I've been getting calls from this number twice every day with no idea who it's from.  They ask for a certain person and won't idenify themselves.  Now I let the phone ring without answering when this number calls us.  This has been going on for several months.

It's Wells Fargo telemarketers. Wells Fargo bought out a lot of banks in the past few years (Wachovia is one of them), so they have access to all those bank customers. I understand they are trying to sell some "new" service or something. Very annoying!

Started getting calls from 877-380-8476 two weeks ago on my business line.  I only give that number to certain people so I do not answer calls from phone numbers that I do not recognize and let it go to voice mail.  No message is ever left. I refuse to call them back unless they leave a message telling me why they are calling.

By the way, they also call from 877-342-0262 and 877-829-9384. We've been getting calls from all the Wells Fargo numbers for months now.  I have a phone that blocks unwanted calls so once I get a call from a number, into the blocked list it goes. The 380-8476 is a new one as of today but the others have been calling. I wrote the president of Wells Fargo a letter about 2 weeks ago telling him if the calls and mail solicitations didn't stop, I was switching banks. This is not how you treat good customers. I have opted out of all their information yet they chose to ignore that.

Yes this is Wells Fargo.  If you call the number back you indicate that you do not wish to receive any more calls.  They still do not stop.  They just change the number every month.  Wells Fargo has cheaped the quality service I use to receive from Wachovia.  They must  be hard up to cheat someone in one of their scheme which they call promotions.  I have blocked this number for the month and will block their new number again next month.  As the end of the month approaches the number of calls increase.  They completely ignore my request to not receive any more calls.

Received another phone call from this number today, October 12, 2010. They talked with my husband, who said they were selling accident insurance. They were willing to give him a trial offer. A trial offer on accident insurance?! What a laugh.

Anyway, last week, in researching this, I found out this was an unidentified scammer telephone number. Anyone, can buy an 800, or 877 number, so watch out. Don't give any information out to them. As someone else said, if caller ID shows 1-800 service, don't answer. We can call or write the Federal Trade Commission if we want to stop these calls. Also, in researching this online, this telephone number doesn't belong to any department of Wells Fargo or Wachovia. Thank goodness, I stopped my husband in time from revealing anything else.

I received a call yesterday on October 8th as well. Folks, this could be a scam. When I picked up, a beep sounded, and I hung up. I received phone calls from Wells Fargo months ago, and I asked what they were selling. They said they were trying to sell their customers a home warranty plan. I then called my local office, and asked was this legal, and the local office said that it was probably illegal. If Wachovia (Wells Fargo) wants to sell a home warranty plan, then you should get a mailing from them, not a phone call.  Later, however, I did receive a mailing from Wachovia on their home warranty plan.

Also, folks, home warranty plans are not that great anyway. Besides, don't give any private information out over the phone. This warning has been repeated over and over. Could it just be someone else trying to get information from Wachovia's customers?

Still not 100% sure who this is who keeps calIing me but fixed the problem by going to www.fetsick.com and getting the unlimited phone service for $14.95. One of the features to this phone service is you can refuse any call and from then on your phone will never ring (when they call to bother you) and it goes straight to voice mail.  VERY NICE!

I have been receiving calls from this number for weeks now. I have no connection to Wells Fargo or wachovia so I cannot imagine what they would want form me. I finally answered today and they were silent on the other end. When I attempted to call the number back, an automated voice said they were from Wells Fargo and they were calling to tell me about a promotion they have going on for wachovia customers but if i wanted to stop receiving calls to enter my number. I have no idea how they got my number to begin with, since I do not have a paper trail like this, no bank accounts or debit cards or savings accounts-nothing. No loans or anything else that could possibly warrant contact with a financial institution.

They already have have my number even though I am on the Do Not Call list registered with the government and there is obviously no need to give it to them again. What I would like to know is how the hell did they get my number? Any ideas?

I have opted out of all contact from this and all my banks. They obviously don't care. And since they are still calling up to 2 times a day for weeks now, even calling at dinner time, I believe I will be switching banks over this.

Calls stopped a while ago after I notified Wells Fargo, but now have started again - twice a day most days.
I just pick it up and then kill the call, but it's still annoying being interrupted and stopping to see who's calling.

Banks have their OWN telemarketers that call and offer to sell you insurance etc as do MOST credit card companies.

YOU have to tell YOUR BANKS that you CHOOSE to OPT OUT of receiving their telemarketing calls. You have to contact the bank directly -their telemarketers are using the lists provided by the banks.

This applies to any company you have a business relationship with

Until you TELL them this - they can call all they want as you have a previous business relationship with them - they are not violating do not call laws.

As for those Wachovia customers - Wachovia was absorbed by Wells Fargo - so YES you have a Wells Fargo account.

So, based on above responses I called Wells Fargo's 1800 number and they wanted to look at my bank information based on my Wachovia account.  I asked this question: "You can tell that telemarketers are calling my home number by looking at my bank account?"  Response, "Well, no, but I am looking at a blank screen."  I asked: "Who has access to my account that is calling me and not responding when I answer the phone and/or not leaving a message when my answering machine pick up?"  Response, "Well, I can't really help you until you give me your bank information.  Is there anything else I can do for you today?"  I said, "You haven't done anything for me yet!"
 ?????????????????????  frustration.

This number has been calling me every day for the last several days. I don't answer "800 Service" numbers on caller id so I haven't answered. But I finally called back to see who it was and an automated voice said it was Wells Fargo. I have a Wachovia Account from before they were taken over by Wells Fargo but I do not consider myself a Wells Fargo customer. I only have a checking and savings account with Wachovia and no debt with them what so ever so there is no reason they need to be calling me. They had better stop calling!
