Received 2 calls from this number today within 30 minutes.  I picked up the second call and simply stated "we are on the do not call registry".  There was silence for a second or so and then a man said "hello is this....", I interrupted him and repeated that we are on the do not call registry.  He then said, "oh, sorry mam" and hung up.  I can guarantee you that they will call again and again and again.  I haven't been able to stop a single telemarketer from calling my office repeatedly since even before the Feds dreamed up the bogus "Do not Call Registry".  The Federal system doesn't scare the telemarketers away because the Feds, even though they receive millions of complaints each day about the violations do not take action against them.  I report these calls to the DNC, FTC and the FCC every time I get a call and none of the agencies take action.  You waste your breath telling the telemarketers to remove your name and information from their database.  They might tell you they are going to do it right away and try feeding you a line of "bull" that it could take up to 30 days before it becomes effective but that is an out and out lie.  They do nothing.  If they did it, it would take no more than a click of the computer button called "delete" to remove your information from their database.  They must really think we are stupid idiots.  Maybe they are right because we depend on the Federal Goverment to enforce their laws.  They won't unless it becomes self serving to each of them as individuals.
Only way to not put yourself in the position of speaking to a telemarketer is simply don't answer the phone.  If your caller ID reads "out of ara" or any form of the 800 toll free calling number series, unavailable and calls from outside the state (unless you deal with out of state clients) DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE. THey will continue to call your number but only get the answering machine and they will ALWAYS hang up and NEVER leave a message.  (Unless their call is a recorded message and capable of detecting the answering machine pick up tone)  Then the message you hear is only part of the message because while your "outgoing message" is playing their recorded message is activated and starts playing.  The only way to get rid of the telemarketers from calling you is to go out of business.  Fortunately, I am retiring the end of this year and the business retires with me so I won't have to be bothered by the telemarketing world of robotic morons for the rest of my life.  There are blue skies ahead for me!

same crap no msg left on voice mail just background noise. i did send a msg to yellow pages because online they state my  company is out of business. i got sick of them calling. no one spoke english. didn't trust them so we told that the company was called Bill's. if this is actually ran by A.T & T as stated they would know the number was active. think it is coming from overseas and A. T. & T is that cheap. WHEN YELLOW BOOK OF KCMO CALLED I REFUSED THEM AND TOLD THEM OF THE SLURPIE CLERKS THAT HAVE BEEN CALLING USING THEIR COMPANY NAME. I TOLD THEM I WOULD NOT BE PURCHASING ANY ADVERTISING UNTIL IT STOPS!

Someone please find out who this is that keeps calling. I finally answered and they wanted to make sure my phone number was correct to my business. So, what business am I suppose to have? I asked what co. is this calling and she mumbled something along the lines of yellow pages advertising, wanting to make sure my phone # is....
I do not believe that this is a yellow page advertising co. for one minute. The person couldn't even speak clearly and stalled in trying to tell me who they are.

Someone find out who that are. If they can't leave a message then they are out to no good.

They just called.  I saw caller ID said "Toll Free" so I waited to see what the message was.

No message.

Telemarketer
Persistent jerks, I have to give them that.  They (like all other telemarketers) do not leave messages on answering machines.  For the love of God I can't imagine why they would not.  With the exception that they are as crooked as the day is long and they want to keep their contact as low key as possible.  If they were to leave a message that message might be used against them in a court of law.  That would be the only reason I can think of.
They called my office line 3 times this morning, first one was at 9:23 AM the second one at 9:34 AM and the third was at 9:52 AM.  Of course they only got the answering machine because I was on a location job.  That leaves the office unmanned as I am the only office personnel.  However, they will never reach me because I screen all calls and any 800 series phone calls are sent directly to the answering machine because I am experienced with telemarketers.  They can ring the phone off the wall if they want but they will never speak to me.  I don't like them, they are 99.9% of the time scam artists trying to find ways to make you believe that you have agreed to pay some outrageous amount for their "non-product".  I don't know what telemarketing group this is but they are wasting their time trying to reach anyone at this office.

If only the Federal Government would get off their happy fat rears and address the telemarketing harrasment issue with effort instead of coming up with this useless Do not Call Registry that does absolutely nothing to curtail the calling.  Complaints are not addressed.  They are placed in a data base that law enforcement and officials 'might' utilize in an investigation.  They do not make the telemarketers stop calling.  The FTC has made it almost imposible for a citizen to file a formal complaint with them.  The form they have on their website does not allow you to address harrassing telemarketing calls unless they are war dialing or cramming calls.  They do say they have a form for harrassing telemarketing calls but it is no longer available online and the number they provide for you to call and obtain the form is a non existing number.  Why am I not surprised?
So the best bet is don't answer 800 calls.  If the caller using an 800 number is legit they will leave a message for you and you can get back to them if need be.  Otherwise don't answer the phone.  I have managed to keep on working and get my office work done while the 800 callers listen to the answering machine and then hang up.  (Yep, telemarketer that didn't hit a mark here and never will!)
