Just had same scam call from India as those listed here. I knew it was a scam, so I decided to have fun with the male caller. To everything he asked, I answered "Yep Yep". About fifteen questions in, he asked "Ma'am, do you know English?". My answer "Yep yep". Then he asked if I would turn on my computer. Yep yep. "Are you sitting at the computer?" Yep yep. "Why do you keep saying yep yep?" Yep yep. "Ma'am, what is that yep yep noise?" Yep yep. Yep yep. Yep yep.
He didn't know what to do and I was about to burst into laughter so I hung up.
Sure hope he calls back. I can have even more fun. Yep yep.

SCAM ALERT!!! Called by 1-253-802-0309. Caller ID showed Auburn, Washington. Caller had Indian accent. There have been a number of calls (all Indian accent) claiming they were "hired to help me fix my computer". They were asked (again) NOT to call again. Told them my # was on the DNC list NOTE that did NOT dissuade them. Man who called on 5/15/2013 insisted my computer operating system had problems/errors and that he had been hired to "give me awareness" and "help me "identify" the problem(s) inside my PC. I declined SEVERAL times, told him my PC has no isses. He fished for my age, tried repeatedly to insist he had been hired by Microsoft, wanted direct access to my PC. I normally hang up but in this instance I wanted information from HIM so I could share it here. NOTE: These individuals are FOCUSED, DETERMINED, and INTENT, regardless of whether someone is on the Do Not Call List. FAIR WARNING! Do NOT give anyone access to your computer unless you hired them to come to your home, and only if they have squeaky clean references!

Rcvd a similar phone call; caller ID V509145106000060112538020308. A woman with a heavy Indian accent called from the "Windows Server Concern Department" to tell me that the Windows server was sending a signal to them regarding serious concerns about infections to my computer & that she wanted me to do an "offline check for malicious items."

Aware of scams & such (and feeling a little playful),  I asked  numerous questions that seemed to frustrate her, including "What company do you represent" and What is your company name?" only to be told "The Concern Department for your computer." (Which was cool, because I didn't know that I had one, lucky me!). I was able to get a phone number 1-877-434-5285, and then she transferred me to her manager, Jordan.

Jordan claimed to be the Sr Technician, ID #007, and spoke with a firm, yet friendly attitude. He politely explained to me that "Microsoft is the manufacturer, and the Concern Department is the district technical support."  Rather than answering my questions about the validity of the company, he responded by telling me my last name and providing me with my home address.  He said "How could I access your computer! I can't do that!" and "I've provided you with an 800 number, I'm sure you're aware that only legitimate businesses can have an 800 number, aren't you?"  Ha! Good job! Bet he closes the most deals!  All the while, he kept prompting me to open my control panel.  I got bored and told him my computer was running slowly so I shut it down.  He repeated the phone number, asked me to reboot & said he would "wait for my call." Having no intention of speaking with him again, I hung up.

2:09 pm the phone rang with a caller ID of "Fraudster 253-802-0308"
Curious, and thinking it was odd that I had just been speaking with a scammer & moments later get a call from "Fraudster", I answered:

"We have been waiting for you to call!!"  (caller)
"Who IS this!?"  (me)
"It is Jordan. Is your computer on?  We are very concerned about the signals from your computer and want to help you check for malicious items..."

Really? No introduction, even a simple 'Hello?' In a last ditch effort to gain credibility, he gave me a website address of: www.itsolutionsonline.net  and insisted that I go online to check it. I ended the call abruptly, looked up the phone number & raved about it here.  This is the third call in the last month we've received.

This 'company' is NOT affiliated with Windows or MicroSoft - they are NOT your friends and are NOT trying to help you.  Microsoft will not contact you unless you contact them first.

May 5th, 3:26 pm.  just received call from this number.  the person, Jordan, said my computer was putting out erroneous messages and she needed me to be at my computer so she could help solve the problem.  I did not want to do that and she did not pronounce Minneapolis properly so I felt suspicious. She gave me the phone number and asked me to callback.  I did not and checked this phone number via the internet and found a list of complaints.

I received a call from 877-434-5284 from a man speaking broken english regarding 'problems' with my adult son's computer. Oddly enough, the name that came up on my caller ID is "Fraudster". Hhhhmmmmm. The number this man gave me to have my son call back was 1-253-802-0309.  What is unsettling that in spite of his broken english he pronounced our last name correctly, which is often mispronounced.

My Mom received a phone call from IT Solutions yesterday.  The initial caller referred her to Jimmy who gave her all kinds of instructions on seeing all the things wrong with her computer. On some screen she was told to click on a Flag and hit the "R" button, but she can't remember how she got there.  She was also directed to www.esup.me.  She was not sure if she allowed him on her computer, but when I checked, her computer was set to "allow remote access".  They told her they would fix everything on her computer for $199 and then she said she would have to talk to her kids first.  He gave her a call back number of 877-434-5285 in Middletown NY.

My mom said she was on the phone with Jimmy for over an hour.
I went up there and disconnected the internet and then ran a full virus scan (Microsoft Security Essentials).  Nothing came up, but then the computer shut down and rebooted - got some error messages and we shut the computer down.  It did reboot and I then went on the internet to download malware bytes.  I disconnected and then ran a quick scan for malware bytes - nothing came up.

I emptied the Temp file and looked in the control panel to see if any hardware had been installed in the past day - nothing.

Any recommendations on what else to do?  Should we still be concerned about things on the computer?  Even though my parents don't purchase things online I did recommend they check their credit cards to see if there are any strange charges on them.  Any advice would be appreciated.

Can any of these messages be put on a social network so everyone knows not to allow this people into your computer.  I had just such a call today and almost let them in but for some reason the phone cut out. When they called back I asked for the address and other information and this is  the address he gave was 77 Lopresti Road, Middletown, NY.  The caller id showed a call coming from Beaverton, OR.  I told them I would call back when the Better Business Bureau and Police  assure me I was not being scammed.  He said he would be waiting for my call.

I happen to check this site only after getting the same call I think most of the people here got. I know enough about computers not to need the service so I didn't buy it any way. But I did let them show me what they do by logging on to my PC and it wasn't a bad thing for people who need it, I can see how it can be worthwhile. And don't worry, if it's the same thing I witnessed there is no information being taken. But as a precaution, no one should be storing important passwords and banking info on their computer any way, it's 2012 people!

I can't say much for your call but I can say the guy was telling the truth about MacAfee and Microsoft Security. Any two anti-virus softwares being installed will conflict and slow down your computer terribly. It's a bad idea.

IT Solutions called me tonight...same exact BS about how many errors I had, how they were corrupting my entire system, and on and on and on.  I DID allow them remotely run their checkup (in hindsight a bad idea) but am now worried because at least 2 maybe 3 different programs were installed by them.  At each one, they remotely clicked "accept"......doesn't feel right. Then the grand finale---they want $299.99 to fix all these problems and install microsoft security essentials, which IS a legit program, but I thought win 7 came with it....am I wrong? Anyway, the scary thing is he told me once I had paid to register and that was installed, I would need to get rid of MacAfee or there would be conflicts!!!
ANYONE GETS THIS CALL, I SUGGEST HANGING UP!!!! Mine came from 203-397-1127.  Now I've gotta figue out if THEY put any "malicious" s*** (pardon my fench) on my computer.  Any ideas?

Yes they could have.  If you don't know what you are doing, take it to a computer repair place and have them do it.   If it was me, I'd just  do a clean OS reinstall, but I have done that before.

Got a call from "Kevin Ray" (Indian accent) on September 15, 2012 telling me my computer had a virus and there was junk that they were "getting reports" about that I could not be aware of!  Wanted me to turn on my computer and let him make me aware of the junk, etc.  I told him couldn't do it and then looked up this number.  A little impatient when I said no - but then gave me the above phone number to call him back!

I just received a call too! The caller id gave me 000-000-0000- as if that isnt fishy enough! I answered more out of curiousity than anything else.  A male indicated they had been receiving error mesage from my computer and wanted to help me fix it.  Said they had completed a report of Windows users in NC. he wanted me to push the windows flag button....and that is when I told him I was not comfortable.  He has an Indian accent. I asked where he was calling me from and he told me New York. I hung up. He called me right back again!  I told him I was not comfortable with what he was asking me to do.  I asked for his company name and contact number. He gave me 877-434-5285.  Said his compant was IT Tech.  I looked the number up and this is what I found....this forum.  HOW did they get my last name and phone number? I am thankful I did not go further with him over the phone and they should be stopped!

They just called my parents.  My dad couldn't understand them so he passed the call to me.  "Shirley" had a heavy accent (probably Indian).  She went thru her speel.  When she took a breath, I asked for confirmation of the company.  When asked to boot the computer, I told her I didn't have time for this right now and was there a call back number.  I did not and do not plan to call back.  I'll have to really instruct my parents to not deal with these people.  Like another poster said, it doesn't help when their computer needs a tune-up.

rec'd a call from a man w/India accent. said my IP address was wide open to suspicious malware and he was calling for Windows. I was suspicious and said I did not want to give him any information. He persisted saying I could verify this phone number while he was on hold. I told him I could not do that at this time and why couldn't I call him back at a time when I was sure of who I was talking to. He said his company was IT Solutions USA Inc. He said he would put the level 2 tech on the line. The person who came on as "tech level 2" sounded like the very same person I had spoken with first. I told him I was not interested and he continued to tell me that this was suspicious malware that had infected 50-70% of computers and mine was one of them. They had received information from my computer and knew it was infected. I told them I'd been working with computers for 25 years and had not heard a thing about it. He continued to tell me that I had nothing of it. If so many computers were infected how was it I had never heard about it? He continued saying it is not possible for me to know everyone  in the world, but insisted that they were calling all the individuals who had this malware on their computers. I told him I thought that was not humanly possible if the numbers he had given me were accurate. He said I could verify company and number and then call him back. I called Best Buy and they had heard of some scams, and said this definitly was classic. They had also asked if I did financial transactions on the computer or used facebook. I told them I did not want to talk to them without being able to verify who they were. The BBB is closed at this hour, but I checked the company on the BBB website. My guess is they are using that company's name without the company's knowledge. The company is located in Miami.Do not share info with this (these) losers. I am still not sure it was two different people. Both had accents and although one sounded a little more clear, they sounded remarkably the same.
