No, the caller merely *claimed* to be visiting in person, and of course never did. Am I right? The given return number will likely connect to a "closer" within a fraudulent debt collection office for more of the same illegal threats.

This could be the usual US lawbreaker or a fake collector from overseas. Try to get a business name and share it with the readers. By federal law this name cannot be withheld. Learn how to exercise your FDCPA rights as an alleged debtor at FTC-dot-gov.

Did you ever get served?  My husband received the same phone call yesterday but he wouldn't identify who filed the claim or who he worked for.  Frank Murphy gave the same threat of coming to our home to serve him if he didn't receive cease & desist orders.

I didn't catch the first name but the last name was Murphy. He said something about some company that wants to sue me but didn't identify that company. Said I would have to call the number to find out who it is. Also, he's coming to my job and my residence to give me paperwork to sign.
