One hang up call so far. I called the number to see if it was a working number, and I got a recording saying the number is invalid. I smell a rat.
Cable company wouldn't call and be "curious" as to what my bill is. They don't care; they just want you to PAY it. So the poster who said someone claimed to be the cable company and wanted to know his bill amount did the right thing by ignoring it. Something fishy there...

Got a call from this number twice this week. First time I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message. Second time was about 20 minutes ago. They hung up as soon as I answered. It's just annoying.

Received one hang up call so far at 11:37 A.M. yesterday, Friday.
I have TWC and it's possible it IS them, since they have called me from multiple numbers. A company that big would always have more than one call center.
Of course, caller ID's can be faked, just like e-mail addresses.
What I do is call the toll free number from a pay phone so MY ID won't show up, since I don't know who I'm really calling. Then I see who answers. Sometimes it is a disconnected number, in which I think the caller is up to no good. Legitimate companies would use a working number. The cable company should know what your bill is, but the question is why would they CARE. Mine just keeps going up.
I'm on DNC list but I think it's a joke. Companies will do it anyway.
I don't answer anything/anyone I don't recognize, whether it's a phone call, e-mail, or somebody at my door. Best to stay "off the grid" when I can.

I've received several call from this number over the past two weeks, I have not answered the call, they never leave a message. Must not be important, only call my cell which has been registered on the DNC lists.

Got a call from 877-539-9119 @ 6:31 August 14, 2009. Very odd. The message left was just of a TV or radio in the background, kinda like when someone's cell phone gets bumped and 'accidentally' dials a number (there's a commercial on TV that calls it 'butt-dialing'). I couldn't quite tell what the TV/Radio broadcast was, but it's clearly someone's personal phone, NOT an auto-dialer. I have TWC, so I s'pose it could be them, but... Odd.

just ot a call from 877-539-9119 and I don't think it is Time Warner...something bogus for certain. No msg left and I am on the do not call registry - I am reporting this although I don't have a company name.

Got a call from 877-539-9119, caller said it was Time Warner Cable and wanted to know how much my bill was this month, My reply was well your the cable company so you should know. they said they didn't have info on file, my reply was sorry, i don't have time right now, remove from list plz.

I've received 2 phone calls, and called back both times. Both times received phone company message of 54-3 we're sorry, the number you dialed is invalid. In my opinion, that definitely makes it a call center - they're paying enough that they can set their own outgoing phone number. Probably a poorly run debt collection agency that wants to "surprise" people who answer the phone and can't figure out how to legally answer incoming phone calls. Debt collectors aren't allowed to tell anyone but the debtor that they are a debt collector, so responding to incoming calls can be a bit tricky, but not impossible.
