Got the '...now scheduling reviews for orphaned annuity counts great than five years. Please call our scheduling department for more information. Was mailed to a resident address which I started using only 3 months ago when I bought a piece of property. I've never had an annuity.

scam from scum
Richard 2014-05-01 15:37:55 Unknown
Dirtbags send a postcard that says nothing about who they are, trick the unwary into calling then suck up all the personal information you are foolish enough to give them. scams from scum.
Pat 2014-04-28 22:25:59 Unknown
Got one of these postcards addressed to my Aunt who has been dead since 2004. Now there's a clue! Thank you for all your posts warning it is a scam.

I just talked to them. It is just a marketing ploy where a marketing company sends out the postcards and when you call the number they have participating Annuity sales agents in your local area who will try to review what you have and sell you some other annuity products. I imagine the company who you call 877-403-6319 gets a finders fee whenever they match a person to the agent. The women who answered was pleasant and said her company is only an answering service that matches the caller to a local Annuity sales person. She does not phish it is just gathering sales leads. Sort of a reverse cold call except you call them instead of they calling all random numbers to find someone interested in meeting with an annuity sales person. And she was American if you can believe it. I only call to mess with company's like this. I always ask for their SSN # or credit card number and when they ask why I always say so I can steal your identity just like you are trying to do with mine.

Received postcard just like the other posts, claiming they have been trying to reach me regarding ORPHANED annuity accounts.
Mary W. 2014-03-24 18:35:19 Unknown
They're still at it in March 2014! Received this card in today's. I ignore the phone calls. I will definitely put a block for this # on my phone. Thanks!
DeeDee 2014-03-08 22:45:33 Unknown
I received mine today. Thanks for the heads up. I agree they are hiding their Identity. What a SCAM

I thought this was a scam as soon as I read the postcard and noticed there was no person's name or company name listed with the phone number and it was very vague on detail. It used the words "as a possible holder of an in-force annuity contract". Well, that was a huge red flag for me because if they were legit, they would already know if you have one. Also, they used my former last name from 2006. I decided to confirm my suspicions by googling the phone number 877-403-6319, and all of you who commented were very helpful and I thank you very much for your warnings. I just wish those phishing scam idiots would leave us honest people alone.

My dad got this card. Called the company and wanted his information beyond whay they posted on the card. He asked what annuity company they were with but the company name didn't even make sense. He told them I know this is a scam and he's calling the police so the company hung up...
It is definitely a phishing scam so tell your parents and grandparents to beware!
Jake 2013-10-23 10:33:59 Unknown
I am always suspicious when a company doesn't list their own name and address. The irony is, the front of the card has a "PRIVACY NOTICE", that is much longer than any other info they give you on the card. What SCAM artists! Thank You all for the information above. I will not call them. I wish there were a way to turn them in and get this kind of thing STOPPED.

Received a in-force annuity contract post card asking to call 877-403-6319 to find out about orphaned accounts that I may have.
hatescammers 2012-08-16 01:23:55 Unknown
same thing. Scammers at work. Previously I have called my STATE attorney generals office about other scam calls - i.e. "Rachel at credit card service center" - and they wrote back that they had an investigation in progress in conjunction with other branches of law enforcement nationwide, and if I received additional calls, just hang up. I'm adding this "annuity" thing to their list.
