If you have a Washington Mutual (WaMu)Debit card, when WaMu was bought by JP Morgan Chase (Chase) they recently  sent out (arrived in my mail 5/1/09) out new debit cards to account holders with the Chase logo on it and a new debit card account number on the card. The letter they sent out with the new card has the (877) 486-0592as the number to call to activate your new Chase debit card. This is the same phone number they also sent in email asking debit card holders to activate thier new debit cards. The phone number on the sticker on the new Chase debit cards is (866) 553-1745. This is also the phone number sent to me in voice mail that also checks out as OK to use to activate your new debit card:(866)553-1745.
