Caller ID: 800 Service
Left message "Hello this is Jerry calling in regards to your home's energy efficiency..."
Curious because according to Mr. Number ?877-396 is not a valid prefix. If you are sure that you got a phone call from a number beginning with this prefix, the caller may have 'spoofed' caller ID.?.
Call Type: Who knows Telemarketer Or Scam???

They've called me at least twice since my posting on 4-5-13. They leave a message-Hi this is Steve, calling in behalf of Energy Star in your state and to call 877-396-4714. I have no intention of calling back.

folks - these call don't stop - DNC does not work and complaints to the government DnC web site regarding violators don't go anywhere , that is why these unscrupulous bozos like these so called energy efficiency surveys keep violating it - they know they won't get caught. And the more you answer your phone to tell them to take you of the list- the more lists they put you on to annoy you just because you answered your phone.
so the solution is simple - invest a small amount (hundred bucks) in a digital call blocker and you will get days of peace ahead. I laugh as i see the calls come in and immediately get hung up on - worth every penny and the phone no longer rings t annoying hours unless its family, now if I can only find an mother-in law blocker!!!
The call blocker I use is the digitone. it blocks all area codes you want and calls with no id. you can customize it in a number of ways and add calls as they come in or you can block everything and just accept callers you want to hear from very effective and one of many out there - highly recommend you get one

Received a call from 1-877-396-4714 in which a computer generated message stated"This is the Home Performance Energy Star Program for the State in which you live.Call us back to discuss money saving options on your bill. I googled the number and read Janet C message
Janet C 2013-04-11 21:02:10 Unknown
received call answered it was a free home survey to advise of improvements. Stated under no obligation this was a free service. And will let you know if you are eligible for any assistance on government programs to help with cost of improvement to save energy.

I miss read the number and thought it was someone else. When I picked up they asked it was "my name" and as soon as I said it was, they hung up. Ok-I now that was dumb to say yes this is "my name" they are now added as an annoyance number to my phone bank. Only legitimate businesses use the "do not call" list-I'm convinced.

they are rude and obnoxious. Maybe if they were educated alittle they would know how to speak to people correctly.

They are rude and when asked to stop calling they continued until I threatened legal action.
SEMontco 2013-03-25 15:20:00 Telemarketer
They are EnergyWorks.com, not a nonprofit. We are on the no call list so I told them I was not interested and that I will report them. Woman was obnoxious and pushy and I told her I am not interested and to take me off their list. I am getting ready to buy a Digitone 10 to block all of this junk. Hate these telemarketers. I want to tell them to get a real job.

"The National Do Not Call Registry applies to any plan, program, or campaign to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls. This includes telemarketers who solicit consumers, often on behalf of third party sellers. It also includes sellers who provide, offer to provide, or arrange to provide goods or services to consumers in exchange for payment. "
Because of this, you're not allowed to call.

I just got a call from these people to!! The guy said he "wanted me to sit down, make myself comfortable and get ready for a little straight talk on home efficiency". I recently hurt my back and was laying down on a cervical examination table with my legs and feet up in the air when this bozo called, so yes, technically I was already comfortable.
He really wanted to push the home efficiency subject and would not take no for an answer. This guy had the playbook by his side and was in it for the long haul. In order to push his subject, he then reminded me about how hot the summer can get, and then started singing "Cruel Summer" by Banannarama!! I still refused, and then he told me that if I am going to "sit back and act uninterested" then he will be glad to have someone come over to my house and "inspect my anus" and then started making donkey sounds!! OMG!! I was so upset that I actually soiled myself!
I think these people may be following me somehow, so I am now planning on moving to another state - Possibly somewhere with cool summers. I am still shaking all over because of this, and as soon as I can calm down I am going to call PETA and let them know about this incident.
Fight the power!

Wow - by citing the rules of the DNC registry you've just admitted that you violate it! You admit that your company is in business to make money. This means you are a telemarketer and are therefore legally obligated to not call people on that list! How does it feel to know that you break the law every day you go to work??
employee 2013-03-22 02:52:01 Unknown
First things first, im just an employee. I have no control of what my company lists our number as or what your phone company lists our # as on your caller i.d. As far as the Do Not Call list. This comes from the donotcall.gov website.
Who May or May Not Call?
Who is covered by the National Do Not Call Registry?
The National Do Not Call Registry applies to any plan, program, or campaign to sell goods or services through interstate phone calls. This includes telemarketers who solicit consumers, often on behalf of third party sellers. It also includes sellers who provide, offer to provide, or arrange to provide goods or services to consumers in exchange for payment. The National Do Not Call Registry does not limit calls by political organizations, charities, or telephone surveyors. So in other words when i call to set an appointment for a free energy assessment with absolutely no obligation to participate in the state program, yes i am able to call you.
Now, i am calling from an automatic dialer which is connected to a computer. When i hear a voicemail, i cue a automated message to be left and hang up. this is how the system works on my end. if there is an issue with the process im sure well get it fixed. after all, we are in business to make money. not sit around all day and pester people with a lack of info. Mark group pays the company i work for to set appointments that dont cancel. and where i work pays me for the number of appointments i set.
Bottom line were calling about energy efficiency so the homeowner can improve their home while saving money at the same time. energy efficiency improvements pay for themselves quickly and will continue to help save money for years to come. simple logic, conserve energy for longer periods of time and use less, resulting in a lower power bill. The savings speak for themselves.

Who ruffled your feathers, Rajesh?
Sheldon cooper 2013-03-21 17:10:38 Unknown
It is time for me to call the phone company and tell them to cancel the account. By the way you telemarketers should have paid attention in 4th grade -you could have had a real job by now

Will not answer unidentified calls 2013-03-20 17:16:30 Unknown
Several things are wrong with your response...if it IS A TRUE RESPONSE!
1- Caller Id shows "UNAVAILABLE"...well, so am I!!! If you can't identify yourself, why should I pick up?
2- I'm on the "DO NOT CALL" list. Apparently you are not checking that list, so again, why should I answer?
3- If you are on the up & up...leave a message! Then, if I deem it a responsible call, I will respond with a return call in a timely manner!
This is why your calls go unanswered, or are hung up on. Be a responsible caller, and we will be responsible on our end.
This is also why web sites like "800 Notes" exist! We needed places to vent.
Let's see if "employee" will respond. 8^}

If we called its because the state has set aside funds for homeowners so that homeowners can make their houses more energy efficient. Mark Group is calling to offer a free home energy assessment w/ no obligation to participate in the state funded program which is called clean energy even after the free assessment is finished.
