I have done the same thing.  I applied for 2 jobs and then I get a text message about wanting to talk to me about a job application I applied for.  This sucks !!!!

Yeah.....also applied on Geebo. Going half way through their site filling out an application I figured something is not right. It's a shame that there are companies out there taking advantage of job seekers only to sell their services. Did not call back just sent text back asking them for their name and what position I applied for. Did not get a response back. Bet it's some telemarketing company trying to sell something.

I also received a text message almost immediately from 312-488-1952 stated that they would like to speak with me about the position that I applied on their job board.  Call 877-373-4904.  Text Stop to cancel.  I decided to look this up as it came across my phone immediately after I hit send for the position that I was applying for.

Thank goodness,you guys were here or i would have called this number,,I just got one too,What can we do to stop these idoits???Plus ,it does get your hopes up high when you are seriously looking for a Job,We need to stop them from doing this to other people.

I got the same message everyone else has been getting too!! The only difference is that the phone number I got it from was (312) 488-1952 instructing me to call 877-373-4904 or to text STOP. Thank you all who have posted from saving us from another fraudster. Good luck on all of your job searches!

I think I had applied on Geebo for a company last night. I had filled a dubious application form I feel.

Thank you to everyone who posts on this site (my favorite weird-number-lookup website) as after reading all the posts I decided not to call and just texted "STOP" and received a message back saying that I had successfully unsubscribed.
I remember when I was online job hunting last night I was using one of those job listing hubs that pulls from all listing websites like careerbuilder.com, monster.com, etc. When you click "Apply Now" in one of those hubs, it takes you to whatever parent website has it posted. One job I applied for took me took a job posting website I had never been on before, but since I really wanted to apply for that particular job I clicked on, I proceeded to fill out the information and attached my resume. That was one of the very few posting sites I can think of that required a phone number. I'm betting that's how this third party got my phone number.
No big deal to me, it was just as simple as looking the number up and responding with STOP, but just some insight for those who might be trying to figure out how they might have been contacted...just think of if you have been on any low-budget job posting websites lately. There was a disclaimer that said by clicking submit I agree to be contacted for employment, education opportunities, and some other sales things...so I was expecting some b.s. texts for a bit.

These calls seem to continue, as I just received the following text from 312-488-1952 : "Hi Leonard! We'd like to speak with you about the position you applied for on our job board. Call 8773734904 Text STOP to cancel." I did not respond, and I thank all who have posted info here.

I had the same text from 3126472173 and asked me to contact 8773734904 or text stop to cancel. After reading these posts here I decided not to contact them. Thank you all for sharing these information here.

I just received the same text from 1-312-647-2173, too generic and very abnormal way to contact a potiential canidate. Thank you to all of the above comments as I have now decided not to respond as a result.

Same happened to me. The text said it was in response to a job I applied for. Because it was so vague and generic I googled this phone number, found these posts and chose not to respond. Thank you.

I got a message today from 1-312-647-2173 with a text message saying "We'd like to speak with you about the position you applied for on our job board. Call 8773734904 Text Stop to cancel."  After reading this message board I decided not to call because I did not recognize the numbers.  I'm glad these posts were here to warn me.  

Toni I received the same exact text message. Mine was in response to a job search though. They verified my generic info (address, phone number,  etc.). If they had asked for my social security number I would have ended the call immediately. Only thing I can think of is that it's a telephone exchange, or depot, or whatever they are called.

I received a text message from 1-312-647-2173 telling me that they wanted to speak to me about a job I had posted on their job board.
gave me 1-877-373-4904 to talk to them. When I called that number it is for Revolution Golf Membership. They said that they do not have text ability and do not know how they got that number.
