This do***e bag just called my job and demanded to speak to my supervisor and the ceo of the company. Access was denied but the secretary gave me a message from this guy Mike Evans saying he wanted to "give me a chance to change the address of where my papers are going to be served" . Awfully nice of him. Can't see a sheriff doing the same. When I called him back on the 877 number they had my name but DOB,SSN,and middle name where Not correct. This creep was VERY rude on the phone too. He has been told not to contact my job again and he did call again. I told him to bring the papers!! I am in the process calling contect BBD.

The man I was transferred to after dialing 877-340-8129 and giving my sup-posed case # threatened that I was being sued by HSBC. I told him that I would wait for the subpoena. He then called me a loser and hung up on me.

The same EXACT thing just happened to me the other day.  Had me freaked out and worried for a minute.  It was when 'Kevin Becker' told me that apparently I don't want to pay off my debt and (I quote) "I will see you in court!" then he hung up on me.  I thought that was kind of fishy so I googled his name and the company doesn't exist.  All that exists is this blog right here!  I am contacting the BBB and reporting them.

This company called me telling me that they needed to serve me legal papers.  When I asked who the papers were from, I was told to call this 877 number.  I called and was told it was an attorneys office, harrison north and associates.  They were wanting to settle a debt ( that had been taken care of years ago)  They wanted me to give them my credit card information otherwise I would have to appear in court.  I did a little research, and the address to this "attorneys office" was a "mailboxes etc". and this "company" is a SCAM.
My husband then calls the "company" and a man answers the phone "Hello".  my husband told them he was going to report them to the BBB and the FBI for falsifying their identities  and threatening to take people to court.

The 951 numbers are typically the "process server" calls, made by stooges hired off the street. They pay them "commission only", so they have every incentive to sound officious, pretend to be sheriff's deputies, or whatever.  They are disposable, anyway.

The 877 numbers are typically the callback numbers to what they call a "filing firm", pretending to be "attorneys", although both phone locations could be in the same call center.  In this case they call themselves "Harrison North", just another front name for the Corona Scam.

If you did give them your information, they could look you up, find some old account on your credit report, and pretend you "owed" it to them.  Threaten you enough, maybe even imply you could go to jail, and some fraction of victims might fork over hundreds to a couple thousand before they know what's up.

However, they would probably rather focus on the person they claimed they were calling, since they already pulled his/her credit report before making the fake "process server" call to you.  It kind of loses the effect when you are already tipped off.

"Why ABUSE people just because they have the same last name as some-else."

Why?  Because this scam works by making an implied threat of an impending "lawsuit", and they routinely do this by calling relatives first, pretending to be a "process server", to create the appearance of this nonexistent "lawsuit".

Another shill.

Notice the deliberate inclusing of "details" to make the "debt" appear "legitimate", the apparent goal of the shill post.

Notice how they portray communications by email and FAX as normal routine practice, despite FDCPA requirement to send an FDCPA "g" letter within 5 days.  They want to avoid using the U.S. Mail, possibly to avoid mail fraud charges or creation of paper trail evidence.

Also note portrayal of likelihood of "debt" being passed from debt collector to debt collector, but still, we are to believe the debtor easily and quickly followed the trail and determined it was owned by this company.  (Remember, this scam always begins with a call from a fake "process server" implying a pending "lawsuit".)

This deceptive storyline is portrayed in a number of Corona Scam shill posts.

Shows common attributes of a typical Corona Scam shill post.

Lots of "details" to make it appear real.
Attempts to portray the "debt collector" and "debt" as "legitimate".
Attempts to portray the "settlement" as a "good deal".
Attempts to portray some "settlement letter" as substantiation for this "debt", diverting others from the real issue, that none of these "debts" are ever validated with documentation from any original creditor, and that instead, the response to validation requests is an attempt at deceptive diversion.  The deception is in portraying a "settlement letter" as normal debt collection practice, rather than sending validation on request as required by law.
And having reached this wonderful "settlement", WHY is "Helpfull" showing up here?

Shill.

Just got an anonymous call, they left a voice mail asking me to call 1-877-340-8129.   Voice mail says they called from 951-256-3758.  951 number is just a rapid busy signal.  877 won't tell you what it is if you are not the person and I don't just give my info to anyone.

Does anyone have a name/address for this company?
Surgery and job loss 4 years ago caused me to default on all of my credit cards.
It seems like this is a zombie collection agent trying to sue before the statue of limitations runs out in a few months. I'd really like to investigate this further, but need more details on the company.

Some lady called and asked my wife if she knew some guy. The person on the phone kept giving unwanted, un solicited information on that guy. Who cares? Why ABUSE people just because they have the same last name as some-else. This lady on the phone and her handlers need to be sued for as much as possible.

Did you hang up on the person and call back to get a manager. I had this going on with me as well seemed unfair and high to me so the rep would not transfer me so i ended call and then called back and got a Manger on the phone advised Him of the matter he said hold on will review file and then gave me a break down of why balance was where it is but would be willing to take settlement offer to client if i wanted to get a lower deal. but would need to be paid that day in 1 payment. So i told him give me a hour make some calls and call back. He said ok thanks for calling. they wanted 2300.00 from me to settle I was able to raise just over 1200.00  good that day. So i called him back he said hold will see if can do this after a few minutes on hold came back advised me sorry cant go that low how ever they would meet me in the middle and offered me 1750.00 and would do 1200.00 now then final payment in 10 days so i asked for a letter and he replied ok need a fax number or e mail that can send now i gave him the fax number he said hold on for few minutes will get letter done and came back said he is going to fax this now and i received the letter showing new offer. So i gave them my debit card to do the payments.

I received a Message from these guys as well. So I called them and was advised that this was about  a the Debt I had over a year ago when I lost my job and did not have funds to pay. They advised me of the balance and settlement it seemed high to me, so i asked how is this balance so high was advised of the Late fee's over limit fee's and intrest was raised to default rate of 32.98 per the contract. I asked for the number to the credit card company top verify this info and was told to hold on will get that number and then the person came back gave me the number and also advised me that this account had been sold more then 1 time so be prepared to call a couple different place's.

So i called the creditor first to verify this info as after seeing all this felt like a scam as well after calling the third number that was given to me they gave me this 877 number to call as they are handling my account, So I called them back and wanted to work out payments was advised best could do is try to get settlement that had expired re offered to me if i'm able to raise funds with a down payment then final payment they only give me a 5 to 7 day window to raise. i ok and took deal they asked for my e mail or a fax line to send over agreement to me before paying anything. I gave them the e mail and with in 30 minutes I received my letter and called them back and gave my info to them to set up payments.

This company is rude and foul, called back this number for a debt I assume and the people started screaming at me on the phone to pay my debt, the guy hung up on me and was not a very respectable person, funny if you want someone to pay a debt ,you think you would be nice to them and try to give them the information so it can be resolved, now since all this drama happen my lawyer will handle this since I got the conversation recorded, and documented.

Total scammer's . They called my mom and said that I had a summons to be in court tomorrow. They wanted me to call this number 877 340 8129 only to find out that they wouldn't tell where or what this company was untill I gave them my case #. Which I would'nt do.   They also called months ago and told my mom they were going to call the cops if I didn't pay back the money...I would pay back my measly $500 dollars I had max out on my credit card but they say i owe 1,800. Hows that fair. I recently got laid off and also had a heart attack on christmas night. If they would settle for less then what I borrowed I would gladly make a deal. But they want mt to pay 1,000 for only borrowing $500.
