wrong... I just tried calling that number and it IS NOT a number for the lawyer, it is a residence number.

This guy is FAKE!  I get these calls from him for many months now and yes I do owe money and yes I am the right person but the fact is I asked to talk to Mr. Steinberg and whoever answered the phone would not put them on the phone.   I have recorded conversations and would be happy to show them to anyone who asks.  I do want to pay them but I am on Ontario Works and I do not have the money at this time.  I offered to also make payments that I could afford but they would not accept payments.  I also asked why they have not sent me any legal papers because it's been well over 90 days and they said in the message that they will be taking me to court within 24 hours if I do not get back to them and they avoided the question.  David is not a real person and does not work for them or they would put him on the phone.  Also they called me stupid and all other names but I did not call them anything.  I called them several times in one day (so they know how it feels) and they would not deal with me at all.  I asked for their office location so I could come in and talk to them, I tried to make payment arrangements and I tried to talk to Mr. Steinberg and they would not reply at all.  The best thing to do is call 1-800-889-9768 the ministry of consumer services and they can give you more information.  First of all before they can call you they need to send you a letter in the mail and if you did not get one and they have the right address then they are in the wrong.  They are not allowed to be rude to you and call names and they are not allowed to pretend to be a lawyers office when they are not.  The person who called me with this message is from NCR in Mississauga ON.  The phone is 1-905-366-0206 and address is 218-1515 Matheson Blvd.  This is who is calling me with the same message.

Those idiots don't seem to understand that they don't even have any credibility in their menaces. I had the same typical messages 6 months ago (!!!). I never called them back. Don't bother if you know you're ok, and you don't owe anybody any money. I just changed my phone #. The little b*****ds found my new phone # and are calling again. But where is the lawsuit they were supposed to engage 6 months ago? Nowhere. Why? Cause they have nothing on you! They just try to intimidate people and then get some money from them. Again.... just ignore them.

If you are indeed the paralegal for this David then I would like you to give me a phone # for your office so that I can speak to a real person who actually has some athority.  I have been getting a landslide of calls from that office and I have made every effort to contact that office and tell them that I AM NOT the person they are looking for.  They have the WRONG frign number and I may have to call a lawyer and file suit against this company for harassment.  I'm not kidding.  I AM NOT DOREEN frign Murphy!

I just finished reading all the messages above I also am getting calls from this David Steinberg over the last couple of days...what is disturbing is I got two messages left on my phone asking for me and the numbers to call back are both completely different - 1-855-256-5116 and 1-800-588-4024 - Both with the same David Steinberg message......?  Anyone have any insight for me??  I am a single mother who does have debt because of a very abusive relationship I only got out of 6 months ago and I am barely on my feet and have no family and no one to help me get above water but I am trying my best - I work full time and already have a garnishment that is taking 30% of my income and I can barely keep my apartemnt and put food on the table....Is this David Steinberg a really threat to me again...??

I had several msg's left everyday for sum1 named Sam. I don't know any1 named Sam but our last names r the same  I got sick and tried of these calls so I called back, sum guy answered and said hold on he's checking my number then he asked to speak to Sam. I told him there's no Sam here he said I'm covering for Sam and I better give him the phone. He also said Sam is going to get sued there is a lawsuit. I tried my best to be nice to him but he was really rude. I told him to stop calling my house he said his name was David I asked if he was a lawyer he said no but this is the LAW OFFICE OF DAVID STEINBERG. I told him I was recording the whole conversation he hung up on me. Funny how David has a law office but isn't a lawyer. He's using the name of a lawyer in the USA tht itself is fraud

My 89 year old mother who is not well just called me , very upset,  telling me about a call she received from this number (a recording of course) threatening her with legal action for not paying a bill, claiming to have called her many times etc. She owes no money to anyone and has never received a call like this before.  I tried to calm her down and told her to hang up quickly if she ever gets a call like that again and try to ignore it.

By the way - in the current economy - not everyone who owes money is a deadbeat, scammer or jerk. Sometimes there are extenuating circumstances such as health, unemployment and other tragic life events. Sometimes people are simply overwhelmed and barely hanging on but sincerely want to take care of these things ... just cannot under the current circumstances. Perhaps debt collectors would get further if they changed their approach ... and rather than using threats, should simply ask what is going on with the individual and ask how they can help. A soft opening makes for smoother dialogue and more positive results. I know this is true ... my ex-husband previously owned a collection agency. The success rate is extremely low ... I believe due to the tactics commonly used. You know the saying - it is foolish to keep doing the same thing expecting different results.

The number you must be dialing is most certainly not ours.  Our number is valid.  If you are being called in error for someone else, it is because the number on record (yours) must be one they had a while back.  Simply call us and we will gladly remove the number.

We have no desire to disturb or communicate with the wrong person and dialing a wrong number does not make us a "scam" sir.

I am sorry you are being disturbed, but to take that and correlate it to fraud is a far stretch.  Like several comments on this board, people feel that when a debt is stat barred, they somehow magically do not owe it.  These people actually need to understand what the law means and because of their ignorance, they end up being sued.

SAME here..have been getting these GARBLED voice mail calls for MONTHS now..and my debt is Stats barred!!! Take a HIKE NCR!!!!!!!!! and STOP with the threats to take me to court and to get in touch with my lawyer before the end of the business day...well there have been 90 business days by now!!!

I am sorry but if this gentleman is legit, then why is the number that his recording leaves one that cannot be connected? I've been receiving his calls for months now for an individual that does not even live at the residence he's calling - clearly he has the wrong number. I try and call the number provided and receive the operators message stating the number is invalid. I'm siding with scam and annoyance on this one!
