This number is a scam.  Companies don't have people come out to verify lease values.  When you return the car they will do that.  

I got the call today and they said the same thing to me.  I do not even own a car im 16.

The guy said I was lying and I needed to provided them my info so they could come by.

I told them I''' be contacting the police and they then just hung up.

Received call from 877-492-3773 appearing as Tracking Service on caller ID. Man indicated he needed to schedule a lease end inspection and wanted to arrange an appointment. Indicated I plan to purchase car and not necessary. He indicated he would check back in about a month in case I changed my mind. My lease doesn't expire for another 6 weeks. Why inspect the vehicle so far in advance? I suspect this is to verify value of vehicle based on overall condition, mileage, etc. to assess if residual lease value is higher or lower than stated in lease document. If you think residual value is lower than stated and you plan to purchase vehicle, don't have the inspection. If you aren't planning to purchase vehicle, no real need for a pre-inspection - this is not really to your advantage, as the vehicle will be inspected once returned. The inspection at the dealer usually takes about 30 seconds - one walk around, check interior, and odometer, that's all they do!

Got a call from this number this morning. There was a beep and it Took about 15 seconds for the actual message to play. Sounded like the phone was placed against an answering machine as the message wasn't loud and clear. Said they were calling from CedarScan Field or Shield (couldn't hear) services "on behalf of your financial institution" about having a vehicle inspection. Told to call back 800 556 2811 "promptly" to schedule. Sounds phishy to me. Showed up on caller ID as Free Call Toll 1 877 492 3773.

We keep getting these stupid calls - like 4 times a day. I got on the line and asked them to please remove me and it's still happening!!

Got the call from 1-877-492-3773 and the same mesasge about vehicle lease end inspection.  Got a ref# adn another phone # to call @ 1-800-556-2811.  Called and after a bit talked to someone, gave them the ref # and they had the totally wrong car on file.  At this point i just hung up.  My lease is up but i didnt trust them having the wrong car.  Ill just talk to my sales guy at the dealership.

Yes this number is from DataScan. The it appears some of the scheduling is out sourced. This call is to set a field inspection for vehls coming off of lease and not to sell you anything.
Some of the callers have a fairly high work load and can not always answer the line quickly.
They may call up to two month prior to the turn in date to allow for scheduling and any repairs that may be needed.

I am leasing a car and the maturity date is in 2 months. I think they are legit. I agree with the Toyota Owner though, the music was pretty weird.

These people, DataScan, must let their employees work from home...I got a 1 minute voice mail message of just soul music and no actual message.  I am at the end of a lease though so I presume it was Datascan

I don't buy that this is a legit call. I don't have a car lease or any other lease ending in the near future, so I wouldn't trust it if I were you.

has to do with your lease running out. (my Mazda was due for an inspection) it's not a scam or anything

They use a s****y calling service, but the call is legitimate. I got a hang-up too.

Calls are coming from DataScan...a service that car dealerships use to schedule end-of-lease inspections. [as per my dealership in Rye, NY]

got a call on my cell today from this # - did not answer - they did not leave a message (as usual for these #'s)  not sure why they are calling or who they are

These people have been calling me 3-4 times a day for the last week.  A couple times they have left a message saying they are calling to schedule a time to inspect my car before the lease runs out (in 3 months).  Today, caller ID said "Barry Maashoff" (usually just says "800 Service") and when I picked it up it souned like there was a lot of traffic noise in the background, then I was quickly transferred to a pre-recorded message.  Not calling these people back unless my dealership tells me to; I don't trust it.

They keep calling and hanging up!!! What's up with that?
