This is actually a legit call from Verizon, they started calling the day we were eligible for upgrade and, when I finally called back and talked to them, they realized I had already upgraded the phones.  She did want to go over my account details to make sure we had the best plan for our needs (she knew the talk/text and data limits on my plan - I gave her no info), after quick review she said the plan seemed a good fit for us. She did want me to know they offer home phone for $20, so there is some marketing involved and I'm sure they'd have marketed a different plan if the one I was on wasn't working.  The daily calls have since stopped.

A call came into our home phone on May 21 at 2:20 p.m.  Caller ID said it was "800 Service".  I did NOT answer and they left NO message on the answering machine.

IT IS NOT A SCAM....the number is for Verizon Selects. It is an outbound call center that contacts customers to inform them of upcoming promotions and deals through Verizon. They will also go over your plan with you to figure out if you have the best deal. After speaking with a rep I found out that switching to WiFi when I'm at home will cut down on the Gigabyte usage and eventually allow me to switch to a less expensive plan. They will only ask for the passcode if you are not the primary on the account. You can have them blocked by calling  Verizon and asking them to have a block on calls from Verizon Select. Hope this helps, I had to talk to three different reps and a supervisor before I got a rep who knew what was going on.

I am continuously getting calls from this number & they NEVER talk or leave a message. It comes up under the caller ID as "Anonymous"...IT'S A SCAM....DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS & MAKE REPORTS!!!

Received daily calls from this num without answering. After reading this site I decided just to block the number.  Thanks for sharing.

It is Kipany Productions LTD. Third party vendor for Verizon. I screwed up and answered. He said he was with Verizon and knew account info, so I trusted him. Offered 3 new smartphones if I switched to new plan. My bill would be exactly the same and no rebates on phones, just plain free. Got the phones, the new plan, and a $400 bill. Trying to work it all out now, but it's a headache. Verizon has been great about trying to straighten things out, but it's scary that they give companies like this ALL my important info. Who else has it? Are they allowed to lie legally on a 'recorded' call? DON'T ANSWER!!!!

Same happened to me. Guy called from "Verizon" wanting to talk to me about my account to save me $ and walk through the different plans. Sorry, Verizon has NEVER called me and I don't believe it! Probably wanted to scam me for my password too. I told him I was happy with my plan and that was the end of the call.

I called the number back and they lady said she was from Verizon and wanted my mobile # so she could better assist me. I told her someone from this number called my landline and I wanted them to stop calling me. She told me there were no outgoing calls made from that number. So either she's lying or I'm dreaming...I am wide awake!!!!

I keep getting calls at all times of the day from this number....what good does it do to get put on a no call list......

Got call from these jokers, claiming that they represent Verizon and wanted my password for my account. Told them to scew off and hung up.

Called my house, asked for my husband, who is not here-I replied that I was on the account and they asked for the passcode. I told them to screw off.

Just returned a call from this number. asked for my name after which the call was disconnected.

A woman on the other end said she was from Verizon calling about promotional deals, but she wouldnt say any more than that until i gave her my password for the account. I told her to just send me an email about it.

I immediately called the Verizon support number, the lady told me that my account was not flagged for any reason. She said she couldn't tell me if the call came from a Verizon employee, but if i had a first and last name then they could look up that employee. She also told me that Verizon will not ask for your password when they call you (instead of you calling them).

Left no message.

Yep, me too.  I keep getting calls on my cell.  Like many of you I don't answer if I don't know the number.  I wait and see if they leave a voice mail.  So far the phone rings 4-5 times, no voice mail and they hang up.  I delete the call.

I APPRECIATE THE POSTS ON THIS SITE. I HAVE WARNED ALL MY FAMILY TO NOT RESPOND TO THAT NUMBER. RULE OF THUMB SHOULD BE - NEVER ANSWER A NUMBER YOU DONT KNOW AND IF YOU HAVE CALLED A RESPECTABLE COMPANY AND ARE EXPECTING A CALL BACK THEN ENTER THAT NUMBER IN YOUR CONTACTS SO YOU RECOGNIZE IT AGAIN. I DID LEARN THRU SOME WEB INVESTIGATING THAT THIS IS A LAND LINE NUMBER.

I have been getting calls from this no.for at least a week, probably longer. I receive it in the morning and it is usually within minutes of being the same time each call. I have never answered because I never answer a no. I don't recognize.

Someone calling from "Verizon" about early upgrades of phone.  Asked for my password.

This number has called me 4 times a day for the past month.  I have answered and no one responded.  If it is Verizon calling I would love to tell them what to do with this crappy Blackberry Storm.

My call was very similar, except she would tell me the details of what phones I could upgrade to, but would not tell me prices or what not. Then did ask for password and so I left it at that....I don't understand how they are getting so many of our details though, because she knew my name, my number and what type of phone I had.....

I continue to get calls from this number and they never answered until today. There was a lady on the line asking me what I used my phone for and what not and that I was eligible for some "great upgrades at great deals". She asked for me by name and knew my primary account number (which is mine). When I told her I would just go into the store, she said that they would have no idea of what you are talking about if you go in there asking because they are unaware of the deals yet. After that, I just told her I am not interested in your promotions....goodbye.

I don't answer any 800 or 877 phone calls. They are always something that is a time waster in my company. If they're somebody I really want to talk to, I figure they should leave a message. These people, and most others never do. They hang up as soon as the voice mail picks up.
