Quick follow up: I answered the call today, and this is Comcast's tech support department calling 1. to confirm my service appointment, and 2. get more detailed info about the service problem.

I've gotten five calls in less than 24 hours from this number with no message or ID. Out of curiosity, I called the number and got the Comcast "outbound troubleshooting department" but couldn't get hold of a live person, just an answering system. I have a service call scheduled for the upcoming weekend, so this wasn't a surprise; however, I had already received a reminder message from another number that showed "Comcast" in the caller ID ... so no idea why I'm getting peppered with calls from this 877 number, too. Maybe just being a bit overzealous about customer service?

I received a call from this number leaving a confirmation voice mail I received from Comcast to confirm a technician appointment related to my cable internet. In the Chicago northwest suburbs. 2/15/11.

Is Comcast confirming a service call (cable TV and Internet). This phone call (that I didn't answer) was for a service call tomorrow morning. Part of their voice mail message is that if you don't answer when the tech calls a half hour before arriving, they won't show up.
