and unprofessional and if my number is not removed from their calling list, further legal action would occur.

They cannot issue a "Federal Warrant" as a "Collection Agency".  They don't have the authority to do that.  Everyone needs to be well versed in the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collections Practices Act).  If they are telling you they have a warrant out for your arrest, it is false and they are in violation of the FDCPA.  They cannot threaten you.  They also cannot leave threatening messages on your voice mail, nor disclose any information to a 3rd party.  You can search for an FDCPA attorney in your area and I am sure they will be more than willing to help you file a lawsuite against the company and also the collector that is threatening you.

ya i got a check fraud thing today as well. its all fake they called me a few months ago on something else. apparently i'm going to be arrested today....

what did you do i got a smilar call today except he was going to charge me with check fraudde and they are are sending out a federal warrent

Recieved a message on answering machine looking for my son-in-laws estranged father... very strange.

got a meesage last month (i just checked messages today) and she said her name was London something or another.  She didn't tell me where she was calling from but told me that if I didn't call back to give her MY SIDE OF THE STORY that further action would be taken and she would show up at my office with the authorities or at my place of residence...and that i needed to save myself the embarassment.  quite naturally, she doesn't know me, but if she did know me, she would surely know that an empty threat is not the way to get me to do anything...valid or not.  i double-dog dare them to show up at my office with some toy cop officials - i guarantee that the REAL police who guard our office will be more than happy to haul their happy a***s smooth off.  i invite them to review the FDCPA and all other rules, laws, ordinances governing "fraudulent" acts before calling me again because the next time, i just might answer...

These people KEEP calling for a Iva, I am NOT Iva!

I tell them this is not her, but they KEEP calling. Today I call them back to have my number removed. The guy with the jerk tone says "do you know this person?" I say no and he hangs up on me. I call back...still wanting to simply tell someone to remove my number and the same guy answers. I say "I just called and uh...spoke to you" Bam... the jerk hangs up on me again.

They are the ones harrassing people and they REFUSE to remove my number.
