I have verified this number twice, this is in fact a SunTrust Bank number. I had to activate my debit card.

Suntrust Bank.  They were calling me about security issues...  It was a bogus call, I would not give them any information....

I have had several calls from this number.  I called back once and received an automated message about activating my new card.  Rule of thumb, never give out any information to any business over the phone if THEY are the ones calling you.

Got a call from this number several times and they leave a message about activiating my new Suntrust card. It was a female and she sounded very professional as if she really knew what she was talking about. I have been called several times by them. I never pick up the call and they have only left a message once although I have several missed calls from them. Thanks to the blog I have been warned!

Please read post I just posted few minutes ago about this phone number. It is not fraud and a ligitimate Suntrust number. I verified it this afternoon from my local Suntrust bank.

I received my phone bill today & was charged a return a call charge of $1.10 for a direct call to this number. Since I scrutinize all my bills, I got online and found all the posts below. Well I almost had heart attack because I had activated my new check card with Suntrust. Called my Suntrust bank and got everything verified. This is a ligitimate Suntrust phone number, my card is ligitimate and they did switch from Visa to Master Card last year. So don't get all stressed out when you read the other posts. My bank gave me the balance of my account and had the correct number that was on the new card. Now I can rest about that but will now tackle Century Link about charging me for an 800 number that should not be charged to me according to Suntrust. You have to check every little thing on your bills nowadays. I have been with Century Link and all the prior companies leading up to them for over 30 years and can't believe how much is being slipped in on you. I was being charged on my phone bill to block collect calls and just found this out 2 months ago. I have never received a collect call. So my advice to everyone is don't trust anyone, business or otherwise. Everyone is after the dollar today. Hope this puts this rumor to rest since it is not true on this phone number. 877-377-9210 is a Suntrust number.

We received an E-mail message to activate our Sun Trust debit card.  On the message it gave the 877-377-9210 phone number to call to activate the card. When called, they wanted to know the full number.. I knew the bank would know the full number so it was some kind of fraud.  They actually had the last 4 digits of one of our cards.  We called Sun Trust at their real phone number and the message did not come from them. This card is to be cancelled ASAP. and the info sent to the bank.

I just made a complaint on the national do not call list website.  They are not supposed to call and leave recorded messages if you are not their customer you should make a complaint so it will be investigated.

I got a message on my answering machine yesterday on December 29th saying they sent a new card that needed activated and to call (877) 377-9210 or the card would not be activated.  At the very end the message said "thank you for banking with contra  bank" (they did not say suntrust bank).  Obviously I did not call back.  I have never heard of contra bank and have nothing to do with them or with suntrust bank. This is phishing fraud.

Today I received a letter from SunTrust with this same phone number on it, telling me to activate my new check card by January 15th. I became very worried and called the bank at their main 800 number. It turns out, at least for me, this is not a scam. They really are switching everyone with a Visa check card to Mastercard, and have been sending the cards out for several months now. Mine was sent in September but I never received it. Their use of robodialers is still deplorable, though.

Automated call telling me to activate my new SunTrust check card. I am a SunTrust customer but haven't gotten a new card in several years. I got suspicious and hung up without talking to anyone.

I received a call from 877-377-9210 today, asking if I had received my new Suntrust card and if I wanted to activate it. I do have a Suntrust card, so I pressed the number to say that I had not received the new card, which sent me to  a customer service representative. She attempted to verify that I had a Suntrust Mastercard, which I do not (my card is not a Mastercard!), and then asked "for security reasons" if she could verify the last four digits of my social security number. I declined. My bank calls me occasionally, and when they call you they NEVER ask to verify your information, only if you call them.

I got the call asking for my husband. We have join account at Suntrust so I thought it was real. The voice asked me to press 1 if I have account with Suntrust, so I did. Then it asked me if I was my husband, I was not so I pressed 5. And then come to that point I felt it was weird, so I hung up and looked up the number online. I hope I won't get involved into any sort of things coz I pressed the numbers....

I feel sorry for people who aren't up to date on the scumbags of the world who are trying to rip you off. There are a lot of elderly folks who will surely fall prey to these idiots. Do your older friends & family a favor & tell them about this sort of thing.

Hello. I got a phone call and they left message about active my new card. but I don't want it so I called them back and give my ss# and made cancel that card...
After I did, I looked up this number here and many said this number is fraud..
Geodad left real suntrust #.. 800-786-8787.
So I called them to make sure 877-377-8210 is Suntrust or not..
Suntrust rep said.. 877-377-8210 is also one of Suntrust # and they left those message these days....

Received two calls from this number which claims to be SunTrust and wants me to activate my new card. I called the main Suntrust number and they said it is not them, just a phishing attempt.

THIS IS FRAUD !!  If you do a google search for this number it shows up as www.suntrust.com/Microsites (not a Suntrust website).  It takes you to a page that is similar to Suntrust but with this fraudulent phone number.  DONT FALL FOR THIS !!!  Call your branch or the fraud unit (get it from the bank).

I received a call on my cell phone also, a number I never give to banks.  I also do not have an account at Suntrust.  It was an automated call telling me to activate my new card, their accounts changing from Visa to Mastercard (or vice versa, I dont remember).  I called the number back and they answered it "Suntrust Bank".   They asked for my account number and I refused, telling them to look it up by my last name.  They told me that "they didnt have access to that."  I told them I'd contact my branch and refused to give them any information.

Received a call from this number on Dec. 1st - no name showed up on my phone so I did not answer it.
No message was left. Reading the above comments, this definitely sounds like an attempt to phish information...Beware!!!
Currently, I do not have nor have I ever opened a Suntrust account

Alan, I hope you didn't give the callers any information. Sounds like a telephone "phishing" expedition. If you gave any sensitive information, you need to pro-actively start damage control.

I've received two calls (one in the evening, one in the morning), both of which I missed, no messages were left.  When I called back there was a voice recording asking me to have my new suntrust debit mastercard number ready for them to activate...They are switching over, but when I called a number on suntrust they informed me that suntrust will never call to ask for information (to activate your card, call the number you receive in the letter only).
This is likely a scam to get your debit number.

We received a call today. We do not have an account with Sun Trust. When I called to inquire, they wanted a social security number to look up the account.  I refused and was told to go to a local Sun Trust bank.
