I have received 3 text messages today.  It was from a couple of different numbers saying Legacy Texas Card is frozen...I don't have one and don't want one.  I don't know how they got my number but I wish they would stop because I get charged everytime I receive one of these messages.

i received a text yesterday. 817@tmomail.net. i tried calling it from home to jack with them and they are not accepting calls. darn, i wanted to play.

I received a text msg on my cell stating that my Legacy Texas card is frozen and to call 877-336-7963.  I don't even have a Legacy Texas card.  I used to get these same kind of text msgs from Capital One and I didn't have one of those either.  I hope everyone out there is smart enough to NOT RESPOND to these messages.  Just delete them and go on about your day.  DON'T TAKE THE BAIT...YOU'LL WISH YOU HADN'T.  It's all about IDENTITY THEFT...don't give them what they want by getting back with them!

I've been getting messages on this theme for a while. They are a pretty obvious phishing scam. Most likely they're just sending their message out to every phone number hoping for a bite.  They don't have your number specifically.

You can always try calling customer service for your provider and asking them to refund the charges and do something about blocking SMS Spam (good luck).  You can also file a complaint with the FCC http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm but these are probably originating outside the US so there isn't a whole lot they can do besides take notes.
