So, I just got a call TODAY, and Robert Thackum (?) told me that the deadline to pay on my American Express charge card debt is today. He stated that the debt is $1,222.00 and I need to pay it today or settle for 846 dollars. I told him that I have never had an American Express and he went on to tell me that I'm a genuine young lady and that I don't deserve what's about to happen to me. He then told me that I'm his sister. 1. I don't have any brothers. 2. I have NEVER had an American Express Card. I then told him that I needed to speak to his manager or someone who is in command over him; he put Jack Gates on the phone. Jack told me that he needed my attorney's information, so that HE could contact my attorney. I told him that I don't have one, and he said I'm probably too poor to afford one. As I began to explain to him that I have never had an AE card, and I need something in writing faxed or mailed to me, he continued to talk over me, and I simply said "I wish he would shut up" (probably not the best idea - but it's what came out)....he then called me a Bi***. He said, "You're going to tell me to shut up, you bi***?!" I said "excuse me?" and he proceeded to call me stupid and a bi***. I hung up. I collected myself, because at this point, I'm distraught, how dare he! I called back after calming down, and asked to speak to Jack Gates. Before I forget, the person that answered the phone just said "yeah", no "hello", I asked him, "who am I speaking with?" he said, BCI. I then was connected with Jack Gates and I told him that I have my attorney's information to give him, he tells me "i don't have time to take down his information, have him call me", then he goes on to tell me that I have a sweet and sexy voice, and that he wants to "do me". Seriously? That's how people handle business on the phone? EVEN FAKE BUSINESS? I'm appauled. I told him that I was going to contact BBB and then file a sexual harassment suit, and that I was recording the phonecall...he hung up. Interesting...

I have also been repeatedly harassed by Ron Smith of BCI and Associates. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission, and I suggest everyone else do the same.

BCI and Associates have contacted me numerous times and provided me with the company that had the debt before.  I contact that company, Unifund, and they confirmed that the debt had been sold to BCI and Associates in Spring, TX.  BCI has provided me with correct information and I was like everyone else thinking it was a joke or scam.  My advise is to pay any debt that you have because you risk ruining your credit for a very long time.  If it is some sort of a scam or hoax then report it to the BBB or get a lawyer to handle it.  They have an unorthodox style of dealing with people maybe even borderline illegal but if you have an outstanding debt just pay it.

c:  Nothing from those clowns since May 13.  Sue the crooks if they are still calling you after signing for your letter  - $1000 per call.

We got calls from both BCI and FMS also.  FMS seems to be following the law in our case.  And BCI does not seem to care what they do.  I don't know if they are related but i doubt it.

There is no question as to whether BCI is or is not a 'legit' company.  The problem is their business practices, extra legal at best.

I just verified, through a company called Absolute Resolution Corp, that BCI and Associates is a company that purchases outstanding debts from them.  This started with a Mattress Discounters account that I had five years ago, which evidently still had a balance.  According to this ARC, BCI and Associates is legit.  Anyone have any additional information?

I received 8 calls in 4 days from this BCI Assoc.  He said his name was Ron Smith.  He was trying to reach someone in my family he said. When my wife and I informed him we where not who he wanted he ask me to pass a mesage and have the person he wanted to call him at 866-929-4704.
His call was from 281-419-1660 which is, per phone company records, M. Schumacher, 86 Sunlit Grove St., Spring, TX.  77382-1196.  The last time he called my wife told him we were going to call the Virginia State A/G he said " I don't care who you call".  I have called and am in the process of filing a complaint. This rude clown needs to be put under the jail.

So I've been reading this whole thread (http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-877-419-0866/11) because I am in a very interesting situation, and the whole BCI & Associates thing seems uber shady. I found this thread when I started digging around for some answers once I got home.

I am in southern NM, and today I had an older client who I was helping out around her house - and I couldn't help overhearing her conversation on speaker phone. It was someone trying to tell her that her dead husband (dead for three years) had a credit card debt of like thirteen hundred something dollars that she needed to pay or they were going to take her to court and go after her house. But he wanted to settle it out of court and get a lump sum from her. The account was in HIS (her husband's) name, not hers, and the guy on the phone talked like she was still married to a dead guy. Know what I mean? After a while of her talking and telling them that there was no way on social security that she could afford it he dropped the settlement price down to nine hundred something. And then again to a six hundred dollar settlement.

The whole thing sounded way shady for a number of reasons. They insisted that she send them a post dated check RIGHT THEN. That day. Overnight it and call them back with a tracking number. They wouldn't take payments, and the guy was so rude to her. She said that she had had all of her credit accounts with him consolidated a long time ago, and she wasn't responsible for his debt after his death (I'm not a lawyer or law student so I don't know if that's necessarily true or not).

And so, I come in to the picture because I feel so bad, she wrote a check right then and had me take her to the post office and help her mail it, even after I sternly suggested that she do a little research and get some of this information checked out. They gave her the exact same Spring, TX address that someone posted near the beginnging of this thread, to BCI & Associates.

It just sounds like you guys have done a lot of research and it sounds like the same situation. Ultimately she is a client and I can't force her to pay or not pay whoever she choses to do business with, so I didn't pursue the subject with her, it just bugs the crap out of me that people victimize helpless old ladies like that. And furthermore, I have no way of knowing if this way actually legit or not, I just have my intuition that says this whole transaction was shady and my opinion that she should have asked more questions. I inquire for peace of mind, especially if there's something that can be done about it.

I received a message on my phone yesterday for me to get in touch with my sister from Keith Grant.  He stated that her attorney needs to call him...blah blah blah blah.  I noticed the number on my phone this morning but no message and today I received a call from FMS Invest Corp.  Do you know any relation? phone # 847-413-0508.  I found this website www.budhibbs.com who put collection agencies on a watch list maybe something to do for BCI Associatess

Received call from BCI A**. June17. My wife was verbally harassed by the caller who was looking for someone we did not know. He threatened to try to collect a debt for someone who used my name as a credit reference. This company is unethical and if they call again I will press charges for verbal harassment.

The only option left, Bell Canada has dial *57 right away, same time conversation it automatically records, free of cost, the callers number and sends it to the neighborhood police station and OPP, as a report of harassment, and they will investigate, but you have to report this matter right way with your prove *57.

Most telemarketers and any agency are working inside jails now, and some of criminal doing time and so they waist time dialing phone numbers, and if they get lucky.
Those criminal are stressed, and are seeking for sexy young voices Male/Female or young child to fantasize about, and chat to.... anyway use your imagination.
The person could be murderer, child molester, rapist or/and.

Yes; most the times those calls are coming from inside prisons; the criminals are fishing for times, It?s mean you.
If they get jack-pot, the problem it?s after fact; if they did not get rejected by you, they pass the number around in the prison and cell-mate to harass you.
Eventually one of these prisoners become a stalker, and never leaves you alone.
Remember, if they know more about you they become more powerful. For an example; blackmailing.

Please be careful with whom are you dealing with, Do not ever give your ID and/or phone numbers, addresses to any stranger on the phone, no matter what. Your life will be destroy and burn down.

Even if the person says that they are calling straight from the company, ask for the number, and tell them you?ll call them back right way.
The phony person hangs up on you or the number may not exist when you call them back.
Please just be careful dog eat dog.

I am going through something similar, they have been calling me but wont say what for; they just keep asking me to have my lawyer contact them....BOTTOM LINE QUESTION: Are they legit, do you have nay other contatc information

is anyone else getting automated messages on their answering machines that say, "JR." and then a hang up.  I wonder if it is BCI because we are getting a lot of those. they seemed to start around the same time.

They called again here today (been about a month since 1st call) - same thing as with J, same name - "have [relative's} attorney contact us and use SS# as case #" - like I fell off the turnip truck yesterday!  I'm filing another complaint with FTC (I have a case # after first filing) and suggest everyone do the same. ACA and FTC get enough complaints, maybe something will be done.

J are they calling you a lot.  i think that they have stopped calling over here.  but there have been a lot of hang ups on the machine.

Got another call today from these people. Different person from the first call. He left his name as Keith Grant and the message stated:
"This message is for _____ you need to have your attorney contact Keith Grant in regards to an important matter. You can call us at 877-419-0866 and use your SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER to reference your case."
Good lord how dumb does BCI, Ronda (a very odd spelling to that name) and Ralf (an incredibly odd spelling since that is the version used when referencing vomit) think we are? Like I would pass the message on and then tell them to give these people their SS#. If they had it, they could leave it on my machine and tell me to reference the number, not go fishing for it. Since they have started calling again I will begin a new process of getting rid of them. I will send them a letter and tell you they are calling the wrong number and they better stop. Everyone else please keep posting here b/c I will keep monitoring it and don't let BCI get on and scare you. If they google their "company" name, this is the first or second item that comes up so its not hard to find. Its also rather easy to see they are breaking numerous laws b/c when you google any real company the first thing that comes up is their actual webpage, lol.

I really bothers me that these people will not conduct any business thrugh the US mail.

I paid them about 2 months ago.  They've acutually sent me a fax where it states that I've actually paid them but nothing through the mail.  I think this a minor issue though!!!  I think that the real issue is that they harrassed my family just to get to me; they broke the law by stating that they were a lawfirm and threatened my family cosistantly.
