Finally got a chance to call the number and received their IVR

The name of this company is web.com, they called a few times and told me they were part of the Disver Network and offered me a website service to increase my outflow and clientel. Last night they went ahead and without any approval from me they contacted Discover who simply does the billing for web.com and charged me account a $199.95 for service which I had no yet agreed to use. Today I called Discover Network and complained about the charge and they said, Discover Network has nothing to do with web.com other than billing their client, and they also said, web.com has no right to present themselves and solicit business assuring clients they are part of the Discover Network. I called web.com and requested and inmediate refunf of my funds and I assured them I will make the proper reports and complaints so they do not continue to do this to other business owners.

Website Pros at Discover Card is a third party contacting businessowners that have a merchant service account with Discover offering to build and maintain your website. They contacted me two years ago shortly after I contracted with Discover to take their credit card.

I've dealt with them (Website Pros) over the last few months. I do own a website. SO when they called me the first time, I thought it was a legit business call for me. But...
They talked to me as if they knew everything about me, but then asked me for my website address. I thought it was odd for them to call me about a website they didn't know the address to.
All they want to do is do a simple thing for a website to make it show up on search engines better. I can do THAT myself if I wanted to. But they want to charge $30-$60 a month for this crap service. And then when I tell them 'no' or 'call back in two months', I get another call in a week starting from square one as if it was the first time. So yeah. Ignore these people if you don't have business with them.

I got this call from this number: 877-339-1919. I called it back it's Website Pros Discover Card. I don't know how they got our number, but we are very sick of the calls. I refuse to answer it, now that I know who it is, but I hope somone will stop their calls.

Got the same thing here.  They call everyday. Told them to take me off the system.

You got it...this is the telemarketer--Website Pros on the Discover Network (8773391919).  Offshore, no doubt....calling my website development company to market us a website???? Dumbasses... ;-)

http://www.discover.websitepros.com/customer_resources.htm is the business.   I have them twice to remove my business from their telemarketing call list.

I got 2 missed calls this week from that number (1-877-339-1919).  I answered it today (1/24/08).  The person on the phone said "Hi, can I speak to Corey?  This is Jim.  Do you build websites?"  Since I do some online work here or there when I have time as part of my self-employment hobby, I said yes.  He said "OK" and hung up.

Googling it shows Discover Biz and Website Pros.  I'm very concerned as to the point after I answered it and had that conversation.

I called the number again and some lady answered from a company called Website Pros.  She couldn't explain why we were getting the calls, but said to disregard them.

The same thing is happening here.  We are also a business and answer the phone the same way.  We have yet to have someone on the line when we pick up, but it is still annoying! I called the number back and it was a loud beeping sound. I would like to know who is doing this!

They are calling on a regular basis and are either rude or hanging up. We are a business so we answer the phones with our name and the name of the business. On of the calls we received the guy on the other end just kept whispering the name of the girl who answered the phone over and over. I called the Local Police. I will post the outcome.

I got 2 calls from that number today.  googled and found this site.  As other people have mentioned, it appears to be owned by Discover.  I don't any accounts with them so i dont know why they would be contacting me.

I Googled the number after getting numerous calls (same thing, no message, no answer) -- and it appears to belong to Discover Card.

I'm getting that too! Arrgh!

I've been getting blank calls from this number for the past 2 weeks.  There is no message left, and no response when I pick up.  It's become a nuisance at the very least, and a problem at the worst.  I keep my cell phone on vibrate, I get calls from this number, and my cell phone battery dies, resulting in missed important calls.  I'd like to find out who is responsible for this harassment and report.  My cell-phone number is already on the do-not-call list.
