I think they are some kind of collection agency.  They keep calling my house, and my parents for my cousin Eric who has never lived with any of us.  He has never even lived in this town.  We have told them that we don't know how to contact him, but they keep on calling

They call repeatedly for my brother that no longer lives with me.  A recording usually that says to hang up if i'm not my brother or to stay on the line if I am and then I acknowledge something blah blah blah I hang up at this point.  Very irritating so I pick up count to two and hang up phone now.

The company is violating the federal fair debt collection practices act "mini-miranda" rule which requires them to tell you that you can dispute the debt, to do so within 30 days of receipt of the call an dhwre to send the notice of dispute.  Also, some states have the same law, lik California, Colorado and others.  You can sue them fo violating the la and get damages and attorneys fees.

Debt collectors are being sued constantly and there are many thousands of lawsuits against them across the country.

New York City even has their own law against debt collectors.

I say, execute them all!.

No need to contact the police. It IS a collection company. It IS NOT A LEGITIMATE collection company.

The reason numerous posts indicate that AT&T does not know who they are is the simple fact that they are not business partners.

You see, what happens is if the first collection agency (the one that actually has contact with AT&T or your bank or other lender) cannot recoup the debt after a period of time, they will sell the outstanding debt to a secondary collector. If the secondary collection company cannot recoup the debt, they too will pass the buck. This chain of events apparently has no end.

This is beyond the realm of inane (for you CCA reps. out there...yes I meant to spell it that way. Inane is a real word) for a few reasons:

1) These first string agencies obviously mis-represent their effectiveness to clients.

How can you call yourself a collection agency when your profitability lies primarily in selling files to other companies?

2) Second string agencies are illegitimate because they don't have any contact with the original lender.

This means they don't know whether any of the information provided them is valid....not even the debt itself.
What kind of collection agency builds a business on a model of uneducated guessing?

3) They do not accept feedback at all.

Don't be fished in by CCA call-center lackeys (Brian Lackeys?) suggestions that all you have to do is call in and let them know the truth. These guys are generally too ignorant to decipher truth from lie anyway. In fact, this kind of person is hired into such roles because they are impressionable enough to be convinced that every single caller is a liar, and desperate enough to chase and fight people for minimum wage.

I will end this post with a helpful suggestion (for the people being harassed, not you illiterate GED-deficient, emotionally-flawed, call-center sheep....I mean "collections agents"....out there)...

Yes, you should pay your debts. No, you shouldn't EVER pay these guys.
It's not too easy to make them stop calling, but it's very easy to take away any legal recourse they have. If you pay the debt to the original lender (or phone company), and there is no outstanding amount, you and the lender and Equifax will know...and CCA will just be blowing smoke out of their collective rectal orifice...like getting bitten by a toothless dog....unpleasant perhaps...harmful? No.

They have been calling my business line for over 4 years now.  I get about 10 calls a week.  They are asking for someone I have never heard of.  I have called them several times to let them know that I have no idea who this is.  They don't seem to believe me.  After about 3 years they found my home number and are calling there too.  They insist that this must be a former employee.  I explained that I have never had an employee but they assure me that I must be wrong.  When my husband called this morning to tell them 4 years was long enough they wanted his name, address and personal information so they could verify that this was the person they were trying to call.  He hung up on them.

Just got a call on my cell from an unknown number, Crystal from Eos-CCA, calling to get in contact with my husband because he apparently opened a 5 line wireless acct with AT&T back in nov'09(never happened) and now owes over $2,000. Had me verify info (i was sketch on it) and she gave me all that info. Now we have to file a police report.

Recieved a call from 877 518 6509 claiming to be a collection agency for at&t saying I owed $44.59. I recently had my identity stolen so I wasnt about to give my new info to someone over the phone. I called at&t about the issue and they said I owed $25.14 from a old phone number which had not been sent to collections. I paid the bill with at&t and asked for a email and letter verification of the payment. The sales representitive had never heard of cca and wasn't aware of at&t using them for collections, also several online searches showed cca and this phone number as a scam. I don't know for sure but I reccomend calling the company they claim you owe money to to see if it has a chance of being legit.

I have received 100's of calls from this number looking for someone I have never heard of.  This is a business line that I have had since 1985.  I have called them several times telling them I have no idea who this person is.  I think the correspondence moved me to the top of the list so that I get 14 calls a week instead of just 7.

This company is ridiculous how it gets its information- there was a previous renter a while back (the person they were trying find) we transferred our home number that we have had for over 6 years to this address a few months ago now they wont quit calling our personal land line at all times!!!! I called them back and told them to quit calling here, there is no "L****S*****" here and I better not hear from them again (we have never had At&T)
They should mark it down on their books that they have the wrong person, phone number and address.

This number has been calling me for over a year, of course now it shows up on caller ID as "unavailable".  They keep calling for someone named Carl, I believe must have owned the phone number before me (I've had this number for over 2 years). In the message they say "this is an important business opportunity and not a solicitation" and that Carl should call back within 24 hours.  They leave the number 1-877-518-6509.  I don't even think this is a legitimate company or has anything to do with AT&T and I don't consider someone calling me every week for the past year to not be a solicitation.  It sounds like they are trying to scam people into giving them money for something that doesn't exist.

if u work for CCA, you must have not finish Highschool because your english spellig/grammar is obviously horrible.  You can threaten people all u want about ruining their credit and all that but be more convincing next time. If you are legit, you wouldnt even reply to these comments.  If you guys are legit, actually NO CCA will call people and not knowing if they called the right person or not. DUH (how dumb are u guys anyways?

"if its a wrong number and you dont know the person, be a reasonable human being and just tell us, otherwise the calls will cont...if its a wrong number and you dont know the person, dont worry about who we are, or why we are calling..."

read what you wrote.  if any company transferred info to CCA to collect money, won't they give you guys the CORRECT number + CORRECT NAME? pretty dumb of you guys.  STOP telling us to PAY our BILLS and calling us DEBTORS, IDIOT!!

i got a called from this phone # 18775186509 along with a reference # that a lady machine left on my voice mail regarding about an important personal matter.  anyways.. since i am dealing with some kind of fraud thing it made me  think that this is legit..  so when i called back this dude Scott kept telling me that i owe ATT money and that i can resolve this matter right now by paying with my credit card. And i told him i will call ATT about it and talk to them. But Scott kept saying i need to pay now or my credit will be bad and that after i pay them i can talk to ATT about it and they will reimburse me back..(uh that's strange) So, i kept insisting that i will call ATT first before i pay anything to them. I asked for his ID # but he told me to call his direct line instead with some extention # (iforgot) I called ATT right away and they checked my account and didnt find any balance of that amount and also told me that they had never heard that any collection agency telling people that ATT (or other company) will reimburse $ back if they determine its a fraud or watsoever.  she told me to call SMALL BUSINESS BUREAU to check and see if the # is a REAL collection agency.

P.S. to all u CCA people out there.. I DO PAY ALL MY BILLS ON TIME SO STOP TELLING US TO PAY OUR BILLS. Even if people do owe money, they are still CONSUMERS and DO have CONSUMER's RIGHTS.  Know your stuff before u start b***s***ting cux it only make u look stupid!  and BY law, (obviously u guys dont know ur laws) COLLECTION AGENCY CANNOT THREATEN ANYONE ABOUT MESSING UP OUR CREDITS!!! DUMB F****.

Karma is a bi*** so watch out. the stuff u guys are doing will have an end to it.. FYI: stealing personal information is a felony.. i'll see u guys on the news

Received a call from Felicia, ext 4272. I had to listen to the message she left 3 times so I could write down all of the numbers she was leaving. I called her back, told her the person she was looking for only lived in our home a few months and had moved back to his home state of Colorado before Christmas.  I also told her that when she left messages, if she could speak the numbers more slowly, we would be able to write them down without having to replay the message. She told me it was the way she talked and if I couldn't understand her, to wash my ears out and then she hung up!  RUDE! I own a business and am very careful when leaving a call back number, knowing that the person needs to write down each number.  I can't believe how irritating she was. I wasn't personally attacking her, just giving her some "training" as her company should have done!  I called the number back and asked the man who answered about the company and all he would say was "CCA" - they must not know that you can Google anything now - even a phone number!  Thanks for listening.

Excuse my language, but what CCA said was b***s***. I don't know the person and told them to stop calling, and they wouldn't stop. I talked to a lady first, then they got a guy to talk to me (like that made a difference). Next, they started the with the automated messages. It was obvious that it wasn't totally automated, because if I said something, it would just hang up. Then I didn't say anything, and pressed "3", meaning this is the WRONG NUMBER, it just hung up too. Finally, this lady began leaving messages in my voicemail. Ext. 34148. I had enough and I called back but she wasn't in. Then I asked the operator to remove my number, but she said she won't have me raise my tone and hung up. UNBELIEVABLE and RIDICULOUS. I'm the one being constantly harrassed and all she does is just pick up the phone. So here's the SOLUTION: Call a ATT representative, tell them to call this number and say you are the owner of this number now (the number being harassed). And that should be the end of it.

By the way, whoever wrote the post for CCA obviously need to work on their basic English language, i.e. spelling and grammar.

Good Luck!

CCA, if you are indeed a legitamate company I'm absolutly appauled at your unprofessional behavior and verbage used in this comment. No corporation working for a large company such as AT&T would continue to work with an unprofessional company such as yourself. If you can "hit someones credit" that is a scary fact indeed that a scam could have access to peoples credit. I cant believe for a moment that someone who would rant on and on calling names and being abusive is a legitamate business. I think your comment is just one more red flag of many that your "company" raises by the way you do business and the blatant breaking of business laws that show that you are not on the up and up. It is sad to me that you can sleep at night when your work is based on stealing from others.May God have mercy on you.

No wonder you guys are in collections. Let me brake this down for you, trust me its simple. READ YOUR CONTRACT! I know, no one reads there contract, shoot I didnt read mine either, but don't get pissed because you signed your soul away, you agreed to that when you used the service, didn't complain then did you?
If it is a wrong number and you dont know the person, be a reasonable human being and just tell us, otherwise the calls will cont...
If it is a wrong number and you dont know the person, dont worry about who we are, or why we are calling, it has nothing to do with you. You wouldnt want us telling your issues to a stranger.
If it is a wrong number and you do know the person, give us information to contact them so were not calling you, plus they may want to take care of there bill cause they may care about there credit and score.
Let me tell you something that could help all you DEBTORS out, PAY YOUR BILL. Once an account is 'Charged off' (check your credit for that word) the client (AT&T, verizon, sprint, you get that much right?)doesnt want or have the right to talk to you about your bill. If you didnt know you had a 'bad' bill, well you do now, PAY IT. If you dont agree with the charges, you signed a CONTRACT, deal with it.
Yea yea, use the excuse 'the economy'. I know it doesnt say in the contract that if Bush F's up then you dont have to pay, retards.
So quit your whinning, cause you cant do anything to stop us but PAY YOUR BILL. And even if you find away to stop the calls, that is fine, we will hit your credit. And not 10-20-30 or even 50 points, o no you deadbeats will get hit with an R9 charge off, you can look that word up on your credit too.
The funny thing is you DEBTORS want to get mad at the calls, well, we get paid hourly, we get paid to call you, and guess what WE PAY OUR BILLS!!! Weather or not you pay your debt doesnt effect our ay check (hourly), so if you refuse or hang up (chickens, cant stand the heat) that is fine we will just place it will another collection company, which will hit your credit again.
Threaten us with your 'legal action' you think we give a crap? Answer: doesnt even cause ANY reaction. We are covered under so many laws. I know what your thinking, what about my rights, the 'consumer laws' guess what, YOUR NOT A CONSUMER ANYMORE, YOUR A DEBTOR!!!! You want rights, pay your bill.

And at the end of the day when us 'horriable, debt collectors' can pay our bills, understand when we sign a contract (legal binding doc) we will have the good credit scores with low APR's, rolling around in your repo cause we PAY OUR BILLS, and the best thing about this whole thing, most of us our in our early 20's. So go ahead and moon about it. We always get the last laugh :)
