I keep getting calls from this number and they mumble something that doesn't make since.  Called them, they wanted to talk to a person I don't even know and never heard of. Then they ask for my son.   I told them they were a scam and that I knew more than they did.  They kept trying to talk over me and I hung up on them.  They haven't called again.

This is a scam racket, trying to extort money from people.  Do Not call them back.  

I just received a call from this number saying he was with the Fraud Dpt of HSBC and he was investigating some fraud case from the NY police department about my credit card.   I told him that all cards were replaced and that if he had any forms I wasn't faxing them or emailing them to put them in the mail.

They call everyday and I just let my machine pick it up. When I call back, I can never reach a human being. Sounds like a scam.

I just got my new number 2 months ago. These people are looking for someone else. I told them MANY times you got the wrong person. I'm sick and tired of them calling me. Would not give me a name and sometimes I get silence on the line. Now I know who they are because of this thread. People need to pay the bills they owe so we don't get calls like this.

Caller ID says "Cedar Rapids, IA."  Phone msg left on answering machine says "This is a call from a debt collector, CBC Group (?) (garbled: could be "CDC Group"), call back at 877-224-6529."

I blocked the number.

I know I don't have any overdue debts, but these companies search on our rather unusual last name, and call everyone with the same last name.

They just started today three calls no one on the other line. I will ignore, wonder if it is who is calling on my boyfriends cell phone I will have to check. So annoying.

this company buts out of date debt and tries to collect on it. Check you state laws fro statue of limitations on contract dept. Do not answer the phone ignor the calls, write a ceas and assist letter to the company and send it to the FTC.

Same activity as others have reported.  Call at least twice a day: once early in morning (usually right around 9am) and again around 3pm.  Typical of a lot of collection outfits probably looking for someone else.  Best to send written (email would work) complaint to your state AG and the FTC, especially if you have already requested them to stop calling you looking for information on someone else.  Such activity may violate the law in your state (it does in Rhode Island).

They just called for a Kevin Oneal. No one ever lived here with that name. But had a female roommate with same last name 4 years back.  Could there be a coincidence? And she has been dead for over 3 years I hear.

We get called from this number several times a day, they do not leave a message and is a Toll Free Call, so I do not answer...who are these people and how can I get them to stop calling?

I receive a call from this number about twice each day, a little after 8 AM and then a little past 10:00 AM.  I have decided to use my GOOGLE phone to call them back a few dozen times when I have nothing better to do.  A different person answers and says this call is recorded.  Then I hang up and call them again.  If I can figure out how to do it I would like to have my computer call them every minute just for payback.  They do not leave a message so I won't talk, just call.

Get calls 2-4 times a day. When I don't answer they call back using unknown number. Weeks of this junk and I am on DO NOT CALL list....

This is Allied Interstate, a third party collection agency. If you want to stop the calls, send them a cease communication letter VIA certified mail with return receipt requested informing them the person they are after has not lived here in twenty years, they are to stop calling or you will take legal action against them for harassing a non-debtor.

Who are these people? They call all hours and will not give me informayion as to why they are calling. The person they are after lived here in the early 1990's

I get calls from this number 4 times per day, every day on a 2 hour interval.  It's a brand new home phone, so they could only have gotten my info from my home phone provider, which bothers me.  Clearly there is no reason to answer.  Unplug your phone if you have that luxury.

Solution to the problem:  Install Caller ID service and just ignore any number (or name) you do not recognize.

I just put them on the don't call list after I asked them to take me off the list.
I gave them my number (they are calling my fax number) and they could not find the number.
After that they wanted my name and the number that I called from (because it is an unlisted number and so is my fax).
If they don't have my number how come they call me? They are rude and have no clue what they are doing.
The lady got nmasty with me and told me she could not do anything without my name. So you have my number because you call me but not my name. What is this?? They must be phising.

I just returned their 8 calls just from today and they told me who they were looking for and I told them they had the wrong number and they said they would remove my number immediately.....they were looking for my boyfriend, but they pronounced his name wrong.....LOL

Calls 6-8 times a day...not me that they are looking for but won't take me off of the list!

They start calling between 7 & 8 am every morning and the calls continue almost hourly til 10pm. I pick up every time & there is nothing but silence. After 3 weeks of this, I'm blocking their number today! :O

This number calls us 6-8 a day and disrupts our business. When we answer no one is on the other end, When we try to return the call, no luck.
