I want to research there web site but they refused to give it to me. I would love to know the full company name...But DO NOT PAY THE $199....A real estate agent here in my state said you never do a title search until right before closingand most of the time it is done by the title company or a lawyer

Scammers like to harvest online sites to see if anybody wants something. They then phone or email those posters with offers that are difficult to refuse. In this scam, the scammer tells you that they have your dream home or apartment ready for you to rent or lease. All you have to do is send them some up-front money via Green Dot or Western Union (or similar) to lock in the deal, before somebody else gets it. If you send money, you will have to wait a LONG time for the deal, because the scammer has taken your money and run. If you sent any critical ID information, your ID may be compromised.

I called this number after finding a 5 bedroom house that was rent to own. I asked the man how long we would be renting to own the home, and he told me that in order to get that information, I would need to register with them. I asked for a website to go check it out, and he informed me that that's why I'm talking to him. That I have to give him a credit card number and after I do that, he will give me a user name and password to access their website. I instantly said to the man "This sounds like a scam to me!" He replied, with an attitude, mind you "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK!" I said "Ok good! If you don't care what I think, then I guess you wouldn't mind if I reported you!" I flagged his craigslist posting and reported him along with his number to the FTC! They are on top of it now!! =)

Thank you all!!  So glad I saw this! I had researched another such 'great opportunity' - lol......stories of people sending them (or companies like them) hundred of dollars to 'fix credit' or even more (one said she sent $2000 so they could find place to move out of state).  Some people have no conscience; thanks to all for this info.

YUP!! Right off the bat you can tell this is a joke. One thing they don't do are credit checks, I can see how this might sound good but no one is going to sell you their home without doing a credit check specially sense 9 times out of ten a bank is who you are actually buying the house from. Don't even waste your time calling, way to good to be true.

My husband and I have been house hunting in the Columbia/Jefferson City, MO Craigslist ads. All of the ad's with this number seemed too good to be true! I google'd the # before calling it and found this forum! I have since gone through and tagged every single one of their ad's as SPAM! I encourage everyone else to do the same. You just go into "Housing" and type their number into the search bar. When the houses pop up click on each one and then click SPAM across the top in blue! This should alert Craigslist to this and they will remove them! Glad you all left your comments on here! It saved me from calling the wrong person and giving out the wrong information!!!

877-395-1317 is spamming houses for rent on Craigslist. They have several numbers that they're using, and they only post one photo of the house.

They posted a house for rent on Craigslist with words that don't match houses in our area and a very low rental rate compared to going rates.  It is a scam.  I flagged the posting on Craigslist, I hope it gets removed.

Scammers. When I asked them who they were, they got aggressive and then hung up.
Someone should nail these jerks.

I just called this number for the ad on craigslist. Manuel informed me of the company's name American Standard and found no Google search. It felt like a scam when I was talking to him. He said the $199 is refundable as well as it covers over $200 worth of things. He claims they are not making any money from it but it is not plausible. As well the numbers he was quoting me for a $100,000 house did not add up. He also said there is no credit check or background check and everything happens in a matter of 24-48 hours. DON'T TRUST THIS SITE!!!!!!!
