The story was off the wall, A so called investigator ( Chuck Langley (626) 594-4933 ) called and  told us we were going to jall if did not pay a check from 2010 and we had one hour to pay, or we would be arrested on the spot..so we were refered to a mediator at Stanford Mediations Mr. Stephenson (888) 392-3865 ext 7101 who settled for more then half because we had a clean record, since they said they had our records I had a question about our so called record they couldn't answer..  they  also wanted to get paid through paypal sorry thats not the way collections get paid when its a bad check.  and when they emailed me credit card authorization form it was cut and pasted and several word were misspelled.  big SCAM ..and while talking to them on the phone I googled this company lots of comments on others being SCAMED !!!!!!

Hi Lexie, I'm sure you work with these people.  I just got a call yesterday 10/21/2013, same thing, a check from 2005, same dialogue and everything,  When you get arrested they have to tell you what it's for.  
What do you do, crawl under a rock and reappear every couple of years with the same crap?   I hope someone does to your loved ones what you are doing to others.

nice try , but lets be real. The police have to inform you of the nature of the warrent. second to process you they would have to divuldge all pertainent information to you. third you would have gotten out on your own, this was not a felony as you said. unless you are a frequent offender. you people who cant make an honest living will get yours some day. you cant hide forever, someone will find you. and I dont mean on the internet or phone either. as a life long MARINE, I for one have had it your type of people. bolt the doors and batten down the hatches boys. keep looking over your shoulder at who walks through the door next. you never know when you push the wrong person too far......................ooh rah SEMPER FIDELIS....[ALWAYS FAITHFULL} to you who do not know!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would never admit to any debt that was out there, even if I did owe it without proper paperwork to show what I was paying was going to that debt. Been down that road before and got ripped off. They do this to shake you up and make you run out and try to pay it asap. They need to fax or mail you documentation of the debt!!!! Do not be so spooked you pay it, especially if they offer to settle, it is just your work against theirs, get it in WRITING........

Had a call from these people.  Same as above, owed money from 2005, threatened with a warrant for arrest if not paid. Wouldn't give any information, or fax me some kind of documentation to prove to me that I was the person they wanted.

There seem to be many cases of Stanford Mediation threating arrest warrents all seem to have 2005 in common. Why !! CAN WE ALL FILE CIVIL SUITES AGAINST THEM. Anyone who knows the answer please post to all.

Lexie, I had the same thing happen to me. I got a call about a check that wasnt taken care of. I did all my research. I called the bank and everyone else. I received threats about being arrested if I didnt take care of it. They told me the warrant was not active they were waiting on this investigator that called me. Now Lexie I actually did call the company who the debt was with, some kind of check guarantee company. They actually referred me to HKZ & Associates. I thought this was all a scam, I saw all these posts on the internet about a scam, so I ignored all threats. I did my research thinking it was out of statues 2. Three days later I was stopped with a tail light out. They ran my drivers license and said I had a WARRANT and they had to take me in. I was in SHOCK they couldnt tell me why or what it was for. I had my kids in the car with me!!!!!! They let me call my husband to get the kids but they wouldnt tell me a thing!!!!! I was charged with check fraud and some kind of thief  by conversion or something, I dont even know what that is!!!!! It took 3 weeks for a court date. I didnt have the money to bail out. Turns out in court they had all these documents showing  i didnt respond to anything. I was found GUILTY!!!! I was so glad that this was not a felony. I could of had some serious time. I had to serve 60 days and I'm currently on probation!!!!!!! DO NOT TAKE THESE PEOPLE AS A JOKE THIS IS REAL!!!!!! THEY ARE DEFINITELY  NOT A SCAM!!!! Do not BELIEVE everything you read on the INTERNET!!!

Stanford Mediation, scam "debt collection" with HKZ & Associates.  They will try and get you to pay to an account at Chase or B of A and threaten you with arrest warrants.  Most counties offer free searches to see if you do in fact have a warrant.  Do not pay these people!  Contact the original company yourself to find out who the debt was assigned to and follow the proper channels.
