They are back in full swing of calling multiple times a day using this phone number as well as an 800 number with the same rest of the telephone number.  I'm fed up with DirecTV - they are even worse than Comcast about trying to sell you more services.  Sheesh - we already pay too darn much and we sure don't want anymore of their stupid services.  A couple of days ago I answered the phone since I was curious as they'd used the 800 area code - when the guy said he was so and so from DirecTV and asked if Mr. or Mrs. (our last name) was there I immediately just said "we're not interested in anymore of your services thank you" and I hung up.  I thought maybe they'd get the hint but they sure didn't - I'm going to answer it the next time I happen to see the number come up (I don't have the ringer turned on for our phones since I don't want to be bothered with anyone anymore) - I will give them an ear full and tell them to just cancel our services totally since I'm fed up with their ridiculous marketing ploys.

Well if it is direct TV. I would not answer it if it said who it was...last time i answered and talked to this dumb s*** kid and even though i did not want the upgrade the du****it signed me ip for it anyways...i am free to stop direct Tv anytime now as the supposed contract is ip and I want to keep it that way but the kid said it is at no cost to you...ya right...NOTHING is FREE...anyways got an email saying the guy would show up to do the upgrades and i hit the ceiling was on the phone and mad sure that du****it got fired....

Yeah, it was..direct tv...wanting to "upgrade" aka $$$$$ increase our bill with a lock in your rate deal and agree to another contract renewal......I enjoy being OFF their term contracts...they treat you like a new customer again....because......gawd knows...they don't  give discounts to their millions of already existing- loyal customers-, how stupid is that!

Talked to a friend in financial services.  Bill collectors do not leave messages because they believe that once their number is identified, a debtor will never take their call.  My Comcast telephone gives me caller ID.  I look up ALL unknown numbers on the internet before calling.  This I do to avoid any scammers and telemarketeers.  I am told that once they know a number is good they will hound you forever.

Well, they've been back on their round of calling again.  Got a call yesterday and again today.  I thought the way I dealt with them yesterday would stop their crap but needless to say it didn't.  When I answered yesterday, I was in a bad mood already and I'd had enough of their idiot calls so I answered with "WHAT" in a loud growling voice.  The woman went on to say "This is so and so from DirecTV is *my name* there?"  I said "What's this about?"  She then said, "Is *my name* there this is DirecTV."  I again said "What do you want and what is this about?"  She then said "This is DirecTV and we're offering 3 months ..." at which point I interjected with "We can't afford anything else goodbye."  So I guess they wanted to make sure I'm irritated.  The next time I call they are going to get threatened with the state attorney general's office and our state attorney general does not take kindly to b****eaded companies harassing customers.

Direct TV. The telemarketer starts his spill and wants you to take 3 months of Movie Channels free. I might have done it but my contract is up and I am moving to U-Verse or Fios. To get a decent price on any TV Provider, you have to change every 2 years because the only good deals they offer are for new customers. Direct TV loses it signal when it rains. Beyond that, not a bad provider.

I got a call from this number and a guy (American) identified himself as "Brandon from Directv" and I interrupted him saying, "I just got off the phone with you guys about my service. What now?" and he hung up. I actually HAD just gotten off the phone with them as I downgraded my service from Premier to Choice...interesting.

Direct TV.  They pester you to death.  They "give" you free trials of programs you don't want, then when you try to call them to turn them off they tell you to wait until your free trial is up.  If you don't call the DAY they are up you get to pay a prorated fee for them.

this number 877/410-4634 was regarding the energy bill.  When I told Travis I was interest and wanted my number taken off his list, he just keep talking.  Told him I was going to file complaints again him and the number.

I think the best thing to do is to get to the person.  When you get them, ask them, "Hey, what are you wearing?"  I mean even if the caller is of the same gender.  Another good question is, "Are you hungry?"
Ask them where they were last night.  Ask them if they eat ants.  Ask them if they wear their shoes on the correct feet.  Keep asking them these truly important questions.

Don't refuse to answer.  That's just waving the white flag and surrendering to these greedheads.  If you think not answering is going to stop them - someone says the "silent treatment works", it doesn't - you're wrong.  For all we know, it can be one person who pushes a button and gets his or her phones to ring the same numbers night after night, day after day.  She or he could care less if you answer.  They come in to work, around your dinner time, most likely, hit a computer key or two and the auto phones start calling the same numbers, including yours, that they called yesterday, the day before, the day before that, ad infinitum (can infinitum go backwards? - I didn't think so)

Be creative.  Have some fun with these greedheads.  

There are a great many questions you can ask them.  I truly believe that this will discourage them.

Try it.  It's fun and you can intrude upon their privacy at the same time they're intruding upon yours.

I really like the person who called Peter back ten times.  I suggest that you all do that as well.  As that person said, it might give them some idea of how it feels to have their privacy invaded.

People, the Do No Call Registry is a joke.  I'm on it.  It's never stopped anyone from calling me.  I've complained.

I told one person if he or she calls again, "I'll own you."  Now, I have no idea what that means, but it sounded cool.

Don't give up.  Don't hurt anyone or destroy any property.  Try to refrain using profanity.  However, fight back.  These are people who don't care how wealthy or how poor you are.  They want to squeeze everything out of you and take it for themselves.

I'm afraid this is what America has come to.  I -me- mine.

They use not only this number but also 877-410-4635 - if it truly is DirecTV then if I want more services, I will call them.  If we had a decent cable company anymore, I'd go back to cable.  The only reason I went with DirecTV is that whenever it rained 3 drops or a bird left their droppings on the cable lines the cable would go out (we were without service for hours at a time at least 2 or 3 times a month with absolutely nothing in return except even worse service/customer service).  We've rarely had any outages with DirecTV so they know they have us by the shorts if they know we have crappy cable service in our particular neighborhoods.

This number and numbers like it keep calling me, and typically at times when my baby son is napping.  When I answer, I get silence.  We do have an account with your company, but if you're going to bother to waking my son up, for God's sake, stay on the line when I answer so I know what you want.  If you're just trying to up sell me on a subscription upgrade, I can tell you to stop calling.

This number is DIRECT TV.  They do not leave messages. I have been bombarded with calls from this number for months, if not a year now....they call every 20 minutes for about an hour at a time and do it every s.i.n.g.l.e. day.  On the 5th call just today, within 1 hour and 5 minutes of one another; I decided to answer the "UNAVAILABLE" call. It was Direct TV. I was angry and asked them why they were calling so much. The lady told me she was calling just to "thank me" for choosing DIRECT TV. I told her I didn't want to be thanked and if cable lines were ran down my road (I live in the country) that I would drop direct tv in a second flat.  She tried talking over me which leads me to believe they weren't just calling to "thank me" but also to try to sell me their useless channels that include movies on "Movie Channels" that are from the 1970's.  My annoyance and aggression was clear to her and as soon as I heard her say "I'll put you on the 'do not call' list and that will take effect in 7-10 days" I simply said "GREAT, now I'll get 100 more calls in the next 7-10 days" and I hung up.

Answer the call and right off the bat tell them to STOP CALLING or they will call foreverrrrr...even if you are a subscriber.

It is now 3:35pm  Since 12noon, I have had 3 calls from this number.
I do not answer - I have Caller ID.  It rings 3 1/2 times and then stops.
I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST, and what good does it do?
Does anyone know if someone from that list checks these numbers out when they are reported so often as busy more than pesty?  I think it is terrible.

Between 10:30 AM and 2:30 PM i received 5 calls that I answered after 3 rings and it went dead.  If this is Direct TV then I'm glad I have DISH
