I HAVE BEEN HAVING SEVERAL PHONE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER SEVERAL TIMES FOR SEVERAL MONTHS, AND IT IS NOT EVEN CONCERNING ME. I HAVE ASKED THEM NOT TO CALL ANYMORE, BUT THEY KEEP CALLING. I AM TIRED OF IT.

Similar story here. I received a phone message from this number on 8.8.11.  The person's name to which the message was directed was a person I have never heard of nor has lived at my address or had my phone number which I've had for over 13 years.  I hope that these horrible people that seem to be in the realm of the "scammers" get a nice healthy dose of the karma they deserve.  My solution to this call was the erase/delete button.

I have gotten two of these calls this week saying I am going to served a summons at my work place for a payday loan from 2009 that did not clear my bank account.  This account has since been closed.  I called them back and they will not give my details on the loan.  They are in Beaverton, OR and seem to have many consumer complaints.  Moreover, when I pressed them for details over the phone for proof of the debt and how it will be settled, they could not reply.  To make matters worse, they are now searching the internet and calling my family.  It is upsetting them.  How can I get these people out of my life.  Can they legally do what they are doing?  I like in California.  Any advice out there??

I got a call from a Restricted Number today, telling me he was a process server and he was attempting to serve me with papers. He recommended I call 877-340-0410 and give them a case number.

I called this number, and spoke with someone named Mike in Legal. Mike couldn't provide me with any information on where this so-called court case was filed (what court and/or county), nor the case number.

He claims that they attempted to serve me at an address that I haven't lived at for who knows how long. I asked for the court name/county again, and he said he didn't have it.

After pushing a bit, I was transferred over to Jeremy, who was supposedly a legal assistant, who may have the information. Jeremy said they didn't have it, even though it was their company that filed the law suit (or so they say). When I asked who else I could speak with, he said no one. I asked for his manager, who (to no surprise) was not available. He then put me on hold, until it rang back to Steve, the receptionist ... who sounded oddly different than I had remembered when I spoke with him just a few minutes before.

He transferred me back to Jeremy, and I got a generic voicemail greeting.

I called back, and Steve's voice changed yet again ... surprise, surprise.

Send them a letter requesting validation of the debt (see sample below), and write them off. If someone really wanted to serve you with papers, they'd do it. It's not hard to find someone's address through the DMV/MVD, the county, or the State.
