It will never end.  Don't think for a minute the banks really care.  If you're a victim of identity theft they won't do anything to help.  In this situation you are guilty and will need to jump through hoops to prove your innocent.  The system sucks.

Text msg 5/22/10 10PM. Same text message as stated above. I called 877-359-4810, recording said input my account number.  I did not do so and recording repeated itself 3 times then told me account suspended.  Checked online and account is fine.  Don't fall for this!

Same deal for me.  Tmobile phone number also like someone else reported.  Tried to call Chase's number on my debit card but unavailable at this time.  I would think Chase would have 24/7 operator support.  What else is the benefit of big banks? Haha

Got the same message on my cell on 5/22 to call 877-359-4810. Called it and got a recording asking for my credit card #. I hung up. Then got a call from 303-665-7000 about an hour and a half later. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. SCAM.

Roommate and I received text(s) from "automatic@chaseonline.chase.com" informing us to call 18773594810 regarding recent account activity. First checked accounts on computers and nothing abnormal. When I called the number it informed me that my account was suspended and they needed to verify information. THIS IS A SCAM! THIS IS AN ATTEMPT AT EXTORTION! Report this number to your banker or do it online. This must stop. I've noticed a 250% increase in these scams being delivered to my e-mail and text msg systems.
This needs to end. What will it take?

Same number, same message.

1. Chase's short-code is five digits (letters for CHASE = 24273), not the four-digit short-code the message originated from.
2. The message did not include my name. Chase knows my name and would include it in an official message.
