Legitimate E*Trade number calling to see what they can do with the money I just deposited yesterday.

This was from E-Trade and it was to welcome me to my new account.

Legitimate E*Trade rep call, following up on a web site signup I had done but had not completed. They want me to roll my IRA over with them. This is a legit number.

Left a message saying it was E*Trade just checking with their customers, he knew I was with them for awhile. Probably legit E*Trade.

Opened up a new E*TRADE account and received a phone call two days after opening.  Unfortunately, this number isn't on E*TRADE's website, which lead me to believe they were identity thieves, but after speaking to the rep for a few minutes (and she never asked me for any info an identity thief would need, e.g. account numbers, SSNs, etc), I believe it's a legitimate number.

they called and asked for someone,  when I told them that they had the wrong number, they seemed insistant that it was the number to reach that person, and I repeated my self,
