my attorney said the same thing too...they use scary tactics to freak you out into paying money by phone but all he said to do is the minute you get the unknown call you pick up and give them the silent assassin (you DONT! say a f#@kin word) for a few seconds then hang up....their thing is that if they can record you well chances are that maybe they got something...but if you pick up and hang up in seconds they never heard your voice OR even got a chance to leave you a voice message to threatened you....so they are f@#ked in that department. after a few of those they get sick of you and give up......

This number is bull.  They called my number and left a message about a court summons.
1. Legal summons is done by a person.
2. Courts do not hide behind an "Unknown number."
3. In this case it was a bad check - it is an arrestable offense here.
3. The person they called doesn't live here.

Ok, I got a call from a process server, or an alleged process server, stating in my voicemail that I am hereby notified that I am being summoned to court. I called the phone number for "the plantiff" and it was for ACS group. They went on and on about some payday loan that was past due and that I was going to be served with papers, but, they would send a release of summons if I made a payment of some odd amount. While on the phone with this joker, I let him know the name of the person who called me, and he said there is no one here by that name. I'm like ok, well, process servers usually don't call you, they just show up where ever you are, be it at home or at work. Well, turns out in my state all records are public so I searched my name to find there was no case filed against me. I let the agent on the phone know that I am looking at the public records and I see nothing for me listed in court documents, so how could a process server be on their way to summon me to court. He wished me luck in court. Thank God I did my research! Otherwise I would have been tricked into paying these scam artists. I also contacted an attorney who verified that Debt Collectors use tactics like that to scam people into paying

Someone named Miguel left a message that said he was trying to contact me in reference to a bad check that I had written and was trying to serve a legal summons to appear in court, but that since I was unavailable, this message would serve as notice. That he was going to come to my home and place of employment and serve the summons. Then wished me good luck. I'm sure that's not legal. I would call but I think its better to just ignore it and hope they go away. He doesn't even say what company/organization he is with. Debt collector of some sort I'm sure, but most likely the ones you see on Inside Edition. Looks to me if he had a legitimate legal debt he would file papers accordingly with the local couthouse. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I got a call from ACS Group, saying that if we didn't pay the amount they wanted in two weeks, they were going to file the papers and but a warrant out for my husbands arrest. They also threaten my husbands grandmother with an arrest warrant.
