Charter One survey line for recent customer experience.

The call is for a survey from Charter One Bank wanting to know about a recent banking visit. I called the # back & talked to a customer service rep & had my # put on a do not call list from them & they gave me a confirmation # in case of a call back. The cust. service rep. was real nice & polite & hopefully took care of this. Was worth the call back to stop the calls.

I just got a call frim this number.  Did not answer, did not leave voicemail. Called it back and it said I have reached the charter one survey line.

Unknown caller, answered first ring, phone went dead, no one there.

It's Charter One. They are calling to get you to activate your new Visa card. It's not a scam or sales call.

Charter One Bank. I have a checking account with them--I think it is a sales call.

This people can not be stop. The system protect everything that is obnoxious and abusive, But do not get mad, get even. That is. Use pay phone and call those phones just harassing they back. When possible make promises of buying (false name course) paying or whatever those sob's want. It will cost 35 cents from your pocket but it will make a good point. The same with those prepaid envelopes asking for money or to insure your sick mother. Send it back with empty papers. Be careful to remove any indications that have your name or address on it. Try it, you will feel better.

I hate it when I get calls from this number I never answer them because they call 9 times a day even sometime back to back  1-877-349-7517  and I know I don't own anyone any money

nicely done, except i know who my bank is and what company issued the card. plus, i don't think my bank would use bold in the message.

A financial services telemarketer accused of violating several requirements of the Federal Trade Commission's (FTC) Do Not Call Rule -- from calling hundreds of thousands of consumers on the National Do Not Call Registry to failing to transmit accurate caller ID information -- has settled the government's charges and is banned from telemarketing to consumers for five years.
In November 2007, as part of a multi-case crackdown on Do Not Call violators, the government charged Global Mortgage Funding, Inc. and its owner, Damian Robert Kutzner, with unlawfully calling consumers on the Do Not Call Registry in an attempt to sell financial products, including mortgages and related financing services.
The complaint also contained charges of violating the FTC's Do Not Call Rule by failing to transmit accurate caller ID information, failing to pay fees required to access the Registry, and abandoning calls by not connecting consumers to a representative within two seconds after they answered the phone.
Following a lengthy investigation by the FTC, the lawsuit was filed and litigated by the Department of Justice on the Commission's behalf.
The agreed-upon court order bans Kutzner and anyone working with him from participating in telemarketing to consumers, and from helping others involved in telemarketing to consumers, for five years.
It also permanently bans Kutzner from violating the Telemarketing Sales Rule, as well as its Do Not Call provisions, which include calling consumers on the National Do Not Call Registry, failing to provide accurate caller ID information, calling consumers who have said they do not want to be called, and abandoning calls.
The order imposes a $6 million civil penalty against Kutzner and Global Mortgage and imposes reporting and record-keeping provisions to help monitor Kutzner's compliance. Finally, the order ensures that Global Mortgage will not resume its operation or benefit from its past conduct.
Both Global Mortgage and Kutzner had a previous run-in with the FTC, which sued them in 2002 for allegedly sending "spoofed" e-mails that offered mortgages and purported to be from legitimate banks.
Global and Kutzner signed a consent decree in 2003 in which they agreed to pay over $60,000 to resolve that litigation and accepted a court order prohibiting them from future "spoofing" and other misrepresentations.

ACTUALLY SAYING YES IS NOT A GREAT IDEA

Many unscrupulous businesses record calls - they will take that YES from the beginning of the call and move it to make it appear you agreed to something you never agreed to.

They are now sending ti phones via text message with the following message sterlin alert/unusual activity

have been receiving 2-3 calls daily for the last week or so.  if you pick up it disconnects.  if it goes into our voicemail, no message is left.

yup Charter One - those ratbastages called me on CHRISTMAS DAY !  They called 3 times today and woke me up.  When I called back to complain they told me I reached a non-working number but identified themselves as Charter One Bank.

Wait until they speak first.

When they do, say yes.

Then tell them 'Charter One bank needs to stop making these soliciting calls".

This is charter one for sure.  They left me a voice mail saying my card was compromised and a new one will be sent to me in the mail.

Just started getting annoying calls from this number at various times during the day. Caller ID only says toll free call. We don't answer, they leave no message. Going to check out the Call Blocker mentioned above, thanks!

I get this call almost every day.
