Phil must be a busy guy.  I called back and the woman said the name of the company is "Local Light"  She didn't  care that I'm on the Federal Do Not Call list.  She asked if I wanted to be on their do not call list.

HAHAHAH I received that exact same message, left on my voicemail last night.  Replayed message and read first post it was exact. Only "Phil" called from a new number 877-292-7140 and left the 6025 number for call back.

I got the same voicemail last night at my company.

I did some research and found that this company is called Local Lighthouse. Their web site is www local lighthouse dot com (Don't want to give them any link love.) They're based in LA.

I just submitted a Better Business Bureau complaint against them for deceptive advertising practices.

But as you can see from their page, I'm not the first to do so. The company simply denies that they misrepresent themselves and pretend that it's some kind of rogue employee doing this. But clearly from this page it's obvious they are using the same misleading recording to robocall hundreds (or who knows, maybe thousands) of businesses at once.

If you get called by them, I would encourage you to submit a BBB complaint about them here:

Also got the same message from Phil.  Four calls so far. On the third called I asked how much just to see what they would say..."between $145.00 to 200.00 for top listing when searching google places".  Again I declined and they hung up fast.

But this got me thinking...this started for us after we investigated joining Google Places on or around the beginning of Sept 2011.  Anyone else have the same connection???

I have sent this info to phishing-google@google.com.  You should report it too and let Google go after them!

I received the same call last night.  Since it came up on caller id as 000-000-0000 I did not answer and let my answering machine pick it up. Phil again had the same message as everyone else has said.

The interesting thing was that he called at 8:30 p.m.  WHo many businesses especially in my line of work are even open at night?

This appears to be a real scam.  Beware.

We got the exact same message last night at my company.  I mean... verbatim.  This isn't the first time we've gotten it.  It's pretty pathetic.  That seems to be the general consensus here.

He left the exact same message for me.  What an idiot....the name of my company clearly spells out that we provide on-line marketing services. What a Moron.  I am half way interested to let him pitch me to see how many lies he can come up with......................... Phil, if you ever read this, you should be ashamed of yourself. Get a life!

Same message recieved verbatim here to, I picked this call up rather than let it go to V-mail.  Just a recorded scam message trying to get people to spend money to "buy" top page slots on search engines. (It doesn't work that way btw)

Phil left a message after hours on our answering machine.  "huge opportunity" "open spaces on the first pages" Claimed to be a data service provider for Google & Bing.  Didn't mention whether he was a Google 3rd party partner.  Urged a call back to 877-442-6025.  Ignored...

Funny. This service is what WE do.  But then when we heard about the huge opportunity, we dropped everything and flocked to Phil...er,... a 'data service provider' to get us into those 'openings'.  Amazing success, immediately.  And when you act now, you'll also get 'top listings' on Alta Vista, Hotbot, and InfoSeek!  Just watch the money roll in (to Phil's bank account).

BTW - the post with his spiel is EXACTLY the same one I got.  Clearly Phil can't even actually call, he recorded it.  He must be doing all of the actual work getting my clients into an opening.

"Phil", Data Service Provider for Google, Bing & Yahoo, called about a "huge opportunity" and open spaces on the first pages of search engines. Clearly he hadn't bothered to research us before leaving such a stupid message; we dominate search engines in our area, and we work in SEO. He kept repeating "big opportunity." Sadly, I have a feeling a lot of people will fall for this crap.

Phil from 877-442-6025. Got a similar call about a space opening up on Google, Bing, & Yahoo. That's not even how Internet Marketing works. Spaces don't just open up and bang you are on the first page of a search engine. Phil from 877-442-6025 does not know what they are talking about.
