Checked my cell phone and noticed a missing call from 1-877-577-0877 - I'm thinking what the h-e(double hockey sticks). I never called back but I have recently signed up for a Godaddy.com domain name and for a Graphistudio.com information packet... those are the only two places I left my new cell phone number on the internet.... :S.
I never called back.

I just got a call from them and didn't answer. Clled them back and spoke to a rep that wanted to sell me additional WebHosting. I go through 1&1 currently and have 3 domains through them.
I asked him to take me off the list, he verified my number, and told me no problem and apologized. If it worked, then good on them.

I just bought a domain name from Go Daddy. Got this strange call a week later, did not recognize the number, so I did not answer. After no message was left I thought I would Google it thinking it could be a response from a job application. Found this site, guess I'm not the only one who's been bothered by this. I'm going to try to call them, see what they have to say but, I will wait until it's an inconvenient time, like they did for me.

I just got the call. I didn't answer it, but I Googled the number and got this site. Yep. You guessed it. I registered a domain last week with GoDaddy. They called my cell phone number. I went and looked at my account information and my cell phone number was the only number listed. GoDaddy is selling information. They have to be. I changed my number to 877-577-0877. Let 'em figure that one out.

I recently updated the contact info for a domain I've had for years and got this call ("Jarrod from aplus.net"). In Canada on a cell phone, as for many other people. I've been trying to figure out if there's a CRTC rule against telemarketing to a cell phone, but I can't find one - does anyone know? Or alternatively, does the FCC rule against telemarketing to a cell phone apply to foreign cell phones?

I've been a GoDaddy reseller for years, have dozens of domains and never received a call from this number until today (as far as I know).
It was a hang up call, slightly annoying but not a hassle. How can they sell anything if they don't talk?
I appreciate this forum. If it becomes a problem, I will definitely complain.

I just got a call from the 877 number after registering with godaddy. So, I changed my phone number on their site. Let them call some random numner. I figure if they need to contact me, they can use my email.
| Said it was Laura from a+ .net... 2008-02-19 22:20:54 Unknown |
Sorry - didn't realize I'd written it down while she was talking

I received the call on a SKYPE phone that has only been in service 2 weeks. Also registered a domain with Microsoft business hosting. They didn't even have the domain name, they just said the "most recent" we'd registered... Whatever. I don;t even use the Skype number, I have no idea how they got it....

Just got a call from this number at my business. Woman said she was with A Plus and this was about web hosting. I told her we are not interested in a website. Long pause....then she quietly said thank you and hung up.

Yep, got the call from 877.577.0877 for the same reason everyone else did. My number is on the National Do Not Call List. I filed a complaint.

Got a call from A***olePlus.net today, wasn't home to pick it up. They talked to my boyfriend who said I wasn't home, and they asked if I'd "had my website up yet". He said I was working on it and they promised they'd call back.
Can't wait.

Got a call from this number -- googled to find this site. I purchased a GoDaddy domain last week, so I guess I know what the dealio is.

I got a call from this number as well and they asked for the owner of this website, I was suspicious since they had no idea what the owner's name was and they didn't mention which "this" website was. I told them they had the wrong number and the guy appologized and hung up, never got a call from them again but I wanted to know how the heck did they get my cell number and who were they and what they wanted. I too recently registered with GODADDY so that explains a lot i guess

Recently registered quite a few domains with GoDaddy and this number has called me twice now.. 20 mins ago and yesterday about the same time.. Yesterday, they said they would put me on a DNC.. Today, same thing. I am in Canada so the FCC won't help me there, but I have kept a log of the 12 minutes wasted and a bill is being sent once I receive my next cell phone bill. As well, my domain's are PRIVATE for the whois infomation so there is another way they are receiving this information.

We also have a domain from GoDaddy, but it took them several months to get around to calling us. They asked to speak to the web host and I just told them not interested and the guy was very polite and said "thank you, goodbye" Now this was our first conversation, so I hope they took our answer as solid and we will never hear from them again, if we do, we will take appropriate action.

Got a call from 1-877-577-0877. I answered, but caller was silent. Googled this forum and now I am irritated, as I have no idea how they got my cell number. Consumers should band together and demand number blocking from our cell carriers. It is certainly within their means.

I dont host any web sites and get calls from this number on my cell phone - I dont give my number out either so I have no clue how they got it unless they are autodialing random numbers also. They have called a few times and never say anything when I answer. I see many have reported them for some time now - wonder why nothing is being done about it?

Your questions have been answered multiple times in this forum, you need to read the previous posts. When you register a domain name, all Registries are required to report this information to the Registrar. This information is your Name, Address, E-Mail address and Phone number. If you do NOT register with a private registration you will receive these type of phone calls and a pickup in spam e-mails. Try some of these website and type in some domain names or even your own domain names: freewho.com, iwhois.com. Any whois lookup tool will give you the same information. How do I know this information, I work for a Domain Registrar and deal with these type of issues everyday..register private or stop bitching because it is legal for the information to be available when registering a domain, either with network solutions, godaddy or any registrar.

I got a call just a short while ago. All I did was registering with Microsoft's live office and checking on google apps using my live domain, a few days ago. I think I shouldn't have answered after googling for that number. Shady marketing. Is there a way for reporting this to the authorities?
| Mike 2007-12-04 20:32:12 Unknown |
Found this page after Googling the number. I wasn't home, my sister took a phone call from this number. They asked only to speak to me, and claimed they would call back at a later time when I'm available. I plan on keeping them on the phone as long as possible and wasting as much of their time as I feasibly can.
Incidentally I have about 15 domains to my name, primarily hosted by GoDaddy - though I'm sure the Registrar is unimportant, it's just a WHOIS farming op.

This call if from godaddy.com. I recently registered with them. Now every other day or so I get a call from this number. I don't answer the call and no message is left. Annoying.

I found this page after I received a call from an unknown number and looked it up. From what I've heard there is some connection with Godaddy. I have several domain names with them.

I got a call today from this number. I didn't answer, but I wonder why they would hang up if you answer? Are they just checking to see if it is a real number?
