I also received a phone call from John Adams saying I won a 2014 Ford Explorer &that I need to call them back at 1-877-518-6953. I am also on the Do Not Call List !!! How is this S*** allowed to continue??? Do not call is a lot of B***s***!! Keep These kind of people Out!!

I received a call as well. My caller ID said the number was: 303-429-xxxx (Denver, CO based number)
The voice mail was an automated call from someone named "John Adams" saying I won a 2014 Ford Explorer and that I should call them back at 877-518-6953.
Naturally, I didn't call back and went straight to google to figure out how pervasive this scam was.

Also received a final attempt voicemail from John Adams exactly as described above (regarding my winning entry from a Mall or online for a 2014 Ford Explorer or 3 other prizes, that I am definitely a WINNER, documents were sent to me, and to call back 877-518-6953).  Glad I looked up the number and found this site first, thanks!

I too received a final attempt voicemail just today at 3 pm from John Adams regarding my winning entry (from a Mall or online) for a 2014 Ford Explorer or 3 other prizes, that I am definitely a WINNER, documents were sent to me, and to call back 877-518-6953.  Never have I entered a drawing for anything, never received any documents in the mail, and am most certainly not calling back.  Also, John Adams has been dead since July 4th 1826, so it must be a call from the Beyond.  Nice try Mr. President, I'm calling John Edwards on you.

I got a message on my home phone from "John Adams" stating that I had won a 2014 Ford Explorer, or one of three other prizes, and documents had been sent to my home. This was their third and final attempt to reach me, and to call 877 518-6953 to claim my prize.   Yeah, right... not after I've seen all the other stories like this here.  Thanks 800notes.com!

I received this today and said to call that number.  Said Mr.  Russell was the prize director. I asked the girl why they gave me a 877 number for a local prize and she said they charge you.  I told her they don't charge for local calls and she sounded off script

My turn!  Although, it appears I've won a 2014 Ford Explorer.  Like the others, some documents have apparently been sent to me that I have yet to respond to.  And this voicemail left today was their last attempt to reach me.  Losers!

Same message- you won a Dodge Durango or 1 of 3 other prizes. He had my name and address. Said they sent me paperwork about this and never heard back from me. I never received paperwork! Said to call back 1-877-518-6953. Very happy for websites like this one that people can check and avoid yet another scam. BE CAREFUL!

They won't answer when you call back. Got "Dexter Pitman" to call me back. Talked to him long enough to get that it's a travel promotion (known commonly as a SCAM). Said that they were in Chicago and the name of the company is "The Prize Center". Wasted 5 min, 30 sec. of his time.  Can anyone do better? He gets flustered when you get him off script. Didn't get to tell him that they violated the Do Not Call list (Not they care, no one does anything about it when reported). Have fun you all.

Dexter Pitman called my twice in 1 minute and left the same message. Guess I won two Duragos. Come on folks lets start a contest to see how long we can keep him on the line wasting his time. I'm calling himback now.

I just received the same message. Says I won a Dodge Durango and that there were documents mailed to me 2 weeks ago for me to sign, but they haven't received them yet. I never enter contests because of this so it makes it so easy to know this is a scam!

Got mine from Dexter today in PA.  "prize coordinator" with no company name attached was the tip off.

Received a voice message from  Dexter Pittman stating I won a prize - a Dodge Durango.  He stated I had submitted an entry for this at a local mall.  I NEVER submitted anything for a prize at a mall.  This is a SCAM FOR SURE.  I DID NOT call him back.

Screw you Dexter Pittman and your alledged 2013 Dodge Durango, I ain't falling for it!!! But I will report it to the Better Business Bureau.

Got a message today from Dexter Pittman saying my husband won a Dodge Durango.  When I call the number back there is only a recording of him saying to leave the correct spelling of our name and he'll call back.  This is definately a SCAM of some sort.  They'll probably ask for some sort of money to be wired somewhere for "sales taxes" or something else.  Remember people . . . if it sounds to good to be true, it is!!  PS  Also, how can you win a contest that you didn't enter?  Wish I were that lucky at lotto!!  BEWARE!!!!

I received a phone call from 1-877-518-6953, and said hello two times before someone hung the phone up on me without saying anything at all.  I called this phone number back, and received a recording stating: This is   Dexter Pittman, I am the Prize Director, please leave your name, and phone number, and I will return your phone call back, thank you.

January 2013 I also received a voicemail message from Bill Russell @ 1-877-518-6953, same message.  I passed it off as nonsense but my family members kept talking about it so I searched the web and found all of YOU!  Thank you ALL for saving me from wasting my time!

I too, received a call from this number saying I had won a Dodge Durango.  A young man left his name as Bill Russell said to call 877 518 6953 To make arrangements to receive my prize.  Needless to say, I did not respond.  I have since received a call from 1 800 520 2996 stating that I won a Dodge Durango. The scam is on big time. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also received a call from this number saying that I won a Dodge Durango, when I don't remember to have applyed for this....I understand that it is a scam......be careful.......

Got a message from the above number saying I won a Dodge Durango and to call back. However when I call back I get a message that the above number is not set up to receive calls at this time? WTF?

Got a call from this number and said they were from The Continental Law Group and that I was going to jail if I did not make payment arrangements on a visa card to pay a pay day loan which I paid so much interest on this loan that my bank account was compromised and closed after I paid the negative on my account. Said it was considered a bad check. Called my work and had every piece of information on me and my family from 15 years ago. That is scarey.  Isn't there anybody out there that can help me?
