I'm getting these calls and being on no call list doesn't help.  PLEASE stop these calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had my phone number for nearly 20 years, but continue to get calls asking for Charlotte Akin even though I always tell callers not to call my number for this person.  I do not know, nor did I ever know anyone named Charlotte Akin.  This company calls daily to speak to her.  I've stopped answering because they do NOT believe that I'm not Charlotte, so they leave messages saying "If you are not Charlotte Akin, press 1" -- as if that does any good on a voice mail!  

A call from this number called my neighbors asking for me, don't know who this company is.

I have received calls like this off and on for about 3 or 4 years now. They have been looking for my mother, brother, and sister-in-law; the funny thing is, my mother-in-law received a call from them this morning looking for my mother. I guess if they don't get the info they need from one person they will contact as many people as they can that may have a connection with the person they are seeking out. It's frustrating! I don't know about them selling on eBay, and that's great for them, but they don't need to be so tirelessly persistent, upsetting people off every chance they get.

I have not answered any calls from this number, thinking it was some kind of scam, because I do not have any unpaid bills or old debts and my credit score is fantastic.  So I thought perhaps it was one of those 'overseas' numbers that if you answer they charge your phone. I have no idea, nor am I going to call them to try to make it stop, but they call every day, several times a day and it is like the others said, a recorded message from a 'debt' collector.  

Got a recorded message and no one answered. just rang and rang. ,I have no idea who they are looking for.

Some company called EOCCS

Received automated message from 877-528-3499, someone named Carrie Smith, looking for my EX mother in law. Have been divorced OVER 12 years. Have moved to ANOTHER state. Have had ABSOLUTELY NO contact with those people since the divorce was finalized (none of the ex's relatives, no body, severed ALL ties with that family) Have remarried! Has nothing to do with phone number as my ex or that family NEVER had this number.  It has to do with a company called Intellus (and other companies like them) that collect data from all public records (courts, phone listings, address changes from post office, etc) and compiles it to be referenced with your name.  And then matches it all with your relatives(blood and marriage-current and former). It is such an invasion of privacy.  Talk about big brother watching you.....

I dont know when they got this # but from the looks of it all the bad reports are from 2009 so I think this problem is no longer a problem.

This number  630-689-1756 called my EX wife, trying to get money from my current wife's dead mother who has been dead for over a year.  My dead mother in law, my wife, and my ex all have different last names, so no clue why they would call her!

They are scammers. They called me about an AT&T bill from 2 years prior. I explained that the bill was paid as I continued to receive service from AT&T well after that bill. They thanked me and hung up. Now one year later they are trying again.

it is illegal for any collection agency to do this kind of cold calling, get their name and direct number and report them to the police and phone company. If their office is across state lines they may have also committed a felony

I have tried to get these jokers to take my number out of their data base 5 times.  I have spoken to 3 people and left messages twice.  I don't know the person who they are trying to contact and I am tired of dealing with them!  What a bunch of losers!  What legal action can I take to get them to leave me alone??

If you had your email account broken into, that could be how they got your niece's number. Believe or not these people do illeagel things.

I keep getting calls where I work from this number.  All I get is a recorded message saying this call is for _________ (no name given, just a short pause)  If you are not - pause again - please hang up.  By staying on the line you are acknowledging that you are - pause again.  There will now be a 3 second pause.  This is an attempt to collect a debt.  Please contact us as - you guessed it, pause again.  Please reference file # - yep, pause again.  
And so it goes on.  I'm saying not a legitimate company, as they never left any information.  Not even a phone #.

This person Richard White called me at 700 in the morning called it back and had to leave a message and I assure u it wasn't a nice one since I have been up most of the night with the flu>>>>not I am and angry that the freaking bill collectors have the legal right to harass u. I keep getting phone calls all hours of the day and night from this bunch - if I ring it back, I get a recording that states:"You have reached a call center that is no longer in service, please check the number and try your call again.."  I suspect it's a case of someone gating a phony Caller ID on an out-bound war room scam of some kind. Verizon is my carrier and they refuse to do a damned thing about it! Maybe I should file with the FCC and the CA PUC on it.

They call and tell us they are trying to collect a debt from AT&T. When I call them back and tell them we have never had service through them seeing as how we are not in their service area and we have had our current providers for years. The tell me I am lying. I sent them repeated letters telling them to prove it along with a cease telephone contact letter and yet they continue to call. I have placed complaints with with attorney general, and the FTC...all I can say is if hasn't stopped them from contacting us on something we don't owe...then I am not sure what will stop them .

This is Definately a collection agency for AT&T. They have been calling other family members of mine trying to locate me. I told them to stop calling the other numbers, which they clearly got from an old phone bill and to mail me a letter and stop calling me as well. We will see what happens, but I can tell you, I will NOT be paying a collection agency I will repay my debt directly to AT&T. This guy tried to tell me that I can't do that, BS. You do NOT have to pay collection agencies for your debts. Pay the orignal big collectors!

My name has not been this for over 25 years.

I answered ther phone at a relative's home an found the call was for me. The caller identified herself as Miss Peyton from the OSCCA about a business matter that pertained to me. She then asked the last 4 digits of my social security number. I told her that I didn't know who she was or her company. She interrupted and shouted her name and the company's. I told her that I didn't know who that was and that I wanted to know what it stood for. She said, I can't give you all the information, Mam." I said, "And I can't give you all of mine." She came back with (yelling), "Mam, we don't even know you!" I told her that we were even and hung up. If she is legitimate why can't she tell me what the letters stand for? Does she even know?
