Phillips Law Center / Client Services are a scam. The agents are liars. They make money off files that go thru. Please don't contact them. The agents lie to so many people. They still process files knowing clients aren't qualified for a mortgage restructure. Don't let them tell you they have connections with the bank because they don't. You can do the work yourself and for free by working directly with the bank. When they tell you it will take 30-90 days is bs. They also copy and paste signatures.

Phillips Law Center is a scam.
I was very naïve and gave them information regarding a loan modification.  I had received a note from them stating that I could modify my mortgage.
They took a bunch of information over a several month period.
They told me I was eligible for loan relief and that they would work with my bank ( BOA ) to help with the process.
I was refused by B of A who said that I was never eligible for a modification.
This is a total scam.
Beware.

I should have known... but unfortunately I am a young first time home buyer who had a mortgage that I was struggling to keep up with and these guys got me.  January 2012 I got a call and a letter "from Chase"...  about qualifying for a loan modification.  The guy gave me the BBB link, and a few other links with testimonials, etc... to check their credibility.  The guy on the phone put me at ease and everything sounded legit; a company who guarantees an approval and lower interest rate RIGHT!  I got my approval back within one day of submitting initial paperwork.  I sent a check for $3,000 to be held in a trust until everything was finalized and if it didn't work out I would receive the check back.  At this time he said the process would normally be 30-90 days and I should have an answer sooner since I had all the paperwork turned back in immediately.  I was desperate.  I kept checking in and checking in and nothing.  They kept telling me it was with the underwriter or processor.  I finally took matters into my own hand and was going back and forth with Chase about my file, which they didnt get till April 24 and not from the Law Firm.  I was not approved for the modification they said I was approved for and now I can not get a hold of anyone.  Oh, and he told me I did not have to keep paying my mortgage because once the approval went through everything would be brought current.  I'm sure you can only imagine what has happened to my perfect credit.   Does anyone have any directions or is there nothing I can do at this point being out $3,000.   I wish I had someone else in my life to give me help and guidance on scams like these, this is the tough part of growing up and learning on your own.

Christy,  Please check your Credit Report often from now on.  You need to monitor it because your SSN may be in the wrong hands.

I called and the man I spoke to had now problem giving me his name and contact info. He didn't mention a thing about money. My only concern is he has my social security number! He said he would email me the papers to fill out but I have yet to see this email! I called the number back and he did answer and said he sent it but its not there. I asked for his email and sent him an email to make sure and I still don't have a response! I think I may just send him another calling him out on this scam and warning him if anything is done with my identity, he will be the first person my lawyer calls! :-)

I recently responded to an ad on craigslist about a sales job in the newport beach area in OC ca. I was literally hired on the spot. NO BACKGROUND CHECK, DRUG TEST OR AS LITTLE AS AN APPLICATION. Lucky for me seeing as to that I am a convicted felon and currently on parole, I obviously jumped on the job when I was told that the average employee makes  between 5 and 10 grand a month. Within an hour of working there I began to get suspicious. We were basically taught how to scam the potential client into making them believe we worked for the lender. The script (witch i have a copy of, as well as recorded conversations with the management:) would have us lie to the unsuspecting client and tell them we were putting there information through an "automated system" the same one there lender used (LIES!) the system doesn't exist, nor does any formal relationship with the lender. We were then instructed to "schedule an appointment" with an 'official' underwriter". The "underwriter" is just one of 2 creepy asian guys who sit in the back and schmooze the client into feeling a sense of urgency in retaining Phillips Law Center, or Farmers Group for anywhere between $2995-$9995 with promises of lowering there mortgage payments, stopping the foreclosure process, getting an adjustable rate fixed, and basically anything else that the borrower portrayed an interest in somewhere along the whole SCAM process. Now if thats not bad enough but the company "CLIENT SERVICE" as they answer as, is also using the information they receive during the application process and selling it or using it themselves for other business interests. IE: Using your credit card debt for a debt settlement company. !!!CHERRY ON THE TOP IS THAT IT TURNS OUT THE BUSINESS IS ACTUALLY OWNED BY A CONVICTED RAPIST!!! Just remember borrowers: Nobody except your lender can promise you an adjusted interest rate or any modifications on your loan EXCEPT YOUR LENDER. Beware of these scam artists who hide behind new government programs to make a pitch that sounds too good too pass. AS MY MOTHER ONCE SAID "IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TOO BE TRUE...IT IS!"

I researched and researched about lawyers in california. Especially Phillips Law Center PLC.   Parsa (Parsa Law Group) Charged By CA State Bar With Crimes Involving Moral Turpitude, Stemming From Parsa?s Rape Convictions in 2001

On August 31, 2009, The Chief Trial Counsel?s Office of the California State Bar filed charges against James Parsa, owner and founder of Parsa Law Group, for moral turpitude stemming from his 2 convictions of statutory rape from 2001. (Actually he pled guilty to 2 and his crafty attorney got him off on the other SIX).

Here?s the complaint from the California State Bar:
http://members.calbar.ca.gov/courtDocs/09-C-12545.pdf

And he was still praticing during this time to Modification homes. So it goes to show that attorneys even licensed in California with Convictions can still perform Modifications then you will be a victim of money. Before they put a stop to this Phillips Law Center PLC> Please dont have money taken from you. Before it is to late.

WOW. Apparently Phillips Law Center PLC and State Law Group are running  a telemarketing-call center out of the same offices. We also received a letter via the mail claiming  a mortgage reduction. Obviously this call center sounds out what appears to be "Title Leads" Yes this is public information, however the letter does not state what business this is. The person on the other end of the phone answered "Client Services" I asked what is the name of the business-they were hesitant to answer. They finally gave me  name of Phillips Law Center PLC. We hung up. Called again. The same vague sales techniques was used. Only this time this caller told us "State Law Group". Buyers Beware... Visit. www.loansafe.org   no upfornt fees till the modification is complete. Dont buy into the sales pitch that the money is placed into an escrow account either. Dont be  a sucker who like to gamble.

I received a notice similar to Liz's. I initiated the call and asked for the company name. The representative told me he was associated with Phillips Law Center, PLC. They offer legal services for applying for loan modifications. He said the firm was Bar certified in California, but was unwilling to give me the Bar number until he could determine that I qualified for the loan modification program (i.e., I was under-water on my loan, which I am not). This could very well be legitimate and potentially useful for some people. However, I'm skeptical that the services would be a good value compared to alternatives. The notification in the mail is just a marketing tactic, though I would have appreciated it if they had identified themselves in the notification/advertisement they sent in the mail--it would have saved me some time.

Received similar notice, but for Bank of America. Because I have no loan w/ BoA, I decided to call. Gave no info, immediately asked for company name. Was told "Client Services". I asked if client services was the name of the company. The answer was "We are not the bank." I said I have no BoA loan. He said just ignore the later and we hung up.

Yes, a scam. Don't call, don't give any information.

Received a notice in the mail titled "Payment Reduction Notice" and claiming to offer a discussion about the modification of my homeowners' loan with Chase Bank. I don't have a loan with Chase Bank. At the bottom in tiny print was written "this information was obtained through public records. We are not an affiliate of...Chase Bank or any Government agency."

I didn't call.  This is a bogus scam tactic.
