Special Agent Pena and Special Agent Anthony Williams contacted me and told me they had a warrant for my arrest and U.S. Marshals would be knocking on my door within minutes.  They said I was part of a 10 year investigation into the pharmaceutical industry and they had proof I had bought Viagra online in 2006.  They said I would be extradited to the Dominican Republic if I did not send them $3,800.00 via western union within the hour.

I CALLED THE FBI AND DEA.  I WAS TOLD THIS IS A SCAM!! THIS SCUM BAG NEEDS TO GET A REAL JOB, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO HUSSLE HARD WORKING AMERICANS OUT OF $$. I HOPE THE REAL DEA AND/OR THE REAL SPECIAL AGENT PENA / SPECIAL AGENT ANTHONY WILLIAMS  GETS THEIR HANDS ON THIS CLOWN.

This is not your run-of-the-mill scam. These guys had a fake DEA switchboard with extensions for agents in the field.  They had done their homework.  They raddled off USC statutes they say I violated.  They threatened  to ruin my career and my family.  At one point when I said I was going to ask my wife something they told me that she would be indicted for conspiracy if I mentioned anything to her about the supposed "on going" investigation.

ALERT - EXTORTION SCAM - ALERT

DEA Warns Public of Extortion Scam by
DEA Special Agent Impersonators

The Drug Enforcement Administration is warning the public about criminals posing as DEA special agents or other law enforcement personnel as part of an international extortion scheme.

The criminals call the victims (who in most cases previously purchased drugs over the lnternet or by telephone) and identify themselves as DEA agents or law enforcement officials from other agencies.  The impersonators inform their victims that purchasing drugs over the lnternet or by telephone is illegal, and that enforcement action will be taken against them unless they pay a fine.  In most cases, the impersonators instruct their victims to pay the "fine" via wire transfer to a designated location, usually overseas.  If victims refuse to send money, the impersonators often threaten to arrest them or search their property.  Some victims who purchased their drugs using a credit card also reported fraudulent use of their credit cards.

Impersonating a federal agent is a violation of federal law.  The public should be aware that no DEA agent will ever contact members of the public by telephone to demand money or any other form of payment.

The DEA reminds the public to use caution when purchasing controlled substance pharmaceuticals by telephone or through the Internet.  It is illegal to purchase controlled substance pharmaceuticals online or by telephone unless very stringent requirements are met.  And, all pharmacies that dispense controlled substance pharmaceuticals by means of the lnternet must be registered with DEA.  By ordering any pharmaceutical medications online or by telephone from unknown entities, members of the public risk receiving unsafe, counterfeit, and/or ineffective drugs from criminals who operate outside the law.  In addition, personal and financial information could be compromised.

Anyone receiving a telephone call from a person purporting to be a DEA special agent or other law enforcement official seeking money should refuse the demand and report the threat.

There was a message on my home answering machine from "Officer Ramirez, from the DEA."  He stated the Border Patrol had intercepted a package of medicine with my husband's name and address on it.  Caller ID was from 433 area code.  The call-back number was the 877 number.  I knew it was a scam, but it gave me pause nonetheless.

Got a call from a man who introduced himself as Jacob Ramerez from the DEA.  He said that US Customs and Border Protection had confiscated a package with my name and home address on it. They asked that I call them back immediately.

This has got to be a scam and I have no intention of calling them back.

SCAM!!!!!

I recieved calls from

(443) 957-4656 Baltimore, Marland
and
(530) 554-2483 Davis California

and both were scams ... claiming that package of illegal drugs with my name on it had been confiscated - something I know to be a VERY false claim.
Voicemails were obviously from sketchy cell phone reception and from men with thick accents claiming to be
"office Jacob Ramirez" or agent "Javier Pena".
One voicemail left this number ... (877) 315-3773 ... so I googled it and found this website.

If you are going to be subpoenaed to court for something like this, you do not receive a phone call ... someone shows up at your door with papers.

If you get one of these phone calls, tell them you are going to call the police or the actual D.E.A. and report them.
They will end the phone call threatening that they will "see you in court".
Ignore this and ignore any other calls from these numbers.

How people have so much time on their hands to pursue such malicious endeavors is beyond me.

Same thing happened to me this week.  Officer Pena said I had bought illegal prescriptions online and that I was facing 3 to 7 years in prison.  I kept telling him I didn't know what he was talking about, and after three times of telling him that, he said he had a file on the guy that he had just shut his web site down on.  The guy gave him my name/number as evidence.  I still told Officer Pena I didn't know what the heck he was talking about.  At that point he said his boss would call me back in 20-25 minutes - which never happened.  Freaked me out, but I did research the number and found out it was a telemarketer.  He also said he was with the DE Agency....

Same thing happened to me as described in the other messages so this scam is still alive and well.  The Officier Pena said he had a warrant out for my arrest and that there were officers heading out to pick me up as we spoke.  The rest is the same...he is a persistent person though.  As said it is a bit unnerving to receive such a call.  The incoming call in my caller id was 4439574656.  Then he left the 877.315.3773 number for calling him back.

First time,  Andrew Williams said he is investigating a pharmacy I had dealt with and that he was a special agent with the FDA.  He had an accent.  2nd time he called he said that he was with the DEA and that I had to call him due to a "very urgent matter".  Both calls were left on answering machine.  Did my due diligence and found this.
This scam has been going on for a long time.  Check this out over the evolution of the scam.

I have had several calls at my work from the number 1-877-315-3773 as someone describing himself as officer Pena.  Stating that he works with the DEA.  He is telling my place of work that I am in trouble and going to be arrested- Ive never spoke with him as Im not allowed personal phone calls.  Is there anything that can be done to get this stopped? It certainly isnt helping me at work due to the fact I am a nurse and they are mentioning drug charges.  I had to have our secretary google the number to prove its a scam- but sometimes shes not t he only one who answers the phone.  Please email me back at [removed]@hotmail.com if you need anymore info

Got a call from this number today.....I was very suspicious, but have to admit a bit scared as he had known a lot of personal information on me.  He told me there were two outstanding warrants for my arrest and if found guilty, could end up in jail from 3-7 years!  I hung up on him and called my attorney and told him what happened.  He than called the number and asked for "OFFICER PENA" (disguising his voice as if it was me)!  He then revealed himself and asked Officer Pena for his badge and ID number....of course no response!  THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM!   Do not answer this number if it shows up on your caller ID!  Apparently, his motive was to get my credit card number offering to pay my bail in advance and make the problem go away!

http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/phantom-debt-co ... 28#.T9-0tPXBaNk
Hundreds of thousands of cash-strapped Americans have been targeted by abusive debt collectors operating out of overseas call centers suspected of links to organized crime in India, law enforcement officials told ABC News.

The calls are part of a massive scam, one that appears to target struggling Americans -- especially those who have gone online to apply for payday loans. Armed with personal information from those pilfered applications, the threatening callers, who claim to be debt collectors poised to initiate legal action, have managed to pry loose millions of dollars from their victims -- even when the victims never owed money in the first place.

"This is what we call a phantom debt collection scam," said Jon Leibowitz, the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission. "It's a very pernicious and innovative new fraud." Working through call centers in India, the commission estimates that the criminals have dialed at least 2.5 million calls, persuading already cash-strapped victims to send them more than $5 million. Some have reported receiving dozens of calls per hour. They are victims like Cindy Gervais, of New Orleans, who went online for a quick loan when her husband's car was hit by a driver who didn't have insurance.

I received a call from someone with a heavy accent claiming to be a special agent with the DEA.  I worked with the DEA and they are titled as "agent", not special agent.  The FBI uses the other title.  He claimed I needed to return his call as this was a very urgent matter.  If it were the DEA and I were truly in trouble, someone would come to my house and show me their credentials.  DO NOT give these people any financial information.  Should you make contact please call your nearest federal law enforcement agency.  These scammers are using the telephone for the purpose of interstate fraud which is a federal crime and a felony.  Do not let them get to you.  I called them back just to tease them.

This is the call back number left by the SCAM which is tries to get you to send money to people posing as DEA agents. The essence of the SCAM is that you can pay the money to the DEA you will stay out of trouble. That's not the way DEA works. We all know that.

Type in the number 443-977-4515 in Google search and read all about the scam before you decide whether to call them back or not. If you decide to call them back, keep in mind what this is really about so that they can't frighten you.

I learned about this SCAM from someone who became really frightened by these people. So learn about this first. You can read notices from the real DEA about the operation of this scam.

I received a call from this number ext: 2235 stating he was with the DEA and that I was pending Federal charges and a possible warrant for my arrest.  I haven't done anything illegal or wrong.
The phone number never showed up on my caller ID matching the time and date that the message was left.
