So far, liked your post best. All good points & fact you did read fine print at bottom. Due to not owning 2004 any more, I also found notice stupid. Also, UR correct, this is a REAL vehicle service contact (VSC) company. Know this, as I do have a 1st ever contract with them for 2014 vehicle. Only time will tell if I ever purchase same in future....based on their performance. Can say, don't like clause "must call them first" each time new vehicle will require a repair.

Really helpful website. Thanks everyone taking time to post. Purchased new 2014 mo ago...same make & model. Got mail, final attempt, same bells & whistles. First got upset, "factory warranty will expire". Outraged, with intent to take to next level... noticed ONE very small detail. In upper most left corner "2004". So in conclusion, final notice on factory warranty expired on 10 yr old vehicle I traded in. I shredded for recycling this mail offer to purchase vehicle service contract with no relativity to dealer/manufacturer.

Monday May 19 2014...... Received letter of the same "Time Sensitive - Please Act Now"...."Available Coverage Expires 6/6/2014"....."VSC Department".....1.877.394.7471......."All Policies Come With 24 Hour Road Side Assistance, Towing and Car Rental".....By what I have read above this could be a "Fly By Night" Scam..... Nowhere on this letter does it give a physical address or any other information identifying themselves as a liable company.....
I personally would not now or ever call for there's not enough information given in letter to make me believe they are reliable or a reputable company. My Opinion....

Got one in the mail today. No return address and not even a company name in the whole solicitation. They must think people are pretty stupid to fall for their scam.

Got a similar letter showing available coverage, etc. etc. They have tried real hard to look authentic and impressive but something is just odd. Lucky to have found this link. Now I know not to deal with them. I won't even waste my call to request them to take me off their list. They can keep sending me letters all they want ;)

Just got this stupid notice in the mail. At least I can put this paper to good use. Recycle bin.
Another good point. They are helping the US Postal Service.
The last line in the fine print has the company's name "Repair Defense Network" and address. It is a real company but a quick search will tell you all you need to know about them. I, for one, would never purchase anything from them.
Repair Defense Network , VSC Department

I called this company to get taken off the list. The guy asked me to read off my customer ID number, then looked it up and asked about my vehicle. I said i'm getting mail about A vehicle, not mine. I would like to be taken off the list. He said "ok maam", then tried to hang up on me. I didn't hear him typing anything into the computer, he didn't ask me my identification. Just seemed weird to me.

Received this official looking bi-fold in the mail connoting a sense of ominous urgency. It does not disclose the sender, just "VSC Department". Fishy. I Googled the 877 number on the mailer, so I'm reporting it in this forum. I love these forums.

Got a letter for me to call this number about a truck that I own. Called the dealer was told that they are trying to sign you up for and extended warranty policy on your truck. Already have one with the company the built the vehicle, They get the information from the DMV in our state. Told by my dealer DO NOT CALL for any reason it is a SCAM. Dealer has heard about this program from many customers and many have been taken on this offer.
