She said she was from CenturyLink and I did recently add a service so it may have been them. She called me by name and asked if I was happy with the service and said the call was confidential and she was going to confirm some things. I stopped her at that point and said that I was uncomfortable with the call because it comes up as "Toll Free" and the number (not 'CenturyLink') on my Caller ID and I didn't place  the call, sooooo .... my service was fine but if I had any problems I would call HER. She said okay, and that was that.  I don't know if was really CenturyLink or not. It probably was. Once you do business with someone they can try to up-sell you to death. And this number has called a bunch of times. I hope it stops now.

Now, it's responding as Century Link when I call it back.
They have called twice and hung up.
If you're going to bother bothering people, at least have the courtesy to leave a message so we can block your calls...which I did.

To add to the above post, I even got a email confirming my recent order and change in my centurylink/qwest acct. The email clearly stated Centurylink. and the call came from the Centurylink Customer Care Team. Another call back number is 1 866 957-7477

Ok...I answered this time, and I spoke with a Rep from Qwest/Centurylink. It's a call back to see if I am satisfied with my service. Which gave me the opportunity to tell Sam (Rep) that I was having troubles with my DSL for the first month, but got it fixed. They are a legit company and Sam was very helpful in answering my questions, and checking on my service.
If you get these calls and would like to call back the right number instead of the computer generated number...it's 1 800 699-3923, that is Sam's direct number.
If you are a centurylink/qwest customer, then it's ok to take this call. They do not ask for your personal info over the phone, the call is recorded. Nothing to fear.

This number is Qwest Communications/Centurylink. The Rep I spoke with is Sam and his call back number is 1 800 699-3923. Since I have service with Centurylink/Qwest, it is strictly a call to see if you are satisfied with the service and to make any changes if needed. It was a legit call.

I got this call, they are Qwest. I just recently had my phone service installed, and had nothing but problems with the service since it started...with my internet that is. So they are more than likely calling to kiss my a$$ for such a hassle with the service.

Stop calling me. I am on the 'do not call' registry. The calls come in 4+ times a day, & I feel harassed.

Most likely Qwest. We ordered broadband and then the calks started. Asked them to not call anymore but doesn't help. Guy above said it takes 30 days. Well it's got to be close if not past 30.

I called today and got a Qwest rep. Asked why they call and hang up? He wasn't sure. Told him to put me on "do not call" list. Said it would take a month.

In response to "Hate it"
Yes, you can block the caller if you have a phone with call blocking built in such as the Panasonic wireless Model KX-TGA740.  With this phone I was able to block this number & several others.  I bought mine @ Office Depot in June '10 for $83 w/taxes.  No, I don't work for either of these businesses, just offering my real world solution.  Other models and manufacturers may have the same feature for less money but I have no direct knowledge of this.  Hope that this helps you and many others.

This recording calls my number every day at approximately the same time.  They mumle something about speaking to an operator.  I am on the National no-call list but that does not seem to matter because if you call back it says they are not receiving calls at this time or the number has been disconnected.

I hate it when people call me and I do not recognize the number and they keep calling.  They will sometimes be on the other end or they will not.  I would like to know how to block these numbers when I get them?  I am also a Qwest customer, recently, and I did call this number back (877- 395-9994) after checking the number.  Is it possible to block Qwest even if they are my carrier?

Yes.  It's Qwest.  They want to be paid.  Probably behind one month and that'll start the automated call.  When I talk to them.  I let them do their shtick.  And then I say, "Could you repeat that?"  I do that like five times.  They finally hang up.

I just received a call from this number.  I didn't recognize it, so I didn't answer it.  I will definitely be calling back to see who it is, if nothing else, to tell them to stop calling me.  If memory serves me right, they have called from this number at least once per day for the last week.  I'm really getting tired of them not leaving a message!

p.s., i just called them back and got the familiar male automated voice saying, "Welcome to Qwest. The next available representative will be with you shortly."  What a nuisance!!!

I also missed a call from this number, called it back and got Qwest's automated system, followed by a rep.  He said that its used to offer additional services periodically for your phone service.  I asked him to take me off the call list and he was glad to do so.

This is definitely Qwest.. I missed the call, called it back and Qwest's automated system came on, followed by a rep. They wanted to know how our recent install was.

I have been getting several calls from this number, they let it ring once or twice and then hang up. no messages left.
Today they called again, I answered, they ask for a name, then told them they have the wrong number, these calls don't stop, they come under various phone numbers and no messages are ever left.

If they are Qwest, they sure are NOT polite and they don't introduce themselves as being from Qwest, I have their services unfortunately I have no real choice to have them since Mediacom is the worst company and Qwest is the second in my book.

I just want the calls to stop, I don't like Qwest but I have to use them, last time I called the number back it was an automated recording with some code at the end... doesn't sound like Qwest to me.

It's definitely Qwest. I kept getting the calls too, so I called back the number and they answered Qwest. I told the woman I spoke with the problem and she pulled up my account and put me on the "Qwest Do Not Call" list. It takes about 30 days to take effect and she gave me another number to call if I have any questions or problems. The number is 800-242-5056. Give if a try if you are having the same problem.

This is either a collection agency or a private investigator.  The guy left me a message to call him back at 1-800-213-5900 ext. 136.  He was looking for someone with the same surname as mine who I didn't know.  I told him that and he said he'd take my name off the list.

I used to work for Qwest a few months ago and I never heard of them doing this. Everytime that number comes up I just blast my music into my phone and tell them to &%#@ themselves. It doesn't stop them but it's fun to do especially when they are yelling for you to stop.

I keep getting calls from this number and I never answer them  since I don't know who this caller is. They never leave a message regarding what it is they are calling me about. I have had numerous calls in the past 3 weeksw from this number.

Got a call from this number. No one was there so I'm assuming it was a computer generated call that was not connected to a service rep position.
Called the number back and answering party said they were with Qwest.I asked to be removed from thier call list she said she would removed it. I asked where she was calling from she said Ontario, Canada? Her Rep number is SPD004. I asked how I could determined if this was a bonafide Qwest rep and she said in a sarcastic voice "well you called this number didn't you". Didn't sound like a Qwest rep response to me. Will call Qwest tomarrow.

I probably first received a call from these people on Wednesday of last week and they're looking for someone other than me.  They've called numerous times today and left two messages on that Wednesday and one today. I doubt that it's Qwest because the person they're looking for isn't me and Qwest should know that.

Also, I've never talked to them because I'm usually at work when they call nor do I want to call them back.

I recieved a phone call from this number answered it and I said "hello" they said "hi, is *** there?" I said "who is this?" they say "this is your telephone company" I thought to myself, well if this were the phone company they would say something like "this is Qwest, may I talk to ***?" It seemed a bit suspicious so I contacted Qwest at 1-800-244-1111 and they said "I do not recognize the phone number, you have given me. My suggestion is that you do not give out any personal information when talking to 'phone companies' that call you, if you expect that they are trying to steel you identity, hang up and call the company back at there toll free number, not the number listed on your caller ID."

When you call back this number someone from Qwest answers. They told me that they are calling to verify if you're happy with the service. Funny... considering they're calling and hanging up.
If you give them your name and number, they'll take you off the call list. I did it and haven't received one call from them since.
