This person called me asking about someone else but it had a 2 in front of all the numbers not a 1.
This was the number the lady gave me over the phone 2-877-563-1691

asked for my dad to call back 877-563-1691 and to refer to a file #2286887 in regards to a Karen Hefcox, my dad is 80 yrs old does not live at my home or use my phone and we do not know this person

Received very harassing phone calls to my personal phone and all of my family members. The gentleman's name is Matt Cohen. If that is is real name. I tried to explain to this man that I was a victim of identity theft and that I was uncomfortable giving my financial information . I asked him if the company he represented was a member of the BBB and his response was "of course , everyone is!" He raised his voice to me and I disconnected the call with him. I researched the company through the BBB website and they are not a member . Therefore, I will not contact this company any further and contact the proper authorities and get this solved.

some idiot from 585-273-6402 has been calling my inlaws my ex-wife from 12 years ago etc. I never listed any of these people as references and they have no business callingthese people

GVA has been leaving messages with my brother, my parents and the wife of my x husband. I have called them numerous times asking they stop calling them and if they want to speak to me, to call me. They called them all again after that. I talked to a Maria Boyd and i told her they are a scam and to stop calling my family and friends because if they want me, GVA should call me. Maria Boyd said i was a scam and should pay my debt for my discover card.... funny.. i have NEVER had a discover card, she said "oh yes you have" and my responce was "no i have not.". After she yelled at me and said they were filling a lawsuit, i said again, stop calling my family and i hung up. If GVA really did want to get in touch with me about any debt i have had, then they should be calling me or sending me a letter but nope, i have never received anything. Dont let them bully you or your family.

They've been calling me for days, even changed the number after the fifth call to see if I'd pick up. I knew something was up because "Brooke Thomas" sounded like an automated machine, and they were asking for my mother. Glad I searched!

I had a very similar message from a "Matt" who left a message for my ex-boyfriend's grandmother (!!!). I have have changed my home phone# TWICE since I lived with him so how they got my phone number is beyond me. I have not called them back and don't plan to (since that will probably just encourage them to call me more) but the call back # was the same (877-563-1691) and he said it was VERY VERY important that I call back and made it sound extremely urgent. It's gotta be a debt collector.

My older daughter received a message for me regarding my younger daughter, directing me to call the 877-563-1691. They have also included an account number. The message was to call Maria Boyd at JBA.

I am getting calls from a Maria Boyd at 877-563-1691 requesting that I call her regarding my son.  I am a disabled senior citizen and don't know why she is calling me.  I want the calls to stop now.

this kevin johnson 8775631691 has called my cellphone and my aunts house and addresses us both by name, asking for my dad and left a file #. They said its between him and a third party. What does that mean?
Aren't they not allowed to call cell phones?

Brook Thomas  from GVA left a message for me using my ex's name and a file #. Glad I Googled before I returned her call! (Divorced for twenty years, you would think they would call more recent ex wife two or three instead.....they are REALLY digging for this scam!

"Matt Cohen" called me about a distant relative from 877-563-1691, left a message and said I needed to call him back urgently. Not doing it.

My mother and I are getting harassing calls from these numbers 877-563-1691 and 585-273-6402.

Hi, just got a call from the 8775631691, I did not ans, they left a message saying that it is in reference to a kathleen Mitchell or hum, did not call back, I do not know any one by that name, darn scam!

I got this message yesterday...

"Hi, This message is for xxx. If you are not xxx.  Please hang up or disconnect.  My name is Kevin Johnson from Genesee Valley associates.  Please return my call. So, 1 (877) 563-1691 and when calling back, please refer to reference number xxx-xxxx.  This is an attempt to collect the debt, any information obtained will be used for that purpose.  Thank you."

This is a new and unlisted number which is not released to anyone.  I use my cell phone for anything important.  The person they are looking for has no relation to this number.  This looks like harassment to me and I am not going to call them back.

In looking over the Internet, I have found that this firm buys old credit card debt for penneys and can be ruthless in trying to collect it.  Stay clear of them...

This company had my name and a phone number that belonged to my partner.  My partner has had this phone number since 2004 and I am not even listed on this phone number.  They were looking for some woman with the last name of Smith (couldn't have come up with a more original name could they).  Didn't know this person and told them so.  They said they would take phone number out of their system.  Called them back to find out how they got this number and they basically told me that the number had been taken out of their system and that they needed to take then next call and hung up.

I totally agree... these people are calling with a different number that they are giving (1-585-273-6402 Rochester NY) and giving a number 1-877-563-1691 and file number to call back. PLUS!! My husband has paid off his debt to purchase a house. So there is nothing for him to pay off. Total SCAM ?. If I was not at work when they call I would pick up and threaten them.

"Matt Cohen" called my Mother's phone # saying that I had listed it on an "application".  I have never used my parents address or phone number on any application for anything.  My last name is also changed due to marriage.  I am 40 years old and haven't lived at home in over 20 years!  That makes no sense!  He gave her a file number and told her he needed me to call him back at 877-563-1691 ASAP.

I am not calling back because this is clearly fraudulent.

These people actually had the nerve to call my brother in law's cousin who lives in a different state from me claiming that I owed them money.  How they would call someone of no relation to me looking for me is beyond what I can think of.  Absolutely ridiculous!

this number called my home asking for a relative.... when i called back they said i needed that relative to call them about a case number! if they call do not call back and block there numbers!!!

They have contacted people whom we cannot figure out HOW they would be associated with us.  We certainly do not have a debt from that period of time!  We got a call from Kevin Johnson.  Also check ripoffreport.com.

I received a message on my answering machine today from Kevin Jensen at GVA.  He said it was in reference to someone I'd never heard of before & referenced a file number & left the 877-563-1691 phone number.  I had no clue what it was about until I looked it up online.  I definitely won't be calling him back!

Repeated calls from this number to family members.  What on earth do you want?  I retired many years ago

If you get a call from these people, DO NOT give them any bank information. They called me today claiming that this was the last chance to pay a credit card debt otherwise it would be turned over for legal action. I have not had a credit card in years. They wanted over $1000 from me. I told them if that is the case why have I not gotten anything in the mail. They told me that they have sent me atleast 50 letters. Then they tried to tell me that maybe my wife had gotten the credit card, she would never do that. They gave me 24 hours to make up my mind on paying this. The soon as I got off the phone I called the Attorney General office in our state. They  do not have record of them, which in our state makes it illegal for them to collect any money if they are even a collection agency. The Attoney Generals office told me to have them send me a letter, then forward it on to them when and if I get a letter, which they figure I won't. If I do get a letter, the Attorney Generals office will take care of it. The Attorney Generals office had me check my credit report just to see if I had something on there and like I told everyone, there wasn't. When I did call GVA back to get a letter sent to me they called me a low life who doesn't pay my bills.  DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!

I got a call today from GVA 877-563-1691 asking me to give them a call regarding a name (my niece's).  They have a file on her but are unable to locate fer.  How did they related me with fer to star with is a mind bender, since we do not share any family names  or never lived in the same household ever.

My wife and I got a call from 877 563 1691 ext 232 - A man called us referring to himself as Robert Richards from the  TBA and he was referring to case # 1723103. He wanted us to return his call. He referred to someone we did not recognize.

By the way, THEY DON NOT EVEN SPEAK ENGLISH, either!!!!

They are even calling my sister in law, prompting for inforamtion. RUDE TO SAY THE LEAST....

Same thing here I have since gotten married moved and the person they are wanting does not know my last name address phone number etc. Same person called me and can't answer how they got my info when the person they are looking for does not have it. and how I got to be listed as contact for this person is another they cannot answer.

Oh yeah and they claimed to be just a location company.
