I receive this call a half dozen times a day also.

I had no ideal Direct T.V was harassing me until I decided to report this number and read comments. I receive calls from this number 5times in 1 hr.When I finally pick up the phone they never said anything just silence on the phone.I called back to find out what company was this and who where they looking for? They told me they were not allowed to give that information out. Crazy

i received call telling me this is attempted to collect a debt,  my number is pay as you go and it is only 1 week old. I called Direct Tv and told them I paid my bill and I have a credit on my account. I was informed that they will document that I received a call and there will be no other calls. I was informed that no one should have called me to begin with.

It is illegal in the USA for any debt collector to call before 8am or after 9pm in the time zone they are calling, so don't let them feed you that line of "well, it's only 8pm in my time zone". Had one try to use that on my mom in the past. She was paying them what she could afford each month, but they wanted more, luckily she knew her rights and told them off...Then she reported them to the BBB.

they call twice every morning, at 8:03 and 8:05 am. No one ever answers and when I try to call the number back, I usually get a message saying they are a collection agency and are trying to collect a debt, then the phone hangs up.

Until now, I have had no way of communicating with them at all, other than the phone ringing on my end. After several attempts to contact them I was able to speak to one gentleman who seemed to be in a very bad mood, who hung up on me when I asked them not to call me any more, and they have continued to call me every week day right at 8:03 and 8:05. (I have to assume there is a computer which is controlling this..).

yes its happening to me to , so i just called them they told me they will remove this number from the list dring 28 hours, so lets wait nd see, but it sucks i dont understand whats going on,,,

Oh my god i hate this number i got a new phone and the second day they started calling Me now i get calls every single freking day i dint give them my new number i have no idea how they got it this same happens to my mom we just hear some music playing and Im so tired of this ahhhh wtf is their problem they call every morning they  call about everyday like a 9 something in the morning i hate when they do this to me just i want them to stop calling ;(

This number calls all the time we have direct tv but it comes out on auto pay and there last call was tonight at 10:30pm. I have an auto blocker app like they have an auto dialer. That logs everytime they call. NEVER EVER PAY A 3rd PARTY ALWAYS PAY THE DEBTOR DIRECTLY AND GET IT IN WRITING THE DEBT HAS BEEN PAID NO MATTER WHAT....

I have directv. It got disconnected. The same day that it got disconnected, I called DIRECTV to make pmt arrangements, got the arrangement approved by management AT DIRECTV, then this number starts calling. Why are they calling if I already have arrangements!!! Leave me alone!! And they call at least 2-3 times a day!!! Ugh!!!!!

This company has called several times during the weekend before normal business hours and just plays their on hold music. I dialed *69 and got the number. I called them back and got a woman who refused to tell me what the company does exactly and why they are calling and not identifying themselves or their purpose for calling. I told her I will report her to the FBI Fraud department, and she said "that's fine." I think I will report the company for harassment.

i have gotten this call too.. and it places me on hold when i answer and when i call it back nobody answers... how do i get it to stop... and to tell me what is going on???

they are calling 3 and4 times a day never say anything just hold the line open and play marching band music.

We get calls from 877-371-1823.  
We do not owe Direct TV any money.
Our contract with Direct TV had expired and
we recently changed to Comcast.

i've just purchased one new cell phone and about one hour after activation i got the missed call for this number. i called back and i got the msg of "we will record the call for quality purposes" and then nothing else happened...

I was at work when my mobile phone rang briefly (less than a full ring). Caller ID showd 877-371-1823. When I got back to my desk, my desk phone reported it had received a call from this number. When I got home, my home phone had been tapped as well, all within a couple minutes of each other. Called the number back from home and, like others have said, a recording says they are something that sounds like "CollecTech", that it is related to a collection, and my call may be recorded for "quality assurance" purposes. Did a quick free credit report (my company "lost" my SSN a while back), but nothing appears amiss.

I can see how they could get and correlate my home and mobile phone numbers, but how did they get my work number? Really, who are these guys and what do they want?

I have been harassed with calls from this number for the last three months. I do not answer the calls.

I just want to know who is calling me from these numbers.  I never answer, and can never get anyone on the phone when I call back.  Is a person, a company, a machine or what?

I get calls from this number on my cell phone.  This number calls as early as 6:30 am and once as late as midnight. Do not know what they want, since the two times I did answer I was put on hold for three minutes and then disconnected, and the other times they do not leave a message.

If it is Direct TV, cause all it says on my caller ID is Toll Free.I can say.  I have direct TV, but I do not owe them, nor do they have my cell phone anywhere in their records as a contact number. But direct TV does have this "Advance Billing" policy, where they bill you for a month in advance. so you do not even have to use the service and you will owe them. Example, since it is January now, Lets use the billing cycle of charged on the 1st and due on the 5th. One Jan 1 DTV will bill you for service from Feb 1 2010 to March 1 2010. If by Jan 5th you have not paid that, DTV will then cut off your satelite signal and send you to collections for what you owe them. What you owe them, is the service provided from Feb 1 2010 to March 1 2010. because they bill in advance. so they send you to collection for not paying for service they have not provided you with.

Ah, only in America do we allow corporations to do such corrupt things and get away with it. Because we as people, tolerate it and allow it.

The best thing people can do here, is file a complaint with the FTc and write your elected representatives. And I suggest doing such. Or if you really want to tell your story you can e mail investigations@thezerovoidshow.com. It just may make the show.

the one time I answered, I waited for 1/2 hour. And no one came on the line. It was just that stupid recording that all agents are busy. It's really a stupid system which should be illegal if they aren't on the line ready to speak to you.

I answered but no one said anything.  I called back and voicemail said company was CollectTec (sp?) and purpose of call was to collect a debt.

They kept calling me and wont ID themselves!!! Stop those thieves!!!

6:55 AM on Thursday morning and I'm getting a call with no one on the other line. How is this even legal?

if you got a call that early in the morning, save the itemized bill from your phone company, and next time they call tell them you are suing them for violating the fair debt collection practices act by calling you that early and that you will be seeking the entitled damages.  I had  debt collector call me, told them that and haven't heard from them since.

These people are a company called CollecTech Systems, Inc. I will have their address at the end of the message. I received a call from this phone number on January 23, 2011 at 4:51. I missed their call, and they didn't leave a message. I didn't notice that they called me until I checked my phone on January 24th, 2011. I called them back and sat on hold for about half an hour after their recording said that they were trying to do something about a debt. When they finally answered, they said they were calling out of Los Angeles, California. They wouldn't give me their name. They wouldn't give me their address either. I finally resorted to looking them up on Google.
