Stop calling!
Mark 2014-03-27 19:21:54 Unknown
Same with me, had work done by I yogi and all they do now is call me and you can not understand a word they say.

I am a consultant (developer) and have used iYogi before since I am not an system-admin\app-specialist and do not have expertise in that area. I think very highly of iYogi tech support. They are from India (at least the ones I have spoken with) and they have been understandable.

They have hijacked the Poker room industry too. I went to cash out of an online Poker room and the cashier website URL changed to an unfamiliar one. There were no cash-out options, only buy-in options...Go Figure!
On the cash-out options page there was only a phone number...1-877-314-4195... when I called, the person he said I needed to provide my login information, which could have given him access to my money. I said I was uncomfortable about doing this via phone.
After an argument he asked for my email address and said a tech support person would contact me about withdrawing my money... this never happened

I have had legitimate work done by iYogi, but would only call them if I needed more help. There are a number of phone numbers being used by a scammer or scammers who are using the iYogi name and is making these calls while leaving no message. I would hope that the real iYogi group would leave a message, but I'm getting concerned about this whole deal and wonder if there is a connection between the two. I can count at least 5 phone numbers I've received these calls from. In each case, no message is left and there is no answer if I try calling back. Because of the uncertainty, I am going to quit using iYogi services, in the future, just to err on the safe side.
In one case, I actually answered one of these phone calls and the fellow I spoke to claimed to represent iYogi. I could barely understand him, but, I asked why he called. He stated that there was malware on my computer. I replied that my computers are all working well. He told me that he needed access to my computer to fix it. I asked him how he does that and he tried, however, I knew not to allow him access to my computer so I would not click on the link. That pissed him off enough that he threatened me, saying that he can crash my computer anytime he wants. I asked him how he'd do that, and he cussed at me. Next, I thanked him for staying on the line with me so that there was time to trace the call and told him he'd soon hear from the FCC cyber security group of which I was a Special Agent. I don't know if there is such a group or, if they call their people agents, but it didn't matter as he was off the line before I could say anything else.

I, too, had trouble with iyogi. They are I believe associated with freeware AVAST. Avast is fine so long as you do not have to deal with the chaps in India. Don't let them take concern of your pc. I now purchase protection software.
They call. They ask for my spouse. They call and most recently, hang up. Not knowing the number I called back and was put on hold for music. I thought, hmmmmmm, they are trying to track me, must hand up.
Best to stay away from them.

They call. Leave no message. Using phone identifier, I called back and was put on line for a long time with music. Decided, this is not good. Hung up. I remember in the past iyogi doing the pestering deal and wanting to talk to my husband. I think they own Avast. I bought Avast until the pestering began as well as not receiving protection for the number of computers promised. Now, I use protection software purchased in the store.

told me he wanted to check up on my computer after I supposedly spoke to a tech a year ago...etc

Number calls constantly, claiming to represent iyogi, 3-7 times per day, wanting to fix my computer. I'm not interested. I called my carrier and had the number blocked.

This phone number 877-314-5232 is indeed iyogi. They do computer repairs but scam allot of money with the charge of $199. That is to much and all they did was remote the computer to clean up some files while doing some fancy antivirus background check which I could do myself. Tech support is a waste of time if they charge this much. They act big and important BUT THEY ARE NOT.
Emily 2012-09-08 02:44:24 Prank Call
Well I have no idea what IYOGI is and I built my own computer so I don't understand why they called me, I just received a call from 877-314-5232. Indian man said, "Hello is Emily there" I said yes...service on my phone was bad, he said again, "hello is this Emily..."but he sounded like a prank caller to me. I'm a receptionist so I know the difference between a sales call, professional and a waste of timer (which this guy was). I stepped outside to get better reception and he sounded like he was giggling. I said, "I'm not in the mood for pranks right now what do you want?" he said, "Oooooh Emily I looooovvve you." To which I said, thank you goodbye and I hung up. I called the number back and it was just music playing. No one answered. HOW THE HELL DO THEY KNOW MY NAME?

Just let it ring. Naturally, since they were dishonest, no message was left.
National do not call registry is a joke for these criminals.

Just received a call. There was some catchy music playing and after what felt like five minutes (sure it was less than a minute) I just hung up. I also use Yogi. Matter of fact, it's getting ready to expire

I just received a call from 877-314-5232. This number has called numerous times and finally I picked up. There was probably a 10 second delay then someone came on. I blasted the person and told them I will be reporting them as I am on a no call list, then I hung up. I did try calling back and just got a recording that no one was there to take my call. Pain in the -----. I wish someone could disconnect this number some how.
Natalie 2012-04-02 19:34:10 Unknown
I keep getting repeated phone calls on my cell. It is an Indian accent and they can't even pronounce my name right! When I challenge them about who exactly are they calling, they abruptly hang up. This is a a total nuisance and this number should be shut down.
pam overbey 2012-04-02 13:18:01 Unknown
This number calls me several times a day leaving no message. When I tried calling back it is just a recording saying there is no one to take my message. What can I do about this?

I wrote on a reply awhile ago,,,but I got to thinking,,,I do not believe that 877-314-5232 is a Iyogi telephone number..you really do have to be careful,,,,they may be pretending to be Iyogi...this number calls me ever day and at night,,,,Iyogi does not do that..so if I was you I would not give them any information ate this numer,,go online to Iyogi.com and get their number and report to them what is happening...
Bird 2012-03-29 22:50:28 Unknown
Yeah I have had Iyogi for years,,,they are the best,,,not expensive and will come in any time and work on my computer...and they are in India,,,,I thank God for them ever day........Good Karma...I live in North Carolina

The number that is calling us representing IYOGI is a phony number and a scam. I contacted IYOGI and they verified the fact that this number is not in thier system. The caller atempts to lock into your PC and tell you that there is a problem with some of the software and would like to correct it. After taking control they download corrupted information allegedly your system that has to be corrected. What they really want is to buy a system for 3 or $400 to aid in correcting the faults. The downloaded problems are not on your PC but a plant that assumes it is your PC.
I have received serveral calls like this over the past year. They use dummy phone numbers to avoid the blocks on other numbers that were blocked. When you call the number back, it does not exist.
IYOGI never calls the client. Only if you had legitimate service from IYOGI do they call you back to check on the service they rendered. HANG UP...HANG UP...HANG UP

I am a working professional who has returned to school to further my career. I have used IYigi tech support. They have assisted me on a few occations with computer issues that were not always virus or malware related, and did so to my satisfaction. Occationally, I get calls asking how they may improve their service.

IYOGI is a ripoff. They lied to me, saying they were affiliated with McAfee. It was only when I called McAfee for additional support that I found out. Avoid IYOGI at all costs.
