Who is texting me?

I got a text asking me to call back but I don't know who it is and why they are calling. Anyone else know?

This number is a part of Careers Inc, which is a verification service
for employers for hundreds of different job boards. I'm a
representative of Careers and would like to clarify why you're getting
a text from us on this number.

We receive a large quantity of resumes for thousands of positions
across the country, and our job is to verify that your contact
information is correct. Employers use Careers because they get such a
massive response to job postings. It's very hard for any company to
sort through interested applicants - people are not reachable, their
phone numbers are disconnected, or their email is invalid or typo'd on
their resume. This leads to frustration on both ends, where applicants
receive no response and employers get bad contact info for an
otherwise qualified individual.

Careers attempts to contact applicants to confirm that their
information is correct - if it is not, then we help them to correct it
and update the employer on the applicant's status.

We do not ask for any sensitive information such as SSN. We do not
charge for our service. We will never ask you for anything beyond
confirming what's already in your resume on file.

I called back the service.. there was a woman named Teresa she asked me verification questions.  Strictly just the ones that were on my resume' ... name phone address basic contact info,  level of education, asked me if I was interested in further education,  the call took about 2 minutes.  She was very nice and polite.  Said they would pass on my application and that any further contact would be made by the company that actually is considering the app for the position.

She never asked me anything personal like soc or date of birth never asked me for money or credit card info. nothing financial in any respect.

IMO.. seems ok.

Hi I received a text back as well and called, waited for someone to answer and they did in a couple of seconds, the lady who ansered for me was named Monica but it was a call center (I could here other people in the background).  When I called she must have pulled up my info from cell ( I didn't giver her the number) since it is on my resume and she already had my name and address.  If your resume is posted on public sites like careerbuilder, monster, hot jobs or dice.com then it looks like whatever info you put on the resume is viewable.  Also she explained that she had a series of questions to ask me for the employer which could take 20 to 45 minutes.  She asked me a couple of questions similar to what you would see on career builder such as are you 18 or older, education status and the like.  I was on the phone for about 5 minutes and I just received another text from her with her name and a phone number.  Note: When I asked her which company it was for, she said it was listed as confidental and she did not no but that when she forward my resume to them someone from that company would call me if then needed more infomration.  

If you don't want to receive their text messages text the word STOP back to them.

This is a legit. company.  They are just calling to verify all info recently submitted to an employer.  My process took about 2 minutes start to finish.
