Lisa Roberts called with a threatening message for someone who doesn't even live here.  I called this number and told them that if they called me again, I would file a harassment charge against them.  I kept the message because these folks are going to get sued under the Fair Debt Collections Act very soon and I wanted to make sure I had evidence against them.  DO NOT GIVE THEM INFORMATION.  They already know where you are and how to serve you - you have no obligation to work with them at all (except you do have an obligation to pay any outstanding debts).  this is about the most awful collection scam I have come across.

I called these people back to make payment arrangements on something that I know I owe on.  I don't have any sort of debit/credit card, nor was I giving them my savings account number.  They told me that I had to pay with one of these and a mail in payment was unacceptable.  They then told me I was going to court/jail.  What the heck?? I just tried to make payment arrangements.

Can anyone tell me what I should do?

Do not give these people any information about you. They claim to be a law firm one minute and then some one else another. They are scam artist!!!

These people are total Scam Artists!!! Do not give them information and do not feel scared or worried by their allegations!! First of all no debt collecter would sue you only try to collect the debt! No law firm would call you for your information, they have outside resources for this. If a debt collecter does call you they are also required to send you a letter within 5 days. No one should ever make payments to a third party . Try obtaining a credit report and go throug the numbers on the report to make payments. If you question or argue with these people they clearly get frustrated and irate you can tel at that point they are definitely not a professional company. The best thing to do is not answer 9 times out of 10 they don't leave a message.

I recieved an outside call from some lady  named was Beverly Turner, but would give the name of the company that she worked for, She told that the she had some papers ready to be filed on me in  her office. She was wanting me to verify my address and told me to call 877)548-4064 and speak to someone at the company wno is having her serve me. It didn't make much since to me.

Our relative had a voicemail looking for someone by my wife's maiden name.  They said their name was Terry Burke and was calling about a claim against my wife.  We called the number and it said the name of the company was Nationwide.
