Just received a miss call, I get these from various numbers now and again. Most phones have a reject list, so add that number to the list and you will never know they are calling and life carries on uninterrupted :)

I've been getting this call a few times. I just set myself up with a CIBC card so I believe the posts that it is them. I answered once and it was just hold music so I hung up. They keep calling back. I'm sure it is something stupid and scammy like balance protection on the credit card and I know how ruthless they can be so I won't pick up. They'll probably sign me up even after I say no.
CIBC is the worst. When I got my card and called to activate it using the number on the sticker I waited on hold for 20 minutes a guy picks up, I tell him what I want and he immediately transfers me without telling me why or anything. I waited another 10 minutes and only after I asked about setting up online banking did I find out I was transferred to security. I applied for the card online so I assume that's why and that makes sense but seriously? The first guy couldn't tell me why he was transferring me just, "oh you want to activate your card, let me transfer you" Stupid CIBC.

The caller ID disguises as CIBC bank. They don't leave a message which means its either a spam or fraudulent call. Don't pick up!

Got five calls from 877-556-5659 with CIBC in the call name display.  There is no answer when I answer these calls.  After a short time they hang up.

If you have iOS 7 on your iPhone, you can definitely block the spam phone number.  Go to phone, see all calls, select "i" with circle icon, this brings up call info.  Next scroll all the way to the bottom and select "block this caller".   This number will never show up again, as iOS will block it.  I believe you do need call display from your cellular provider in order for this feature to work.  Hope this helps

If you call the number back, the message says that they are calling on behalf of CIBC. If you follow the prompts, your number can be put on their DO NOT CALL list (supposedly) but it may take up to 30 days. They play games with their stupid menu.

If you have answered, be polite and explicit about not wanting them to call back, don't just say you're not interested or they will assume that you're not interested in THAT product or offering. If you are not perfectly clear about not wanting calls, the next time they have a different offer you will be contacted again.

If you did not pick up, remember that dialling systems are automated, meaning dumb. If you don't pick up, the system will call back until someone does. It's not personal. This particular company has a very good system, if you call it will give you options on how to take yourself off of their calling list. It may take up to 30 days to be removed from the list because the system does not update in "real-time".

If the telemarketer keeps calling after you've asked not to be contacted, call CIBC directly to complain. They hire outside companies to do marketing and would NOT want their customers (or prospective customers) to feel harassed. It would not really serve their purposes very well.

I do NOT work for CIBC, but I am a marketer. These types of things are our nightmares...if people don't speak up then the assumption is that everything is good.

This supposedly CIBC 1-877-556-5659 called 2x a day, sometimes 3x a day, NEVER leave any messages.   From reading posts here, now I know that they are not from CIBC, that they are telemarketers.  So please don't answer your phones when this number appears!

This number has called at least once three times a day for the past week.
Never left me a message.
Called the number back, and it said it was CIBC offering a new product.
You can be added to the "Do Not Call" list, but it says it takes up to 30 days to actually have your # removed.

we answered,took a minute for them to respond,said they were working for cibc,took a message for who they asked for, they said it wasnt urgent,we called the number back,recording says they are tele marketers for cibc,took a few seconds but we are now on their do not call list,also blocked it on out phone.

I call that number and my phone says connected, but it never rang and there is nothing but dead air.

I have been receiving phone calls from this number for the past few weeks, I work graveyard shifts and my husband works day shifts I have explained that he is at work and does not get off till 5pm our time several times It is disrupting my sleep as I have to sleep during the day and some times the phone calls come in 3 and 4 times a day how does it stop?
