I received a "$49,000 Instant Gold Giveaway!" offer in the mail with this phone number listed. The prizes listed included a new car or the cash, a $2,000 shopping spree or 7-night Club Med vacation, an island adventure, or $500 cash.  If you "respond within 72 hours" you receive an Android 7" tablet.  Club Med and Android logos were featured prominently outside and within the mailing.

Like others have posted, the fine print says you have to sit through a 90 minute timeshare presentation by Goldrush Getaways.  The odds of winning notice indicates that the island getaway is most likely to be won with odds of 7,054:7,200.  From my past experience at sitting through a timeshare presentation which resulted in a "free" stay, you may get the free accommodations but need to provide your own transportation to the location.  It's usually a battle with the sales people to get past the sales negotiation to the final prize selection.  Also, talking with people who have done this in the past, it's highly probably that you'll lose a day of that vacation when you're sequestered for more sales pitches on site at the resort.

Yeah, I just got one in the mail too. I knew something was suspicious since the only names were Microsoft and Android and Polaroid. Then on the back it said Goldrush Getaway. I read the "fine" print and it said you had to sit through a 90 minute presentation. I went to one years ago and sat through the show. After it was over, I tried to leave and they put a sales pitch to me. I kept saying no, no, no and finally I said NO! They finally got the message I did not want to buy a time share or anything else. The reluctantly gave me the prizes that was offered. I can't remember what it was, but it was nice. My daughter and son-in-law signed up for one at Bass Pro-Shops for one in Las Vegas and they went ahd stayed at the hotels and took advantage of the offers and they did not have to buy anything. The company WANTED them to, but they could not afford it and when the company found out, they let them leave peacefully. So, to answer your question, I think they are legit about the prizes. However, I find it very hard to believe myself and would not fall for it. Just my point of view.

Just called it. It's a travel agency doing a promotional thing. Sounds like they want you to go in and sit through a 90 min. presentation on travel. I got a similar phone message a while back saying i won a free trip to hawaii and they wanted me to come in for the same thing. I never did it and dont know if its really a scam after the end of the presentation. Has anyone else ever done this? do they really give you the prize at the end?

I just got the same message too. Did anyone call it yet? It does sound too good to be true. I cant find any company listing for the phone number using a reverse lookup, so I'm guessing its a scam.
