Solicitation by WTS (Water Treatment Services) using the name of AdvantaPure (only shown at the bottom) claiming to be a "GE Dealer". It says at the top: "Voluntary Residential Water Quality Improvement Survey...Your participation will help Water Treatment Services better serve you and your neighbors". Going under the official name of "Water Treatment Services" they want you to think that they are the working with the City by trying to sound official. They went through our neighborhood after City office hours putting water sample vials and paperwork on door knobs which asks for phone numbers, names, addresses etc. so that no one could call the City to verify with no care for the people who have "NO SOLICITING" signs posted on top of that. They only took the paper and left the sample (taking what they want ... your personal information and leaving you to pick up their trash. You may call non-emergency numbers and make incident reports. With many people in the neighborhood, it is considered fraud when they don't actually collect the water. And when they call you with no actual sample taken to discuss your "results"...FRAUD!!!! Get your City water lab behind you and make incident reports for each person scammed. Thinking on testing the water ourselves through the City and exposing this company for fraud...the legal term is: FRAUDULENT MISREPRESENTATION. They lied or misrepresented something about a transaction, but did it on purpose, in order to trick the other party. Check with an Attorney...we think that if you buy it, you've got them...but you would need proof to proved them different. Good Luck.

Claimed to be Water Treatment Services.  Wanted to schedule a time to test water and offer filtering options.  No obligation ... etc.

Received a "GE" sponsored mailer on my door, purportedly from the city, asking us to fill up and return a water sample bottle.  But then asked for personally identifying information that a city agency wouldn't ask for in a random sampling program.

Also same as previous. Got suspicious when they kept asking whether I lived alone or whether I was married.

Now a new SCAM...Pat Thomas wants us to fill out a customer card to include all personal info monthly income etc for a $50 babies r us gift card.  Small print reads "IN HOME PRESENTATION"...throw card away.!!!!

same as previous; we were under the impression that the person coming was from the city. Got suspicious when they wanted an hour of my time, and only when both my wife and I are home. Looked into further - no testing by city is mandatory, and this site showed we're not the only ones who received such a call.
