Earlier, I applied for PG&E Energy Savings Assistance Program and was qualified. Then I got a call from this number and got a voice message. They say they are calling me to provide me some free service to conserve energy which comes from that CARE program, and they will do it for free. I have an appointment set up with them next week, and they will come to my house for an inspection to see if there's any work to be done at my place to save energy, say, caulking, sealing gaps, changing an old microwave and stuffs like that.

Right after I set up an appointment with them, I've done some research. I've read some negative articles about some other conservation services, so I called PG&E and asked them about the service ,and the representative knew about my schedule for the service appointment next week. It seems pretty legit to me. Maybe some of you would have received cold calls, but the Quality conservation services looks okay.

Cold call.  I didn't recognize the number so I didn't pickup.  They didn't leave a message.
Calling back you get a message asking what extension or department you want.
Looking at Quality Conservation Services' website, they are a contractor doing weatherizing of houses so this is probably just a cold marketing call to offer to seal cracks in your house or something.
