I work at tcim and have dialed the citi program for years.  Tcim services is contracted through Citibank to handle enrollment calls.  The payment safeguard program is an outbound program so the reps have no control for whom they call since it is an automatic dialer...the only personal information we as reps have of Citibank card holders is their name and address so there is no possible way a rep could of had a customers credit card number

I used to work for TCIM, TCIM Services is sub-contracted by major companies such as AT&T, Washington Mutual, Citi, and Triad Financial. There are also other companies in which TCIM Services does contract work for. I hope this helps give you some better insight as to what is going on.

TCIM mainly has their call centers in the South in states like Oklahoma, Arizona, and Texas. I worked in one of TCIM's call centers located in Texas.

At around 2.30 PM on 9/16/2008 I got a call on my land line from someone who claims he is representing TCIM Services. He said he was selling a payment protection service  on behalf of Citibank.Bryan says his company is located in Oklahoma and that he had information about my name, phone # and  credit card information based on his companys relationship with Citibank. I was surprised at this as Citibank is committed  to customer Privacy. Bryan  gave me his  call back # as 1-877-588-3495.

While the caller ( Bryan ) was on the land line, I dialed this 1-877-588-3495 #. The party answering asked me for my Citi

Credit card # and password in a firm but arrogant manner. Since I was not willing to share my password on this three way

call, the 1-877 lady hung up on me. Bryan went quite and I hung up and did some more research.

While on the conf call with the 1-877 lady and Bryan(TCIM), I checked the TCIM website

http://www.tcim.com/customer-care.html and noted that they were based in DE and not Oklahoma.

After this, I called the 1-800-CITI-ATM, the number which is listed behind my credit card and got hold of the

Security/Fraud department. I got Kristine ,employee # VFRXXXX(where XXXX is a 4 digit employee # ). Kristine claims that it is possible that the third party TCIM fraudulently obtained my personal and credit card information. She then looks up her system and asks me " did I speak to a Citi bank employee couple of minutes back" ?. She said that her system shows that an employee from Citibank may have called to offer Payment protection.

That still doesnt explain why a third party would have my personal information.

I called them back on 5/21/2008, the machine said they are "Payment Aid Processing Center" - why they are calling me, I don't know.  They were closed for the day. I don't plan on calling them back.
